  1. It's a dry powder which when cooked in the oven then melts, (well kind of melts) into a high gloss finish. I don't see why you can't get the colour you want you just need to find the powder coater that will do it. If you spray on top of the powder then what's the powder doing, it's just a durable layer underneath like a primer. Seems an expensive way of doing things and more processes for something to go wrong.
  2. People look at pressure washer and seem to hung up on the PSI when it's all about flow rate. If the PSI is too high it will take your paint off or you'll have to stand further away to clean your car safely. Flow rate is as it sounds, the amount of water passing through the lance. The Nilfisk looks reasonable but for the extra money and less favourable spec I know what I'd spend my money on. The Powercraft also has a longer hose which at 6m (Nilfisk 5m) is still a little on the short side 8m would be better.
  3. Yep you're right. I've had one of these for over 2 years and gets used weekly without missing a beat. I think Baker21 also has one and he knows way more about detailing than me. Seems they've put the prices up as they were £80 when I got mine. 3 years warranty so nothing to worry about.
  4. Sounds like a reasonable result, I'd be asking for some warranty with the replacement as agood will gesture. All the inconvienence and stress with being stranded etc. Just shows you, you need to stick to your guns. shame you have to argue your point so much to get a fair outcome.
  5. What did they do to rectify the fault while it was still under warranty? Surely if they think the fault is the cluster then they would have replaced it before your warranty ran out. It seems to me that they have fobbed you off until the 3 month period then try to make a considerable amount of money for a replacement part. Just my opinion of course.
  6. I had similar issues when my Octy was in for crash damage repair. I kept refusing it when they were handing it back. Eventually the area engineer came out, inspected it and said that I can take it to any bodyshop I like. They carried out an evaluation and worked with the insurance company to get it sorted. The insurance company then claimed any extra costs back from the original repairer. I think the only way this works is if you give the original garage a chance to rectify which it looks like you have. Good luck with the repair, this can take a while but it's your car at the end of the day and it has to be done to the right standard. Al.

  8. The extra cost of all the VRS bits aren't going to be that much if it has been in a shunt and the original 1.2 bits needed changed anyway. If the airbags were deployed then a 2nd hand interior wouldn't cost that much. Still wonder what was damaged in the 1st place though!
  9. Looks well done needs lowered though (non VRS suspension maybe), was a Cat C so wonder how extensive the damage was!
  10. From 2001 onwards the headlights were a different shape as well. pre 200 they were parallel whereas the later ones were angled being wider towards the grill side. I'm fairly sure the bumper, grill and headlights would all have to be changed if you go for the newer versions.
  11. It might be an idea to give your supplying dealer a call and see what they have to say. I'm guessing they've done all the previous investigating to solve the same issue so may help with speaking to Skoda direct. Unfortunately all the dealings I've had with Skoda CS have been a waste of time but that was a 2nd hand car not a new one. I'd be wanting them to prove to you that the fault that you're paying a contribution towards has been rectified. I'd suggest offering to pay the small amount once you're happy that the work carried out is worth paying for. It's always nice when dealers start to blame the customer for faults, on a brand new car I would expect the new alternator to work well enough to recharge a new battery so there must be a fault with one of these components. All they have done on this occasion is charge a battery not fixed the reason for the voltage being low in the first place. If you're going away for a holiday what are the chances of the battery being flat enough once you come back and what happens if your alarm goes off when you're away?
  12. The swap over is straight forward as long as the larger wheels have the correct sized tyres on. You need to keep the rolling radius the same. I'd imagine that the value depending on tyres and tread depths that between £350-£400 in immaculate condition with plenty of miles left on the tyres.
  13. Is that the new Ka or a Fiesta? Look to short to be the Fiesta though. Looks cool and in the metal if it ever comes about would stand out.

MONGOOSE METEORE ELITE 2008 :: £685.06 :: BIKES :: Mountain Bikes - Front Suspension :: Pauls Cycles I was struggling to make up my mind between the Mongoose and a Cube Ltd Pro, but the Mongoose is a higher spec and £50 cheaper. I was fairly limited to which bikes I could choose from as I need something that comes in at least a 22" frame. 12 month components warranty, 2 years forks warranty and 5 years for the frame. Just need to get new pedals and we're all go. Can't wait for delivery now, it's going to be a long week I think.
  15. Gutted for you, Do you need the Gap insurance as it's going through their insurance? I guess you're not experiencing the old stiff neck problems? Hope it all gets sorted out with the least amount of hassle.
