  1. Have a read in dealer reviews on my opinions of Clock Rainworth are good for sales Farmers for servicing etc IMHO.
  2. I tow a Pennine pop up camper with my Octy 900kgs tows great and will sit above the legal speed limits comfortably. Average around 47mpg towing too.
  3. Another one bitten by Clock Rainworth in Mansfield sorted out my Airbag isolator switch when it went faulty speak to them or Farmers in Nottingham if you want a good indie try DSB in Bulwell a search will give you their contact details.
  4. I have twin electrics and a bypass kit on my car, with a Brink fixed towbar from Towequip £275 with fitting by Skoda indie, cut out is invisible so you can unbolt the bar and it cannot be seen if that bothers you.
  5. The kit can be ordered from TPS or any VAG dealer however many of the dealers in my area deny all knowledge that a SMF option exists Is it a genuine kit? Aftermarket kits can be cheaper. Was there any goodwill discount the parts alone are more than that perhaps you just paid for labour? I think the SMF is fine as good if not smoother than a fully functioning DMF, if you live any where Derby Nottingham you are more than welcome to drive my car see what you think.
  6. How would I be able to listen to radio 4 though over the drainpipe exhaust and chattering flywheel, it would drown out the archers
  7. No thanks Jason comfort over performance for me, after the months of dual mass chatter a flywheel that light would do my head in.
  8. My Octavia ('05 1.9tdi) had developed the infamous failing dual mass flywheel, vibration and chatter. Finally got it replaced today with the genuine conversion kit from VAG (massive waiting list at the moment I was waiting for 3 months!). Initial impressions are great, vibration is virtually non-existant, no different to the dual mass flywheel when it was working, there is also no more extra noise from the transmission. Clutch operation is lighter and more progressive with far better feel. The massive improvement though is in driveability you can now drive the car on the torque of the engine making it a lot more flexible without loads of gearchanges, slow moving traffic is now bliss without having to rev the engine up to 1500 rpm to stop the shuddering. I highly recommend that if you have a dodgy dual mass flywheel to get it replaced with a single mass conversion, it turns the car into what it shouold have left the factory as. Price wise I was quoted over £900 to get this done by various Skoda dealers in my area, however I went with DSB Autocare in Nottingham and the work was done to the usual efficient high standard at a good few hundered less than the main dealer, cheers Dave. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions, also I am willing to let people have a drive if they are unsure to get their car converted or remain with a dual mass. HTH

  11. Don't know about modifications with Direct Line, but myself and my wife have been with them for 2 years now, I shop around every year and they have been extremely competative for us. I am 27y/o 6yrs no claims Octy 2 1.9 tdi 20,000 miles p/a full business use fully comp with all the extras Derbyshire postcode 209 quid! SWMBO Felicia 1.6 7500 miles 1 years no claims fault claim last year fully comp with all the extras 320 quid. SWMBO's claim last year (run into stationary traffic ) was sorted by D/L no hassle UK call centre.
  12. One more Felicia comment you are right only comes in those spec levels due to the facelift I believe. That is not bad IMHO 100 pounds more for a car with a better spec and/or a diesel or 1.6 engine.
  13. Also no hassle with electric power steering pumps and the Fabia's weak suspension. I really like the Lupo and Arosa too but for VFM I love the Felicia plus they are nice and easy to reverse with really large back windows and good visability something that my wife really struggles with I have even put reversing sensors on it for her
