Three child seats in rear of Superb s3
backdoc replied to BennyS3's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Sorry for the delay. Went on a family holiday shortly after receiving the car. Left it in an airport car park for 2 weeks!Well, the seats we bought are quite large, so it was still a tight squeeze, but I got them all in. The big advantage with these seats is they are harnessed until 8-9yo so no hunting for the belt buckle in between the seats (not a single hand would fit anyway!) The shot of the legs is with our almost 5.5yo and almost 3.5yo. The drivers seat is in my position and I'm 6ft, so there really is acres of leg room (even though our son still enjoys kicking the back of the seat........ not sure that is ever going to change unless we got a long wheelbase S class Mercedes). The wife and I both absolutely love the car. It's actually exceeded expectations. Launch control is surprisingly fast. I'm amazed how quick it feels and I suspect I've raised a few eyebrows at the traffic light Grand Prix, including my own. -

Delivery is in 3 days. Once the seats are in I'll post some pics. Looking forward to it, even though it's my wife's car! -

You are quite right. The boosters are quite a bit narrower in the base though, so I think once they outgrow the harnessed seats at 8, we'll be able to fit 2 boosters and just one of the harnessed child seats in no worries. I'm happier with them in a harnessed seat until 8 though, as all the research I've done suggests these are much safer than just a booster with a standard lap and sash belt. In Australia they recommend using a booster until the child is 145cm. -

We had the same concerns so we bought 2 of these - https://www.britax.com.au/car-seats/britax-safe-n-sound-maxi-guard/ Harnessed unti 8yo. Our kids are 5, 3 & 1 so the youngest is rearward facing at present but the eldest will be out of his seat by the time the little guy needs a booster. We've got 3 older seats in the back of our Octavia and your concern is really the only reason we've bought the Superb. The poor eldest had to climb into his seat with the seatbelt permanently clicked in as the buckle is basically under the youngest kids seat. No hand is fitting in there, even with a buckle/belt extender on. Way too squished and not safe. And the Octavia is not wide enough for those seats mentioned above. We get our Superb next week and I think the kids are more excited than us! -

Was your windscreen wiper stalk set to the Auto position? I believe this is the trigger for the auto roof and window closing in the rain. Check it with a glass of water on the windscreen -
Cheers. I guess I'm looking at my first mod then when I receive the car. I wonder what it would look like with chrome surround blacked out as well, like the VRS black pack (and from memory the Superb Sportline they showed).

Have you blacked out your grille? If yes, could you please share with us how you did this. Looks much better I think.

I think the Passat would have to be the dullest car on the road today. The new Octy looks quite nice compared to the Passat. Compared to other European cars however, it's still lagging by a considerable margin. I hope they do a nice job with the vRS.

I think in the red and on that angle, the bonet looks like it has lost height. It appears as one flat surface. The angle up is lost in that front crease. I think that makes sense.......I hope. Other pics and colors look much more in proportion.

Octavia 3 UK pricing and Availability
backdoc replied to krob2's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
You guys are funny with prices. My 2010 vRS, with leather, sunroof and tow bar cost almost $50k. On current exchange rates, your 18k car should've cost me around $27k. Let's see what the price difference is with the new car..........I expect to be paying $50k again :( -
And a panoramic roof!

Not sure if this pic will work but I think the estate (wagon) as we call it, looks fantastic. I have a current model vRS wagon which I really like, but looks wise I'm not in love with it, but this new one looks great. http://motoroids.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/2013-Skoda-Octavia-Combi-Launch-1.jpg
