I'm after fitting a towbar, just for a towing a trailer, and wouldn't mind knowing if I can get away without fitting a dedicated wiring loom ? I can get a towbar fitted for just over £200, but Indespension say I need to have the wiring loom aswell.. at an extra £200 ! I will never be towing a caravan and only want a single socket. My car is a 2007 56 plate L&K Octavia estate if it helps. Do I need the wiring loom. If not will I damage the car by not using one ? Cheers all Paul

I've got an 07 L&K Octavia estate which I got in Jan . It had 43k on the clock then and I've only added another 7 or 8k to it and it was serviced just prior to buying it. However, the car is telling me it's due a service in 700 miles or 330 days. Surely it's not due a service yet is it ? Paul

Once again, thanks for the advice guys. I got some Mobil 1 ESP from Halfords 5w 30. It's the type the dealer recommended and you have obvioulsy aswell. £17 for 1 litre is a bit on the steep side though. Paul

Cheers for the advice Cheezemonkhai. Ive no idea what a DPF is or if my car has one. How do i find if my car is on fixed servicing or variable. The dealer i bought it from stated that it was every 2 years or when the mdf told me. Thanks Paul

Having looked at the manual it may well be oil level as the manual states if it was the pressure then the macidot would tell me it's the pressure. Just checked the level and it is a little low. Now I need to find if mine is on fixed servicing or not. How do I tell ?

My 07 L&K oil light has just come on which I find strange as it's no where near due a service. Is this normal, if so what's the best oil to use? Mine is a diesel 1.9 tdi Paul

Is it me or is the front demist on my 07 L&K estate rubbish ? I've tried the fastdemist button and that's about as usefull as me blowing on the screen ! It demists a bit quicker if I turn it up full blast but it's still not very good. Am I doing something wrong or are the front screen demisting capabilities generally rubbish ? Paul

It matters for 2 reasons, 1) I carry a canoe on top so the feet need to fit the rail like a glove for extra security. 2) principle- why market something as fitting an octavia when in reality it would fit any car ! No 2 does anoy me though

Hi Martin, I'm Manchester based. Where r u? Cheers Paul

Im sure, but at £138 they are a tad expensive esp as they will be made by another company and just badged as Skoda. Who make the Skoda badged ones ? Paul
-
I mean roof bar feet that fit the profile of the roof rail perfectly with no gaps. Why do manufacturers say they do Skoda roof bars, when in essance they would fit any car with roof rails ? I had some genuine Ford ones on my old Mondeo estate that fitted the profile of the rails perfectly. Cheers, Paul

I have used the search function but cant seem to find what im after. Im after a set of roof bars for my 07 Octavia estate, but im after a set that fit the roof rails like a glove. I do have some on at the mo, but there are gaps all round the fixings to the rails. Can anyone recommend a set of bars that actually fit the rails ? Cheers, Paul
