  1. Hi all, I am hoping someone might be able to help me. My 2006 vRS had a major electrical power failure awhile back. I have lost all the adaptation settings on the car, these were obviously done before I bought the car. My friends, owns a small car repair/MOT/service "shop". Having looked my car over, has said he would willingly make the changes that are need to bring back the minor elements that made life easier. But this issue is he does not have the codes nor do I. Does someone here have codes for the Octavia vRS 2006 version and if so would they be willing to send them? Thanks Tariq
  2. Hello there, I am also looking for a remap, I was wondering if there are any reccomendations are the Northampton area? Thanks Tariq
  3. I would love to take it off your hands, just been to see the exact same model, colour etc at a dealers. That was £4800 but obviously not as well loved.
  4. The Car is back and working lovely, fortunately the garage owner is a friend, used to be an IT bod, found out he perferred racing minis and rebuilding cars, he spent lots of time and gave it some TLC. Great for me he did as it turned out that the car previously had the Dual Mass Flywheel changed, the car was converted from a DMF to a standard clutch. But in this instance the flywheel packed up and took out the clutch and part of the gearbox. So I now have a DMF, a new clutch and a repaired gearbox. so in the space of six weeks I have had a complete exhaust, a new DMF and clutch and a repaired gearbox, next up, upgrade the brakes and have the engine rebuilt. Anyone know of a rich widow????
  5. If you mean the gearbox then I do not know as I have not yet seen the parts list?
  6. Hello All, I hope someone out there recognizes my description of the problem I have with my MK1 Octavia 1.9 TD1 110. It stopped on me and had to have it towed to a garage. Pulled up on the M50 to garb something from the boot. Started to pull away 1st gear was fine put it into 2nd where it promptly made a horrendous grinding noise and stopped pulling. The car works in reverse and first gear but no other gear. The AA described the fault as the gearbox. I explained the problem to the Gearbox chap and he seemed to agree with the AA chap, however once the gearbox was stripped it turned out to be relatively fine, needed a few new bits but to major issues. Has anyone come across this before? Regards Tariq
  7. Good afternoon Guys, I hope you guys will excuse my ignorance and bare with me. Can someone can help me out here. I have a friend who runs a small garage in Northampton, he has been looking after my MK1 Octavia Elegance TDi, not quite in the same league as some cars on here but my little pride and joy(although it does needs lots of tlc). Anyway, Dave and I were talking around doing strange things with my car, such as central locking button to close the car windows and such like. As a complete novices around a car, can someone tell me if things like that are possible (Dave reckons they are and that all he needs is the information) and if it is possible, could someone please advise me where I might find the right info to make this happen? Thanks Tariq
