Thanks guys, ill just buy another alternator. Does it have to be off a vrs or will any fabia 90amp with correct pulley do?

Hi guys, as you know ive been having problems with the vrs taking longer to start, limp mode etc. well at the start of the week my alternator starting screeching. I was planning to look at it this weekend but on the way to work this morning i heard it was grinding. I continued on untin i saw my battery light come on & smelled smoke. Pulled onto the hard shoulder & found the alternator pulley had come off & the belt was burning! Removed belt & drove home. What alternator do i need? Looking for a second hand one from scrappy due to needing it for monday. Could this be the cause of my other issues? Cheers, Andy

Hi guys, fitted a new camshaft position sensor yesterday. Cleared codes using vcds as there was an abs one too?? Went to start the car & problem is still there. Taking 5 seconds to start. Sometimes cuts out/limp mode. Checked with vcds & cam sensor code is back?! Timing looks ok (above) What else could this be? Should i cut my losses and sell as it is for £1k? Its easy mate, took me half an hour on sunday to do it got the fright of my life when it snapped though. I just drilled out rivets & use self tappers next to the rivet hole when re fitting. Sealed up holes left afterwards

Yeah defo all plugged in bud. Drove 100 miles in it today. Never cut out but went into limp mode but just dipped clutch and it was fine. Still taking a few seconds to start. No eml light either!

all brake lights are working fine. Where should i check for damaged wires? Common places?

What would cause the vibration/humming when ignition is on on passenger side? Only happens when light is on.

Would that cause limp mode/cutting out?

T/c does don't think the abs does though. Just flashing glow plug and car with squiggles behind it. Doing my head in!

Oh and i don't have vcds.

When i say no fault codes i mean i get the N/A code. If i clear it the vibrating stops

Hey guys, problems are back! Limp mode, cutting out too but a new one has occured. When i turn on ignition the glowplug light flashes aswell as the traction control light coming on! As these appear a humming/vibration noise comes from the passenger side! Any ideas what it could be as still no fault codes!

will do bud, don't have a torque wrench though so will have to get one from work next week. Cheers
