  1. i bought a kerbed full size alloy for the vrs and that fits ok, cost £90 off ebay with tyre. It just means I dont have to rush to get the space saver off again when I get to my destination. I wouldn't like to be away on holiday and have to rely on the space saver for a week or mess around looking for a new tyre while away but thats probably because Im lazy one here for 75 without tyre but it looks pretty damaged, id be asking if its bent, repaired etc so you have a case to return should there be any problems http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-18-GENUINE-SKODA-OCTAVIA-VRS-GEMINI-DIAMOND-CUT-ALLOY-WHEEL-/112360908071?hash=item1a293b6527:g:aOcAAOSwpP9Y5hTZ
  2. i second the plastic one, its an awesome piece of kit, probably the best purchase I've made for the octavia. I know a lot of you have the rubber one but I prefer the hard plastic one, it just gives me a bit more peace of mind over the rubber. http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Boot_Dish_Plastic_(Octavia_3_Estate)_5E9061162 http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Boot_Dish_Plastic_(Octavia_3_Hatch)_5E5061162
  3. Im just about to buy this - has anyone recieved the £5 voucher code message from microsoft on their xbox - use by today? I only had one on my daughters account :(
  4. Just find an extra £2k and go new :p or do a bit more shopping around, might find one for less than this but its where I bought mine from in 2015. http://www.discounted-new-cars.com/outright-purchase-cars/skoda/octavia-hatchback/octavia-hatchback-20-tsi-vrs-5dr-98912
  5. ohhhh Thanks Moggy, I'll put it down to it being really cold but if it happens again I'll flag to skoda.
  6. ha, no not my car but only video I could find with a similar sound, Im thinking a belt or something similar. The car is on 40k miles now so pretty high for 20 months old but never heard it before.
  7. Jumped in the octavia (2015 petrol vrs) yesterday morning and when I turned the key I got a noise like the one in this video below, Ive never had it before and it hasnt happened since, temp was cold yesterday too. Any idea what it is?
  8. Im currently on SSE and have found the service absolutely faultless. I moved from BT but I always move around for the cheapest deal anyway, sometimes to good effect and sometimes not. I haven't had to contact them but to be honest I completely understand I probably wouldn't get far if I did have to... I havent seen any traffic shaping whatsoever and with the whole family using kodi, p2p and online gaming I did half expect to see something - even my bt service used to have an issue at around 11pm that has gone away since moving. cant see any cashback at the moment but I did get £77 cashback via topcashback so worth keeping your eyes peeled. I couldnt get close to the offer with anyone else, £21 a month incl line rental - after cashback it was 14.33 a month all in.
  9. the plastic boot dish is amazing, i prefer it to the rubber ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251329112539?lpid=122&chn=ps&googleloc=1007239&poi=&campaignid=207297426&device=c&adgroupid=13585920426&rlsatarget=pla-146652013986&adtype=pla&crdt=0
  10. I know, Im well chuffed - 4 conti sport 3's for 120 quid - sure, not as good as the 5s i have on at the moment but for 30 pound a corner I honestly cant complain. I picked it up from hotukdeals but thanks for posting on here as well.
  11. after a few reviews and a note on facebook i recieved an apology from mytyres and the below email Your order RD ********* Order Date: 07/04/2016 Customer Number: ********* Order Number: ******* Hanover, 15/04/2016 Dear Mr Mikef, The item you have ordered was marked with an incorrect price due to system bug in data transfer. We would like to inform you that we have sent your refund request to the accounting department for all the necessary actions to be taken in order for the refund of the price difference to be made as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. RD 26300339: 4 x Continental SportContact 3 225/40 R18 92W XL with kerbing rib, (Su) Kind Regards, The Team at mytyres.co.uk
  12. OK... The tyres were delivered today but mytyres have decided to take the full amount from my card despite the order having a price of 120.40 and the website showing 120.40. Obviously the way the law works they cant just take 336.00 off my card so Ive just sent all the details to barclaycard dispute resolution and I'll let them deal with it.

  15. was the graph something you updated manually or are you able to pull these stats from vagcom etc?
  16. you have to go on the free walking tours that leave from vorosmarty square, id do this first before anything else as it will give you a great grounding - they will let you know whats a rip off etc and are very passionate about their city. Either the Jewish one which will give you a good understanding of history, hungarian nazis etc as well as showing you the trendy part of Budapest. The general one which will cover everything including the old town and give you a good grounding for further exploration. Unfortunately I didnt do the communist walking tour but Im sure its just as good. The bus tour is ok but the pre recorded drivel is pants compared to these. St Stephens Basilica is good but make sure you walk to the top as the view is great. we had a bite to eat here, and then went back again... http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g274887-d6507873-Reviews-Farm-Budapest_Central_Hungary.html it was nice, relaxed and inexpensive, id recommend it to chill out in the evening Its a great place, we didn't do the ruin bars but wish we had. Loads to see and do though, it was good to go on the Jewish tour and then go in the hospital in the rock as there's still quite a bit of right wing propaganda following years of communist rule that you got a sense of in the hospital that you wouldn't have had an insight into had you not been on the tour. I cant wait to go back though and I'm pretty sure you'll have a great time - good choice
  17. copied this from my facebook Just a quick bit of info for people who have bought their kids segways or hover boards or any other electrical device for Christmas, plugs like this are illegal in the UK for a few reasons. First off there is no fuse fitted to the plug which offers no protection against shorting out or overheating, secondly the pins are too close to the outer case which could possibly electrocute you if removing from a socket, and finally you can see how the earth pin is partially sheathed (the top one) this offers next to no earth connection at all. These plugs come with a CE Mark on them which is not any sign of conformity to the British electrical regulations, all plugs being used in Britain must have the British Standards Mark BS1363 printed on them. If any of your chargers have plugs without the BS1363 Mark on them cut them off and fit a new plug with the relevant sized fuse (most of these chargers run at 2A so fit a 3A fuse). Pass the message on people it might just save someone you love.
  18. I need to get there, went to it in Haslingden and its pretty cool - the only thing I didnt like was not being able to hear the scores on some of my favourite classics because of all the noise :( They have a facebook page you can follow here https://www.facebook.com/arcadeclubuk/?fref=ts

  24. She denied it but when her husband came home he pretty much turned round and said ok. It was pretty clean cut as the transfer was still on her car. Went down to my local body shop and they quoted 150 to sort it so not all that bad, will take the quote round tomorrow... Hope it looks ok afterwards though, you can't see it on the pic but some of the plastic is rubbed down :( Dash cam was worth it
