  1. Ta very much, what your saying makes sense, if i understand it correctly, that its only when i floor it that it will use more, if i drive normaly, then it should use the same. I do tend to rag it round when the familys not on board though i'm definetly going to go for it after xmas.
  2. I've just sold my remapped mk1 fabia vrs, and bought a '06 octy vrs tfsi, very different cars, but both great! the fabia gained mpg slightly after the remap, but ive been told that a remap on the tfsi engine loses a lot of fuel economy. please someone tell me its not true! i dont want to go to the garage and ask, as im sure they would say it doesn't - even if it does
  3. well the more I read, the more i think I'm going to go for the petrol. I'll let you know next week, god I'm impatient, lol.
  4. Thanks very much for your replies. I think im going to have to do a test drive and see which one seems best. from what ive read i think its going to be the petrol though.
  5. Im going to buy a mk 2 octy vrs next week, having just sold my mk1 fabia vrs, the only thing is I dont know whether to go for the diesel or petrol. i wont be doing many miles, weekends mostly, with a 500 mile round trip up the motorway a couple of times a year. i havnt had a petrol car for several years, the last being an impreza wrx. my main questions are: is the diesel engine much heavier, making the front end wallowy (is that a word!?) is there a noticable lack of torque pulling away in 1st on the diesel does the petrol sound a lot better than the diesel and any thing else that i should know about. sorry if i sound like a noob, but i really cant decide which is for me. in an ideal world i would test both, but the ones ive seen that are in my price range <£6500 are all up country (im in plymouth). any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  6. yep, i'm well pleased, they were a really nice couple who bought it, they drove away with cheesey grins, lol. So now im on the lookout for a mk 2 octy VRS, ive got £6400 to spend
  7. Thanks very much, I am open to offers, so give me a try
  8. If anyone has an opinion / wishes to share their wealth of knowlege on my asking price for the Fabia, please let me know. one minute i think i'm asking too much, the next i think im not asking enough, bah!
  9. Tell me about it, it's a right s**thole
  10. For Sale. black magic fabia VRS. £5400. Its a 2005 on a 55 plate. 71500 miles. I bought it from Evans Halshaw in febuary this year for £6500 (got all receipts), its got a transferable full warranty until feb 2012. i bought it to share with my wife, but she decided it was too powerful and bought a micra, now i want something bigger. (swap?). i had the wheels refurbished last week (£235), they look brand new. Also it got brand new Toyo Proxes tyres on the front. theres no scratches or dents and the metalic black paintwork looks lovely. its got a sony bluetooth stereo, which does handsfee phone, plays music from iphone etc. also cruise control which I think is rare on these models. I had some black seat covers specially made, these set me back £150 and look really good. If it was a saloon I'd definatley keep it, but with a young family i need something a bit bigger. i had it serviced a couple of months age, and its had the cambelt, and flywheel done at the correct interval. Its got full service history, 2 keys and a hpi gold certificate I paid for when I bought it. This car has been well looked after and not thrashed, please feel free to come for a test drive, you won't be disapointed. its had a remap to 170 bhp, green cotton filter, pd160 intake. more to improve the mpg and torque curve than anything else. im after swapping for a Octavia VRS, Audi a4 or similar tel: Dom on 07976728245
