You could always asked someone in your area, off here. to use there VCDS

It really wants plugging into VCDS Could have a faulty cluster/control module

You might also need to change the coding, in the telephone module. Also the steering wheel might need re-coding in order to use the buttons properly Whats not working at the min?

Try clearing the faults, and re scan. Are you having any trouble with the BT? -

This is been discussed with the golf MK5 some fix the problem by fitting a new battery, something to do with crank speeds Some also starter motor -
See if there is anybody in you area with Vag-Com, Could be a number off things Theres a VCDS map in the diagnostics section

Try looking on ebay, they come up now and again, Vag-Com would probably show the fault

You also need the full activated version to perform some things

I had them on mine, for the price etc they are good tryes, with good grip too, mine lasted around 6 months doing 450-500m a week, iv since changed to Avon ZV5 and i just got 9 months with the same miles
