  1. I think they supply 16" wheels so you can have a spare that you can use as normal , which makes sense if you are off road sometime.
  2. The outdoor Superb 4x4 with no raised suspension or protective underside is about 26K. I would think the Octavia Scout with height ,and protection would probably be about the same price.
  3. Skoda have said in car.uk.msn.com."a new mk3 version of the scout will be out in 2014" I hope so. I changed from the octavia Scout to the 4x4 superb SE estate, but I miss the ground clearance.
  4. I am sure you all know this but just to be sure. You must not touch any bulb filled with exnon gas or it will reduce the life .I use a clean tissue it seems to work OK.
  5. I changed mine for EXNON 21w from MTEC Part no. MT-227 just needed to change the bulbs .Have bee in for 6 months ,no problem, very bright white, even although the bulbs are blue to look at.I can't remember where I got them from, but I think it was Japan. If you google MTEC MT-227, you should get some result .It saves faffing around with LED's and resistors etc. Best of luck
  6. I have previously owned a V70 estate, and a Mondeo estate . I now have the Superb estate SE 1.8 tsi 4X4 and I can tell you it is better by far in lots of things. 1) Great value for money. 2)Space Rear passengers and boot. 3)Reliability both Volvo and Ford let me down. 4)Tyre ware Volvo 11 k on fronts I chose the SE estate 1.8 tsi For the following reasons. 1) I only do about 8 K miles/year 2)I did not need satnav ,leather/electric seats,18" wheels, headlamp washers, and exon lights. I did add the following 1)Metalic paint cappaccino(easy kept clean) 2)mudflaps front and rear(stops chips) 3)Chrome strips on doors (for car park bumps) 4)rubber mats to hold water(snow off shoes) 5)Heated wiper nozzles(and they work) 6)insulation under bonnet( for fast heat up) 7)Spare wheel (you get all jack up tools as well) 8)Changed headlamp, and DRL's bulbs for white exnon bulbs. Hope this is of some use to you on your decision. ......
  7. I had the Octy 2 Scout 1.8 tsi for 2 years and it was fantastic the engine was smooth and responsive and the Haldex 4x4 system never let me down in both very bad winters (2010-2011) and I live near SLOCHT. Invernrs-shire. Because the Scout was no longer available in the Uk, I had to go for the Superb Estate SE 1.8tsi 4x4..I have not been dissapointed .It is as good if not better than the Scout, and the MPG is only down a lttle because of the extra weight .I get around 33 MPG on average ,and like you I only do around 8k per year .With the VAT free which is not no the deisel, it is a no brainer. Go for it!!!
  8. I think it is only on models that have electric seats as standard.
  9. Retired robotics/computer engineer ,had the Octy Scout before the Superb ,it was never in the garage for any faults.Hope the Superb is as good.
  10. I have Pirelli P7's on my SE 4X4 estate and they are very quiet.
  11. I have had the Superb 1.8tsi 4x4 SE estate for about 3 month ,and 2500M on the clock.I have done an average of about 38MPG
  12. I would not think they do one for the steering wheel, because of possible setting off the airbag.
  13. Bill2, I changed my badges and they look much better quality than the old ones .I would have thought with your black Superb, the black/chrome badges would have been ideal for you..
  14. Only had my 1.8 tsi for just about 3 months and 2K miles has not used any oil at all, as a matter of intrest the new car came with a top bottle of oil in a custom made velcro holder, Castrol Edge Profesional 5W-30.
  15. I have the Superb Estate SE No problems,I find them more comfortable than the Octy Scout. I had get seat pads for them.
  16. Was due to change my 1.8tsi Octy Scout , and could not order a new Scout. So went for the 1.8tsi Suberb SE 4X4 Estate .Have not regreted it. Much more space, a lot Quieter, better equiped, nicer shape ,and just as good to drive.
  17. It seems wierd that the Superb range still offers the 1.8TSI 160ps in the brochure.
  18. I had the 1.8TSI Scout for just over 2 years, and it never had anything go wrong,it is a lovely engine. I now have the Superb Estate 4X4 SE 1.8 TSI and it is just as good in the Superb( with a little more room in the back). Hope when comes time to change the Superb, the 1.8 TSI or equivalent is available.
  19. I sucked out the moisture on my Scout with a vac , then smeared them with silicon . Cleared the problem, and never returned at all, no mater how wet they got. .
  20. Just picked up my SE Estate estate 1.8tsi 4X4 end of May. The SE has 17in wheels and they came with pirelli P7's does anyone how the compare with the Cont2 that seemed to have been fitted previously. As a matter of fact they seem very quiet compared to my Scout fitted with Dunlop Sport 01 which I got 22k and not down to wear indicator.
  21. Thaks for the removal tips ,I will now order up some new badges. My Superb SE estate is only three weeks old.so removing the old ones should not be a problem.
  22. They look great .Was it easy to remove the old ones?.
  23. My Superb SE Estate 1.8tsi 4X4 was delivered to my dealer in Inverness last week ,12 weeks from order being placed. So 6 months seems a long time, since mine was only 3 momths.
  24. JAVINI See STOOFA post on Octavia 2 Forum. He shows part numbers from Skoda for Octavia 2 ,Front .Rear and wheels
  25. Looks like Octy is available now,and eventually Superb will also be available.Just have to be patient !!!
