  1. Skoda Karoq 190ps 4x4 3500 miles DSG For the last two days after locking the car the hazard warning lights come on at around 1930 and only go off when I unlock. Then come on again a few hours later. Leaving the car unlocked overnight seemed to stop it. The triangular hazard switch had not been touched and does not light up when the lights are flashing. Today the car has been locked all day with nothing happening until around 1930. Any thoughts would be appreciated
  2. Can you have Off Road and Snow mode on at the same time. If not why not? I notice on one of the videos, that actually tells you one or two things unlike most of them which just drive round to music doing slip sliding, that when it got difficult in a particular place in the snow he switched to off road mode from snow mode to continue driving. Most of the videos are next to useless if you want to find something out that is remotely technical.
  3. There are quite a few videos out there that show road testing of 4x4 suv type vehicles to find out whether they will drive off a roller when they are put under one, two or three wheels. The track is a slight slope and the only vehicle to make it was the Subaru. None of the others with lots of convincing names describing their systems made it. This appears to be that the others do not transfer enough power to the wheel or wheels with grip. Must get a set of rollers.
  4. One of the great answers to a motoring question. I shall now enjoy the snow if we get any in N wales. At the moment it could do with a run anywhere, as currently it is doing about 2 months to the gallon! John
  5. Does anybody actually know the difference between Snow Mode and Off road mode when driving in the snow. There are a various videos with the Karoq in the snow, most are completely useless, all they do is drive round in the snow with music. There is no explaination of what button does what and the effect it has on the car.

    Karoq 4x4

There have been one or two queries lately in car forums regarding the 4x4 system used in various manufactures SUV vehicles. And demonstrations hat show that some systems are not as good as one would like. So, im the Skoda Karoq in 4 wheel drive if you put one wheel on a roller simulating ice would the vehicle be able to drive off and would it drive off if both wheels were on rollers. The reason I ask is that there is a demonstration around which shows of the cars tested, the Karoq was not one of them, the only vehicle drive off was the Subaru./
  7. The new emission regulations come in in January 2020 and according to information a phase in period will also apply to the target of 95 g/km. in 2020 the emission targets will apply to each manufacturer's 95% least emitting new cars. From 2021 on, the average emissions of all new cars will have to be below the target. Failing to hit the average will mean big fines for the car makers. To bring the overall average down manufactures will be very keen to sell very low emission vehicles and discounts can be expected for these vehicles. So there is me happy to by a Hybrid 4x4 or full electric from Skoda with 4 wheel drive like my Karoq and they have nothing ready. Having to wait for the Vision iv for 18 months means the value of my current goes down, so it looks like elsewhere time. Like the Land Rover Evoke
  8. Yes that is fine. But it does not give you actual turns and the road used, such as (494 in two miles turn onto the M56 ) for the whole journey only the next three maneuvers.
  9. Having a new 2.0 SEL 4x4 Karoq with Sat Nav and read most of the manual I cannot find anywhere, the method which allows you to look at the whole route with all the turns and junctions like you can on a Garmin or TomTom. For example, if a destination has two methods of getting there how do you know which route it is going to take when all you can see are the first three turns. Where as on the both Garmin and TomTom you can see the whole route and where you are going to end up, which is particularly useful if using a post code which in some cases can be quite a way from where you wish to be.
  10. What is the main difference between snow mode and off road mode regarding the ability to drive on slippy surfaces? Or does Off road mode when selected include the benefits snow mode.
  11. Display Vehicles were Landcruiser 80 series with 3 difflocks/Fronteras/Old Discoveries/ the odd Range Rover, and Shogun. The Landcruiser was by far the best particularly in the off road world. Much of it depended on what they turned up in.
  12. Having previously used rollers to demonstrate 4x4 systems on other vehicles for customers I was interested to hear from one who wanted to know if he put one wheel of his Karoq 4x4 on the roller would it when put into snow mode drive off, or should he use the offroad button. Or will it just stay there? whichever button you press.
  13. You can't select both off road and snow mode
  14. Thanks for that. What I wanted to know was, what is the difference between off road mode and snow mode. For example, if you are driving on snow does the off road button assist because it has snow mode included in it.
  15. In my last Karok 4x4 SEL which I had for 12 months the mode button did not light up when the off road button was pressed, but it does on my new Karoq 4x4 SEL 190ps. Any ideas why that should be. why can't I drive with the off road button on in snow mode, or are all the benefits of snow mode included in the off road mode anyway.
