  1. Hi guys long time, no post, so hope you don't mind me asking a question. I have an Octavia 2.0 tdi with the DSG box which I've owned from new 18minths ago apart from niggles with the infotainment unit (head unit replaced twice, glovebox unit once) I've been happy with the car however, when started from cold, and the gearleaver shifted to reverse, drive is often very slow in being taken up, almost like the car is being held back by a large elastic band attached to the front of the car in addition there are time when the car stalls or nearly stalls when reversing (also happened a few times when moving off from stationary, usually when the stop-start has activated). does anyone have any experience of the above symptoms and what outcome did you get to if any? im sat at my local Skoda dealer (Bristol Street in chesterfield who are brilliant btw) and know that the diagnostic check that will be run on my car will reveal nothing (that's not being critical of them)
  2. Hi I'm coming to this a bit late. I took delivery of a new Octavia SE-L 150 tdi DSG estate in late March of this year. After a couple of months I started to experience the dreaded 'start-up' issue, where my Amundsen unit would often take several minutes to start, and then switch on and off a couple of times before starting fully. The issue was recorded on my iPhone and I took the car in to the supplying dealer. They looked at the car but could find no fault (no fault codes etc also) I emailed the footage (needing to use DropBox as the footage was too large for them to receive by usual email transmission...) The cars unit then failed again, and the dealer took the car in and fitted a new unti. Which worked fine...until later that day, when the issue started again. Thre car has been returned for the third time (3 days ago) and although the unit failed once whilst with them this time, it apparantly hadn't failed since.... Now, the service reception staff are fantastic, and I can't fault them, but for a new car to have an ongoing issue isn't acceptable. I love the car, and it does everything I need, but I also need sat nav, and if it fails whilst I'm in France on holiday next month, I'll be lost. Is there any fix available other than fitting another unit? I'm getting t the point where I'm going to request the car is rejected, as I chose it partially for the inbuilt nav....
  3. Thank you, I'll try my local, Rainworth Skoda, as they are brilliant but I'm preparing for having my pants pulled down.....

  12. Hi guys A bit of help required please; I have a 53 reg Octavia vRS estate and as stated above when the left indicator is depressed it works fine until I press the brake pedal, then it speeds up to approx twice normal speed. This is only when using the left indicator and when the brake pedal is depressed at the same time At any other time both left and right indicators work fine Just a quick thought, I wonder if it makes a difference but the high level brake light is completely missing ? Any help gratefully received Thanks

  17. Sorry, I don't want to split the wheels and tyres, as I need them gone Courier would be by your arrangement gunscrossed, not sure how Much each wheel-tyre combo weighs; where are you, I could travel a reasonable distance. As we have had 4-6" of snow here in Daaaaarbtshire, anyone interested?
  18. Thanks for the feedback, appreciated; unlike some forums I can mention where the feedback is aggressive and often abusive!!! Personally I wouldn't want mint alloys to use in winter with winter tyres, but each to their own, and these are better than average (aside from ones that have had a refurb imho) In that case, reduced to £300
  19. Well, either these are too expensive or there is pre-Christmas apathy!?!? I've just fitted a set of winter tyres to my Subaru Forester, grab yourself a set of excellent condition alloys with excellent tyres before apathy turns to regret when the white stuff falls and you can't get about!!!!
  20. Price reduced to £45 if anyone is interested?
  21. Please also see my other advert for a set of brand new vRS floor mats
  22. Sadly, I've had to sell my fabulous vRS due to illness. I have a pair of genuine Skoda OEM brand new vRS front floor mats for sale, still in their bags The same mats are advertised by The Skoda Shop at £68 / pair inc vat (plus £8.12 postage) Please note; the mats are dark charcoal (black?) with light grey edging and 'vRS' embroidered on COLLECTED ONLY please from S42, 6HG (Chesterfield, Derbyshire, 5 miles from J29 of the M1) Please ring me on 07400 599499 or email on [email protected] If anyone is interested, I'd like £40 for them, the money will go to charity. Thank you Tracy
  23. I have 4x 17" Octavia vRS alloy wheels fitted with winter M&S tyres for sale The alloy wheels are in excellent condition, no distortion or damage, and have been very well cared for. The tyres are Nangkang 225/45 r17 94v M&S s which have 5mm+ of tread. They tyres are in excellent condition with no sidewall or tread damage as far as I can see. The cheapest I have seen new versions of these tyres retail is £66.30 each, which with p&p comes to £277.16 for 4. Then add £10 / tyre for fitting and we are looking at around £317. Ok, the wheels and tyres aren't brand new, but are as near to new as you can get realistically. The Sun newspaper quoted The Met Office in saying we are going to have 3 weeks of bad weather with ice and snow and temperatures down to -8. So, don't risk being caught out, get yourself a set of wheels and tyres and be prepared ! I am asking £375 which I think is reasonable. Collection only from S42 6HG I am 4 miles south of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, 5 miles from J29 of the M1 and 11 miles from J28 of the M1 at its junction with the A38 Any queries, please feel free to email me on [email protected] or ring / text on 07400 599499
