That’s the best advice yet so I’ll give it a go on my return home. Not much out there on Google & YouTube. (Disclaimer Other search engines and Streaming services are available 😁)

I retrofitted a Garmin Infotainment module into our Citigo a while ago but other than be useful as a basic SatNav I can’t get any vehicle data produced through it. I get blank dials. The module was purchased 2nd hand via eBay. Do I need to ‘pair’ it to the vehicles ECU, I see no way of doing this. Any positive comments would be appreciated 🙂

My fellow Briskodians, many thanks for all the feedback, I have some homework and fiddling to do. I found the DLR and also have now turned down the volume of music when reversing, a preference of mine. So again thank you all

lfc958, I feel like I've just had a right dressing down No there is no sensor, and no I did not select auto lights as an option as it's a 'used' purchase. As for the lesson on not driving with side lights on, well let's not go there. But that said I appreciate the feedback on these latest changes to lights usage and the lack of a warning of lights left on. Now what's this about the DLR. A quirky train line that does its job, but how can that be of any help.

Hi thanks for the feedback and interesting, I hadn't heard of that before regards 30mph limitaton. I'll check that out. I read about the lights being turned off with the key removed but just miss a reminder to simply turn them off. As for auto headlights I considered whether I had these but think not. I'll have to have another look but the manual indicated a certain lights knob which I don't have. No worries, a bit more investigation needed.

Had my Fabia III Monte for several months now and want to ask about side lights being turned on but the dash doesn't. Struggling to get used to having to have full beam on when side lights would do....... but no dash lighting up. Whats more I used to like the alarm when you left the lights on with ignition off whilst exiting the car. Where's that gone. Appreciate any pointers.

Just thought I'd add that since getting our Monte Carlo with the 1.2 engine I have been more than impressed. Great little looker and so nippy out and about town. I love it and whilst I was worried about losing my Octy Vrs I have no reservations what so ever. Pulls well on long runs too, it's great.

I had a similar thing occur on my Octavia and it was down to the mirror simply coming away from the back plate. I was able to remove it and using double sided sticky pads re-attach it. No further problems after that.

How much are you young drivers paying for insurance?

Not sure if the requirement to be a civil servant applies any more  but I'm sure they'd put you right if that was the case. Good luck either way. -

Hello fella, I've just added my 17 year old son to my policy so he can learn on the roads and so I know what a problem it is for getting a decent price. Have you thought of joining a motoring club and looking at the benefits they offer. The CSMA for example offer discounted insurance through Frizzel/Liverpool Victoria Insurance. It may be worth trying to get a quote that way. -
Cheers All, it all sounds positive at the moment so I'll consider giving it a go when the new beasty arrives. Thanks for the feedback.

The fishing line I had considered, did the meths leave any mark on the paint work?
-
I fancied having my new car badgeless, apart from the Skoda emblem front and back and was told that it couldn't be provided that way. I'm guessing the name and varient badges are just stuck on, but has anyone done this without leaving nasty marks on the paintwork.
