not been since 2018 , we did the NC500 though, which was fun, we also did a europe trip including all the Alps roads 203,000 miles now.... its kinda retired, the family car is the fabia 2 vRS we bought this year to replace our rusty as fook audi.... planning on going back to the ring next year if we can! recent pics of the cars

quick update, he's still going, another MOT passed, put a sports cat in it now, its taken the edge off the performance , but its all legit and legal now

thats part of the breather system, just replace it.

feeling a bit down, in this second 'lockdown' struggling for money really, having 3 cars is a luxury for just two of us... anyone want to buy it? MOT and service within last few hundred miles, x4 "as new" tyres, goodyear F1 supersports on the front, Goodyear F1 asymetric 5s on the rear (less than 200 miles ago) make me an offer. (except Haydn (nice yellow vRS) ) . its no going anywhere unless an enthusiast wants it, to keep it alive, and NOT break it. PMs only, any posts on here will be deleted... (to be fair this will probably be deleted as its not paid for ad...)

I hate it when this happens..... a good 5mm on x2 michelin pilot supersports :( not having unmatched tyres, put x2 new goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 5 s on .... other supersport is for sale on ebay if anyone wants it! £200 bill when I really don't need it :(

its been running a bit rough, so for the sake of £9 I changed the plugs, they were pretty much welded in place, think they had been there a long time, didn't look too bad though, seems happier with the new ones in

nice, at least you know the engines well, will be interesting to see what its like on track in comparison... can you turn the ESP completely off? haven't had the quattro on track, but on the road its interesting, power understeer, transfers to total grip as the haldex sends power backwards.... you've done them all now, FWD, RWD, now 4WD! :O oh, and watch for fire when messing with those injectors

I had to wonder what they were playing at , no mention of the missing cat! however....they changed the oil and the plugs, and kept running additives through it... and they eventually got it down (just) to the required amount! :O with NO cat! :O Gobsmaked to say the least ........

The car has a de-cat, and a custom map to match the hardware (3" downpipe and 3" system using powerflow boxes) ... the same place has been MOT ing it for the last 4 years, I always assumed they were not checking the emissions, as people with sports cats struggle to pass let alone NO cat! :O however this year it failed on emissions :

well, Daddy Phantom lives to fight another year .... seems to be getting harder though... found rust for the first time.... i suppose its 19 years old now, so to have none before this is ok... and its where the sill is bent from idiots jacking it up wrong... needed welding for MOT, so fixed.....

custom turbo back on mine using powerflow boxes... pretty loud to be fair, but If you do cat back will be much quieter

I know! I keep thinking , must soon go up.... next MOT I will need a little weld to sort my bent sill out! 😮 but determined to keep it top condition~! we even saw as many alfa Brera's as we did mk1 vRSs! the one we saw was parked up too... its happening with the mk1 mx5s.... prices are steadily rising for ones that are not rusting away! This was skodas first RS , and a rally winner... so got to be a special place for them!

Yeah its the "series one" electric power steering, all one unit including control ecu.... apparently they do fail, there has been two updates! 😮 £129 for a reconditioned rack, electrics all included ect , so not too bad... but hopefully mech can fix it cheaper, back with him now... amber light came on first, steering still working, then red light, and power failed completley.... hopefully its something bloody easy like poor battery voltage after being left for months or something ...

only saw one other mk1 vRS the whole weekend.. must be getting rare , we saw about 10 teslas for example! Passes a milestone.... still running well.

right.... bloody wheel bearing issue caused the need for a whole new hub, as all bolts "welded" together with rust... well, rebuilt the whole hub, took weeks to get parts etc ... and now on the way home th ebloody power steering failed 😞 I'm begining to hate this car ...

well, we got fed up with the volvo braking.... time to move on... welcome mummy phantom.... a little difficult buying ash a car thats arguably better than my octy, but there ya go! lol..... we were looking at at a mk2 octy vRS, but found these little A3s with the same engine, but with added 4wd! its fully loaded being an s-line, 18's heated leather etc etc ....

well, finally got myself a new mx5.... looked really good, turns out it was rotten ... I had a choice, either loose the £1800 i spent on it, or spend a shed loads more, getting it fixed and saving it.... I refused to be beaten, it needed a lot of welding, including a chassis leg! :O and a wiper mech, and some work on the lights.... it took a LOT of effort to find someone willing to take on the work, and even he said, if this was an old for ka or something , Id tell you to throw it away ... only because this will go up in value am I willing to do it...... so , all in £2500 ...... I then looked on the web for genuinley rust free v-specials in unmodded factory condition with all the right parts like mine, and was amazed to find them at about £4k ! :O happily this will only go up in value now... not many proper v-specials left... everything works now, including the VLSD, windows etc etc...
