  1. Hi there! I have a 2007 Octavia Combi (TDI 2.0) bought in 2011 and it came from the factory with the factory "sports" option meaning it had some interior extras like the three-spoke wheel in leather, plus it was lowered compared to the stock version. Now that the right-side front spring has broken I'm hoping to find myself a replacement spring (or the complete shock absorber/spring unit) but I can't figure out what part differs between my car and the stock one so that I get a matching part. Is it a different spring, shock absorber or both? Does anybody here know?
  2. A small heads-up on those 3dcarstickers.com badges. For some moronic reason the guy who did those didn't use a 2d logo but went with a 3d logo underneath the resin (which would make it plenty 3d on its own). Pictures in post #17 of this thread.
  3. I'm considering the same upgrade - Surely there must be someone at BRISKODA whoäve already done this?
  4. Yup. Looking forward to those pics. Yours is blue as well then? (Found another angle ) My bad. Those are of course 19" Over here (in Sweden) a towbar is ~£1000 - too little ol' me that's not minimal cost on a £13,000 car but to each his own. I wasn't really looking for a vRS and found a mint '06 2.0TDI with considerably lower mileage (just 28,000 miles) at the right price (~£11,000) just after so I went with that one. Besides, since Swedish asphalt is *much* less smooth than the stuff you drive on because it provides better grip in the winter. Driving on that with 19" wheels makes an Octavia *very* noisy up here and I didn't think I was going to convince SWMBO the cool look would be worth it.
  5. I considered buying this vRS which had the same 18" RS4 B7 rims but it got scratched off the list because it had no towbar. :( On these rims I think the neutral center caps looks better than Skoda ones (but your gun metal colour is superior on anything but vRS blue cars).
  6. I found this fuzzy little guy inside my in-law's kitchen two summers ago and put a glass over him and a paper underneath and took him out. Outside I turned the glass over expecting him to fly away, but he just climbed to the rim of the glass and sat there, looking at me for a while allowing me to snap a few shots off. Didn't have my real camera, just an Sony DSC-T100 compact, but it turned out pretty nice.
  7. I figured I should post a picture of mine in the real thread as people are more likely to find the pic useful than in the center cap thread I made. I went with a used set from an Audi A4 and got 205/55R16 Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 tyres (with the square studs) on seven-spoke 16" Audi Abitos (ET42).
  8. I will try and remember to post a picture of the caps come spring to let you know how they survived a Swedish winter. At the moment we're not seeing much of it though - haven't seen temps below zero (Centigrade) yet in the Stockholm area which is *way* warmer than normal. Those Abitos sure look good - don't they?
  9. Just to please Gizmo ( ) I snapped a couple of closer shots today. Since the resin wasn't properly centered ( ) on the logo on one of the stickers there is a thin grey line visible on the left side of it on the close-up. You'd have to come pretty close to notice it though... Apologies for the poor quality - cell phone camera and not much daylight up here in Sweden at the moment (and even worse when you work nights and sleep half the day).
  10. I just remembered that I didn't post here about the finished result. I ordered a set of four Skoda resin stickers from www.3dcarstickers.com which turned out to be somewhat bad. If you look at their picture you notice a 3D shine on them which I supposed came from the decal actually being in 3D, but it turned out the schmuck had used a Skoda logo with 3D shading(!) and then covered it with resin. Thinking I would at least see how it looked I tried them on and getting them to stick to the domed original cap was no problem just using the sticker's own adhesive. I decided it would work for this winter, but will probably try and find a replacement set later on. Summer: 17" Skoda Pegasus - Winter: 16" Audi Abitos
  11. I too would be interested in vinyl matching the stuff on the strips along the doors. All other stuff I've seen have been terribly glossy. Do post your findings if you order a sample pack.
  12. Aren't you afraid people not "in the scene" will think you're trying to make your Å koda into a poor-man's-Audi? Or doesn't "off-scene" people count?
