  1. I'm kind of tempted but not sure if i could hack the caps being audi
  2. I would be on this for my golf if I hadn't just treated myself to an ipad air. Would you swap for a 2 week old ipad air?
  3. How much is a set for a mk5 golf gti? Would they be okay paired with DS2500 or pagid blue?
  4. Can't wait to see what you do now mr Huxley the car in its previous guise was so lush
  5. I have the KW variant 1 basic around £450 and they are great. I have them set quite high as I live out in the sticks, they look to go very low though. Far lower than one would call 'sensible'. Pretty comfortable as far as my limited experience of coilovers goes. Don't need shortened drop links which is a bonus!
  6. I got alpine speakers from halfrauds. I think they were on sale at £40ish. they're great! Never had any issues with the sound, I have a sub though, and without, the bass is lacking. I expect there are better ones out there for the money, but these suit me just fine. I used mk4 golf adapters. Simply drill out the rivets and replace with the supplied cage nuts and screws. Remember to get some new clips for your door trims
  7. You might be able to get the code from a dealership. Failing that, somebody in your area with vagcom will probably be able to help
  8. There's an official Briskoda one I think which is quite nice
  9. Would I be able to put this into a mk1 fabia? Does anyone know the sizes? Obviously I would need to source an airbag
  10. Hey guys, just ordered a fresh gearknob and gaiter and have noticed that my steering wheel is starting to look awful tatty. So what are the options for replacing it. I'd like something a bit sportier, found one on eBay for £150ish that looks like an R32 wheel without the flat bottom. If rather not pay money for a used R32 wheel as I know they go for like £200 odd for a used one. So, what else will fit? I'm guessing octy and golf wheels? I want to retain the standard airbag too Any ideas? Or pictures?
  11. Im considering getting a new car and seeing as though skoda and vw no longer offer a small 'warm' diesel, I've been drawn towards the new seat ibiza fr. They do a 2.0 cr tdi with 143bhp with a quoted 60.1mpg combined which has interested me. Went and drove one at the weekend and it reminded me of the first time I drove my fabia. The interior is a little bland but so is the fabia's really. it drove really nicely and felt just about quick enough. Apparently a stage 1 map gets them to 195bhp, which I imagine would make it a fair bit quicker than my stage 1 mapped fabia. They seem to be relativly tuneable for now and im sure as the cr engines get older more people will develop stuff for them. Its also pretty cheap to insure and i think £100 road tax. Wondered if anybody had driven one and had any thoughts? Or would like to chip in any other contenders I've missed? Pete
  12. I agree, their service when I had my car mapped was brilliant.
  13. My relatively well trusted local garage has diagnosed a dead alternator. something to do with something being bent. judging how by it had chewed up the belt i fitted the other day this sounds about right. I'm expecting the bill to push £220 :/ This is the latest in a long line of medium to high cost faults on my car spanning the last year. its getting close to 180k miles and I'm starting to think I should chop it in and get something newer :/
  14. I will have a try at doing it myself tomorrow if I can find somewhere to get the part. But I have to go to work tomorrow night and these 'really easy' jobs have a habit of taking a lot longer than expected...:/
  15. The tensioner certainly felt to be working when we fitted the new belt. Definately working although the belt wasn't mega tight. But it wasn't noticeably loose. Gonna have a ring around some places tomorrow and see who can do it for me
  16. No, I don't. Hence why I didn't let them fit the new belt. Anybody got any ideas which pulley is most likely to have given way?
  17. Hey guys. Aux belt went on my 05 vRS the other night. Got a new belt and fitted it yesterday but come to the car today, drove for a while and noticed my battery light on again. Looked under the bonnet and lo and behold the belt is off again. There's been a squeaking noise coming from one of the tensioners or pulleys recently but everything looked straight when I fitted the new belt. Also for what it's worth kwik fit said all the pulleys were fine and the tensioners also. They did manage to order in 2 belts both were the wrong length so I took the car home and fitted one from a motor factors. Anybody got any ideas? Happy new year!!!
  18. I agree a black rim would look cack. For now I think I will rebuild them with chrome powdercoated lips and silver centres and see how I feel in summer about the colour. Might try white. Don't suppose you know where I can get the centre nuts from do you Matt? I just want a set of 4 standard centre nuts without the surrounding plate.
  19. I have mine for sale if anybody would like to pm me about it. It's located near rugeley in Staffordshire.
