  1. Just get a whole new one... (Like we are with a complete failure and replacement under warranty at 32k miles and only 2yrs 11mths old)! Not impressed, but like above don't think there is any servicing possible.
  2. Received our scout 150 on Friday, very impressed so far. Even happier with the fact that we saved 21% off list price by going with an online car broker. Nothing to fault on car so far, slightly more body roll than the fabia vrs I have been used to, but to be expected on a jacked up 4x4 estate. Very happy with choice.
  3. Our scout 150 arrived on Friday and definitely has off road / hill descent mode available. Build date was 22nd June apparently.
  4. Great pics, thanks, looking forwards to ours in white even more now!
  5. Great stuff, glad you like it, we have a candy white scout 150 on order for late-aug. You really must share some pictures after all that bragging..??? ;-)
  6. I think I posted this question somewhere before, but can't find it now..... Does scout come with silver roof bars as standard and is the rear shelf a retractable material type or solid fibre board? Cheers
  7. Ordered our 150 scout today in white with spare wheel and 5yr warranty. Got over 20% off rrp so pretty happy so far!
  8. Will be interesting to see if our new scout turns up then. Seem good guys with my dealings with them so far, managed to provide quotes and call backs unlike most Skoda dealers I tried!!
  9. We are about to order a scout 150. It is not clear from the brochure, but does it come with silver roof rails and a retractable parcel shelf as standard?? Cheers A
  10. Cheers, buying the car to keep, so options stand. A
  11. Not tried them, mainly because of their reputation of quoting one thing and delivering something else. My time and stress levels do not want me to even consider that route ;-)
  12. We have been offered 2250 for our 05 plate fabia vrs with 98k miles and in good condition. Seems a good number to me, anyone had similar recent experience and if best to sell private or go for that p/x?? Cheers A
  13. We are planning on placing an order for a 150 scout in red tomorrow. Spare wheel and five year warranty to supplement it. Any tips on options or last minute thoughts before we put down the deposit.....? Cheers A
  14. Thanks all for the comments, spare wheel and heated seats is looking likely. Re elegance vs outdoor, once the 4x4 is on the elegance the gap very much closes in terms of rrp and i prefer styling and wheels of outdoor. With negotiation status so far may end up getting a lot of car for the money....
  15. Hi all Been juggling options of a new octy estate scout or vrs, but then realised the outgoing superb could probably be had for similar price in outdoor plus spec. Getting close to doing a deal... Any general tips or advice on the outdoor plus or any 'must have' options?? Cheers Andy
  16. Cheers. Wasn't sure if you really need to change pads at all when just replacing caliper, shouldn't need to in theory I guess, but in some cases if well worn could be worth doing whilst in there? A
  17. Hi all. Noticed a leak today on rear caliper of the missus' 05 vrs, seems to be weeping out from seal where handbrake linkage goes into caliper. Assume that this will be new caliper on that side which I may try to do myself. Anyone else seen this issue? Is it best practice to change axle set of pads at same time or axle set of calipers?? Any top tips on best place to get the replacement parts??? Thanks very muchly Andy.
  18. You'll be fine, give it at least a year and see how it goes. Our first is now one and a half and we have had no problems. Got roof bars and roofbox for holidays and camping trips, but otherwise no worries with buggies, baby seat, shopping and weekends away for the rest of the year. If we smash out a second then will probably get an Octavia scout estate, until then am going to see out the 5yr warranty. Enjoy all the baby stuff, it is great! A
  19. Thanks all for the info, all valid points that are making our decision difficult!
  20. Hi all Have been offered a 54 plate legacy at a very good price from a mate and would mean replacing the missus' 05 fabia vrs. Anyone got much knowledge of common issues and stuff to look out for? It is a 2.5 auto on 85k miles, top spec (sen) and a few advisories on mot re bush detoriation. Know that will take a hit on fuel costs, but having a big 4wd car will be a bonus for us and has lots of toys on board too. Any thoughts?? Cheers Andy.
  21. Have used hammerite smooth on previous car and despite my concerns there was no issue with high temperatures or durability. Was certainly cheaper than specific brake caliper paint too and covered very easily.
  22. I got one last year that I think was the kamei Delphin 380 in gloss black. Is very good quality and robust build and on the hatchback is a perfect fit with the aerial just clearing the back of the box and the bootlid spoiler just missing the box too. A number of trips to lake district in rain, everything dry and may have cost me 2mpg.
  23. Does this ign off, hold in odometer button, ign on, keep holding in odometer button trick work on the mk2??
  24. I've been very impressed with the conti's that have been on mine since new, but after 22k miles I have a set of Uniroyal rainsport3 that I am getting fitted next week. Top class in wet, will wear quicker but got for good price on camskill..
  25. Need some new rubber soon and purchase has been brought forward thanks to finding a screw in one of the rears yesterday! Anyone got any back to back experience of my shortlisted choices to replace the OEM contis?: Falken ze912 Hankook v12 k120 Uniroyal rainsport3 Avon zz5 Cheers A
