  1. New rear discs/pads just fitted to my VRS. 20k miles, 2.5 years old. The inside face of the offside disc looked just like the one in the OP - drove like a mildly warped disc when braking. I'm another light brake user (IAM instructor!). Lookers (Benfield) Harrogate (I've bought 3 cars from them over the years) paid 25% goodwill which apparently obliges Skoda to also cough up 25% even though Skoda refused to foot the whole bill. Pleased with that, even if it shouldn't happen in the first place.
  2. I swapped my mk2 VRS for a mk3 in May 2014. Had spare wheel and jack with mk2. Dealer said spare wheel from mk2 would fit mk3 no problem,so just swapped for the foam that came with the mk3 on taking delivery and didn't bother to check. Have now done checked. Spare is a 16inch steel . Just as well I haven't had a puncture yet. Forum 1, Dealer 0 yet again! BTW, Mk2 jack works OK has have had wheels off so fix some VRS stickers on the calipers.
  3. I'm on holiday in France at the moment. Been here for 10 days and only seen 2 French registered vRS - a mk1 and a mk3. I bought an Auto Plus this week (Auto express) and it lists the vRS (diesel and TSI) at around 30K euros.
  4. Mine is Red but I didn't want the black pack, even with the sunroof. I like it. Probably an age thing.
  5. Same with me in below freezing conditions the other day. Took several hours after stopping to clear.
  6. Mine was done for free (Benfield Harrogate)
  7. Back to dealer today. Took them a few minutes to turn it down from the 100% it was set to from the factory, to the 0% I requested. Bingo! No more lorry sounding engine!
  8. They do fish and chips but not cars - at all, ever. At least I can now find out about meets......but that's another story!
  9. Sorry, but I'm going to have to reluctantly pull out of this - family visit.....
  10. On the basis that I haven't driven mine in the rain yet, can we have a 'clean bottom' class?
  11. When I test drove a diesel I didn't think it was too obvious, but, with my tsi engined car, in Sport mode at any rate, I think it is horrific. It's most noticeable in 5th or 6th gear on gentle throttle application when it makes the engine sound like a thumping great lorry engine!! I suppose it's fair to say that Sport mode is for the B roads and I would say that it's quite OK in that environment. In 'Normal' mode it's acceptable, but still a little annoying in the situation described above. What's 'Eco' mode?....... although that does shut it up! Just need to get used to using the vRS mode button for what it's intended and switch between modes depending on mood/road conditions.
  12. I only took a dozen or so! I think she'd fallen asleep!
  13. I'll explain when I see you - let's say 'finger trouble' for the moment! The MK3 is ace!!!
  14. It's not a fault - according to the handbook at any rate.
