I Know this might sound a stupid question or i've just got my thick head on, but whats the difference between the PD&CR engines in the VRS diesels in power/ torque delivery i'm just about to buy one, but tow a caravan so low down torque is more important than top end power. Thanks

Thanks for the replies, my caravan falls with in the 85% of kerb wieght rule and i have been towing for 20 odd years i just needed to know what your opinions were of the VRS as a tow car.

Help need some advice i'm about to replace my present car and have narrowed my choice down to a VRS TDI 170 estate or superb cr170. The VRS would be my first choice as it satisfies the boy racer in me ( should have said old boy racer) but the superb is the heavier car for towing so should be the better tow car. so eventually my questain does any one tow a caravan with a VRS and how does it tow. thanks

Hi, i need some advice on the suitability of a Octavia 2.0T FSI RVS as a tow car which i am thinking of purchasing. It will do everything else i require of a car, and if the write ups are to be believed will be entertaining when driven quickly. i know the 2.0 VRS oil burner (diesel) would be the obvious choice but i am not keen on the cost of a clutch and duel mass fly wheel replacement, which appear to fail regularly when used for towing on all makes of cars. If any one tows with one i would really appreciate your views. My caravan is well within the towing limits of the VRS at approx 80% of the kerb weight
