Problem with car it was pulling to the left, the technician checked the alignment & it was accurate they provided a print out of the cars settings. Advised to swap rear tyres around after doing this the car started pulling to the right, they got to the route of the problem a faulty rear tyre. Free of charge to swap wheels & check suspension & steering. Charged me £48.00 for the check & minor adjustments made. If your in the North West & need alignment doing pay them a visit.

Likely to be a boost leak, I had a similar problem. Cable tie crossed around the clips secured it in the end, look for the bottom and top part of the intercooler hoses they usually come loose overtime. Cable tie secured it & the whistle went away, if your boost pipes are on secure, it may be your turbo is on its way out many on here have reported it as a police siren at its worst. You could also strip the bumper of and take a look to see there are no holes in the intercooler allowing boost to leak.

What a p*** take! To be fair its just the weather taking its affect on your car, any car parked up for a little while in this weather will suffer the usual cold symptoms. Flat Battery Frozen Engine Frozen doors and windows If it had a strong battery and fairly good working glow plugs I cant see it causing any problems. All cars have had the cold this winter just some worse than others. Be patient, some boiling hot water should free up the lock mechanisam. I hope you left the interior map lights off because if the car doors are open the lights will be open draining your battery dead.

Which colour suits the Auris better?

I test drove an Auris 2.0 diesel TR spec what ever that means... The Fabia has a much more agressive punch, as mine is standard the power runs out, anyway the Auris does feel slow but it does seem rev happy, and dosent feel diesel at all & that interior is brilliant. 300Nm of torque but dosen't feel like it for some reason? would get boring after a while but hey its not for me.. May go and test drive the 2.2 SR I would recommend the new Octavia VRS to him but he wont have it. Do they suffer any common faults and are they easy to service MattyD you maybe able to answer. DMF & turbos are they strong Fuel filter location easy DIY? & do they need special oil like the PD engines Info appreciated

Anybody know much about the Auris 2.0 d4d? Spec wise they compare to the Fabia VRS, but with slightly less power at 126BHP and 300nm/221 lb-ft. I know may sound like a daft question asking on a SKODA forum, but surely one or two of you may know anything about them? Just looking for a car for my brother wants it to be diesel & jap. Thanks

Manchester has had plenty of snow. Have to say im running on Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3 and they are doing well so far. With the aid of my spade here and there I have only used it once ot twice but thats becuase of pure ice.

Feel bad for you having to shift all that snow!!! I called in today to ask if the office is open & I got laughed at getting a response "Do you think your in norway" lol.. Your best bet would be to hire a car if you have access the pigy bank to avoid going through the disiplinary route, seems a little unfair despite you have put all your efforts in, & only for the workplace to be closed where is the logic in that? Just goes to show at times like this it shows which of us is out there freezing our ass off just to get to work where as others are lying in bed with their cats or dogs claiming of the goverment and yet our efforts are not appreciated! :wonder:

Check your tyre tread & pressures and replace if you must because they are vital in this weather. Take your time (Drive slowly) around bends in particular Use higher gears it reduces wheel spin Keep a longer distance from the car infront Brake much earlier and dont panick when anti-lock braking system kicks in the brake pedal vibrates, gentle braking on and off prevents sliding

Dont worry could have been alot worse, consider yourself lucky to walk away. Just be gentle as possible in the snow. Looks like the Fabia Can take a smack, look at that corsa. Anybody know what safety rating they have?

I agree things do go wrong more often its not just Skoda, same issues occur with many VAG cars. All depends on how your car has been maintained you cant fault SKODA in particular. If your thinking of getting an AUDI, VW, SEAT, dont because they share similar parts depending on the model obviously. Go Honda or Toyota and you will not regret it! Pure reliability!

I wouldnt be surprised if it struggles its been minus degress allow the glow plug lights to go out before trying to start. To ease starting: Glow plugs - allow the coil light to go out, I turn the ignition off and back on allowing the glow plugs to warm up twice before attempting to start Keep the diesel tank above half - because it turns thicker it reduces the the flow rate so having more diesel means its picking up a little easier Battery - Keep it charged by doing over a few miles journey rather than short distance, turn music wipers, heaters everything off before trying as they put strain on the battery Anti-freeze G12 Coolant - Make sure its topped up Fuel Filter- Depending on when it was last changed are known to get water in this weather either replace it or drain the water out of the filter

Get a spade to make a clear path and get some grit, or some old carpet or car mats even cardboard. Manchester isnow -5 degress but yet no snow. I want it to snow but then I dont because of getting stranded I would hate to abandon the car because its stuck

Recently I noticed a water leak on near the front passenger side it appeared to be the washer fluid leaking. Checked the connections on the pump they were secure im aware cold weather the hose can pop off. So far I have replaced: O ring what goes on the bottle Washer pump Still leaking the water emptys within a week Next guess is its the actual washer bottle? I dont fancy taking the bumper off and the under engine cover off in this weather just to take a visual look. Anybody had this problem? Any of you have the part number for the washer bottle? Thanks in advance!

Yes the V Tread Eagle F1 but I guess il just have to be abit more careful, might just swap the rear to the front if the front realy are so bad, cant remember what make is on the back. Is traction control no help in snow?

Evening all, just watching the news heavysnow fall predicted. Scotland and North east have seen some heavy snow. Im in the North West Manchester to be precise no snow here yet but its only Thursday night. Im running Goodyear eagle F1 Tyres so iv heard they are no good in snow, Setting off in 2nd/3rd gear surely cant be good for the dual mass flywheel?

Glad its sorted would never have expected it to be that Anybody know where the ECU is located? I thought the ECU is under the bonnett behind the air box, silver anybody know what that is?
