  1. Its a very difficult if not impossible retrofit, I looked at the wiring diagram for canton and all the speakers are wired back to the amp under the passenger seat. If your ordering a new car it makes sense to get as many factory fit options a possible, saying that the one i would not tick is the powered tailgate, not read loads of amazing reviews on its reliability and its sooooooo slow, i would see if you can try one before ordering.
  2. Yes what you are describing is exactly how it works with KESSY on the Fabia and yes it is very frustrating the cabin lights don't come on until you open the door, it appears to be a feature of KESSY
  3. Looks like Skoda are doing a familiar trick to when the Fabia was released, the first batch were MY16 with no apple car play and the next to useless mirrorlink and dealers were not briefed correctly and sold the world (as they do) and then MY17 models got apple car play at no extra charge with a lot of unhappy MY16 owners (well documented on hear). Looks like the first lot of Karoq's will be MY18 with just the colour maxidot but the MY19 cars will get the digital instrument panel as standard on SEL and above at no extra charge probably. I would be very weary on this one, its a big selling point and I for one would be waiting. Skoda are being very naughty when they release cars just before a MY change and giving first adopters a raw deal! Seams the only lesson Skoda learned was not to make as much as a big deal of it and brochures etc are quite clear its defo not in there!
  4. Anything is possible, it just depends how deep your pockets are, you would need to replace the main controller in the glove box with a MIB2 unit with car play, these units are also security locked and can only be activated/deactivated/linked to the car by a Skoda dealer. Then there is the coding of the new unit, and given the time effort and cost with someone with apple car play in my humble opinion its really not worth it. It takes over everything you cant have the in built sat nav and messaging features of apple car play its all the car play stuff i.e phone maps etc or all the Skoda stuff, you cant mix and match. Plus it doent work over wireless you have to plug in with a wire, convenience is king and this is not convenient.

  6. If the plasti-dip doesn't work out the colour they use for the grill surround is black magic I believe.
  7. That catching is supposed to be there, if the cars were fitted with a speed limiter as well as cruise control then when in limit mode you wanted to over ride this temporarily then you press the accelerator past the catch all the way to the floor, then when you ease back off and dip below the set limited speed the limiter kicks back in again. Its actually really annoying feature if you don't have a speed limiter on your cruise which I think most octys don't have a speed limiter.

  9. I have candy white but have always longed for the rallye green, its an awesome colour, just not available with vRS special editions sadly
  10. The part number for OEM is 3AF943021A I got them from hear: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00QKI6JOC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Or you can ask your dealer, mine wanted £24 ex VAT but so far they are proving to be expensive compared to others for some reason! Then just get some one to code them in with VCDS, i did it today after work, was a 10 min job to fit and code. Plus if your with someone with VCDS then you can turn on a few other bits. The VCDS map will show you who is near you with VCDS.
  11. Thanks for this, noticed its a different part number to what I have 5E0 601 025 BD JX2 so will try that one and see what it comes up with
  12. Do you mind sharing the price and the name of the dealer? If it's not to far away will travel, specially if it saves £150 a wheel!
  13. Sadly yes the ones in the link are anthracite, confirmed this with Skodaparts, the 230 version of these wheels are black, but that price would be a lot better! I'm currently talking to skodaparts to see if the can source the black version, hopefully for a similar price!
  14. I friend of mine had them on an A5 with black wheels, I wasn't overly keen but when the dealer brought her car back from a service and got warm and cosy with the curb, protector looked awful but not a mark on the wheel! These look to have a lower profile, due to the rims on the 230 being black with the black gators it could look ok, checked with a dealer and roughly £400 for a new wheel (the 230 black version), these will be a very serious consideration, £400 vs £90... any one else out there had any experience of alloy protectors?
  15. You could always look at some rim protection such as https://www.alloygator.com/
