Grey smoke when turbo spooling up
Chevmyster replied to Chevmyster's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Checked for mayonaise and nothing there. Not using oil or coolant both filled correctly -
When starting my 54 plate70k fabia vrs I have stared to get excessive grey smoke + when accelerating (turbo spooling up) I used to get the usual black puff of smoke this has now gone to a large smoke screen very pale grey. Any one got ideas what is causing this. Only mod is air fiter.

My spoiler has just decided to peel the lacquer after a long run down the motor way in the wet. As this has just happened and I have not really looked into this how the hell do you get the spoiler off to get it re spayed.

I'll take a look when I finish work. ALL Thanks for your help.

Ok not being 100% where everything is in the engine where should I be looking for the intake plenum

Engine still runs smoothly ie no abnormal rattles etc and changes gear so it must be turbo related ( I hope)

My fabia VRS has just had a massive loss of power. I pulled away from a junction and had a loudish bang followed by a massive cloud of black smoke. the car then had a slight miss fire for 30seconds. It is still running but has no power and black smoke when I put my foot down. Any ideas, hopefully it is just somthing simple like a pipe off a turbo

Can anyone help. On my way to work today my VRS suddenly had a massive loss of power. There was a loudish bang and then missfire for 30ish seconds. It is now spewing black smoke out the back but running with no missfire but has no power, when I put my foot down it stutters and slowly picks up speed. I had to drive it about a mile to get it to a safe parking area, I hope it hasn't caused to much damage.

Thanks I'll search suspension bushes. hopefully it will not be to hard a fix.

I have a VRS which has suddenly devloped a loud clunk from the nearside front. I have no other issues with vague steering or badly tracked tyres. It is not happening all the time but is a bit unsettling when it does. Any ideas?
