I bought a VW Polo 1.2 TSI + 7 speed DSG and I hear this hissing sound every time I switch off the engine. The sound is very similar to what the suspension makes while crawling over speed bumps, may be I will record it and upload the video. But it seems many of you have already been facing it. Any luck with this hissing sound after engine switch off? Any tips?

Sadly, I bumped into this thread today! I am in India and I drive the Octavia II (FL) 1.8 TSi (bought in Feb 2010). So far I have done 35000km and it's an absolutely trouble-free car and a joy to drive. But this thread shook me a bit. Any signs of the timing chain trouble I should watch out for?

HOWTO: New Octavia - Headlight Bulb Change
anandpadhye replied to andy2407's topic in Skoda Octavia Guides
I changed the left headlight bulb (low beam) following the steps in the first post back in February 2013. Had a tough time disconnecting the wiring harness connector at that time and somehow pulled it out but it took 20 min or so -simply because I did not know what I was doing - I was wrestling with it. Now, 2 weeks ago, right headlight low beam bulb went kaput. So I searched online for some easy way to disconnect the wiring connector and found this: It's for Audi, but the Octavia 2 also has a very similar connector and using this method (open the side latch by turning a screw driver), I could disconnect the connector in a few seconds. Though of sharing it here in case it's useful. Regards, Anand -

Hi, Thank you very much. I am from India and I have the facelifted Octavia 2 (Feb 2010 make). My left low-beam light stopped working today and I will try the procedure as you have described. BTW, do you know if it's easy to check if it's the fuse that is blown or the bulb? Is there a separate fuse for each lamp? Thanks again, Anand
