1. Yes I'll switch in a month or so, for the first to winter tyres. Just booked at the Skoda service. They are offering two different sets of Yeti's tyres (with iron wheel) for the 94H index type, Continental 205 55 16R 94H @ 820 € Barum [polaris 3 xx] 205 55 16R 94H @ 692 € I've decided for the latest, they'll replace for a few month my original Dunlop 225 50 R17 94W. I do hope not to regret my choice since I have very little info about Barum (Czech brand owned by continental). price has played a relevant part in my decision, but anyway I don't live in a rural area, so even a just decently performing tyres on a 4x4 should run good enough. ...now winter comes slowly Cheers
2. If traveling you see a Yeti with a thin layer of Ice on the (inner) side of the windscreen that's me, testing the New AC compressor replaced yesterday by Skoda Service. At last The Air conditioning appears to be back to normal working order. (dual mode too!) It has taken from the 28th of June (fault day) to 23rd July when Informed by skoda Italy the part had arrived. A few days later my local service called for appointment ...but i was on vacation ...then they had their vacation time, so the job could only be scheduled a couple of days ago. excluding the vacation it's really a lot of time, 25 days for a spare. does any one know if I'm eligible for any form of compensation (a discount on a next maintence or similar) rules could be different among countries of course but I'like to know if this happens in your place. Funny as soon the AC works, the temperatures have fallen 5 degres. Today only 27º Cheers It has really taken a lot of time to be fixed due to lack of spare part. From 28th june I've been informed from Skoda Italy the part had arrived on 23rd of July
3. Thanks everyone for your comments, but in any of my previous posts I wrote, I don’t use the Air conditioning. On the contrary its a 'device' i personally use constantly. Living in northern Italy I have to use it in both the cold climate to ease the humidity in the car’s cabin and with the warm weather too. From May on temperatures goes easily above 20 degrees (…it’d be silly not to use the AC) No, the point is another one, it's the time it takes to receive this spare part (& the reliability of the parts itself) I hope in the UK delivery time for a spare is better. Good Day
4. Update from Skoda Service: AC compressor, possibly available by mid-July, but more realistically by the end of the month (or even later) ...what can I say? greetings
5. Hello I've some more info to add regarding my AC fault. Today at the skoda service, a faulty AC compressor has been diagnosed. What's worst is that apparently they cannot tell me when the new spare part will be available. It seems the part should come from the WV main center in Verona, but nobody knows when! I've also heard by the mechanichs that the spare part code has been changed, the item they were looking for has now been redirected to a different code. In a few days I'll be informed of any developement. What kind of logistic do they have? is a similar situation likely? What's the story if you need a spare in your own country? Greatings
6. Hello everybody, first I wish to thank you all for your comments, unfortunately I still know nothing about what went wrong, only in the next days Skoda Service will have a look under the hood. The points you have suggested are all possible to me. My Yeti (for the time being) hasn't got a scratch, anyway I gave a look in the engine bay, but everything seems to be in order. Even if a loose pipe and a leak is always possible. Another good chance could be a broken belt (...there is always a belt somewhere), but I agree with VD-ST a warning light should have lit (and I have none). We'll see, as soon as I'll know better, I'll post more info, about my yeti's small mishap good day
7. Air conditioning not working!? Yes, that's it, right today I've discovered the Air Conditioning isn't cooling the air at all! and on the opposite, warm air is generated. I've tried to switch the AC on and off a few times, selected different temperatures, activated the dual mode but ...nothing. It looks like a I have a faulty AC. My Yeti is sept. 2009, so everything should be on warranty, but I've to say I'm rather disappointed . I've contacted a skoda dealer and in a few days it'll be checked. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Thank you Everyone

Things Yetis do

----------------------------------- Hi Tarbat, If I can help you, Yeti closes itself in, for two possible reasons (other than a fault somewhere of course), the first being rain (I'd say really useful expecially for those who keep the car not in garage, ..or for distracted ones), and the second reason is an automatic Locking function that closes everything after 12 hours. ...for safety/antithieves I suppose. (Pag.28, english version Manual, under :Maxidot / Confort / Rain Closing > ON). I personaly like very much these features, (I've it set to ON in my Yeti), my little worries (being a technician ..on semiconductor equipments) are about the electrical stress applied to: battery, electrical motors and mechanical parts every time these doors are closed under battery power alone. That's why I tend to close sunroof/blind/glasses stil with the engine running (battery first!) Have a nice day! btw right this morning my 8th yeti (in Italy) seen on the road, and its driver has kindly replayed to my waving!
9. I'm having trouble using the Windscreen wipers on my 'experience'! It seems mine 'work' like yours. They can't simply work in accordance with the amount of falling rain. Does anybody know if the speed of the car is in any way taken into account for the wipers auto-adjustment? Regards!
10. Ciao Agerbundsen What a Journey you have made! I perfectly know the area, since I used to live in Monza. I'm hoping you had the time to see the historyc city center which is quite remarkable, with Its Duomo, the Royal Palace, and the large Park (...theater of my Sunday Jogging) with its F1 race Track! (and the traffic!) ...hell I don't work for the tourist office!
11. Ciao medi@wiz Hello everibody, It seems dealers too often don't care too much for the their clients. I'm Sorry to learn that Skoda may have these behaviours too. Anyway yeti is a good car, ...at least so far (I'm close to 9.000 km) And btw I'm glad to see that someone else is driving the snow monster in Italy. (In the forum I've read of people from trieste, Napoli, Torino, Roma and Milano Anyone else from any other places?) - even if I'm getting a little worried since i don't spot any other Yetis around. (i live in the Monza province). It's funny but It' s much easyer to see: Dacias, SSanyong (Kyrion!) a lot of Fiat Sedici, there are a couple of Hummers ...obviously Ferrari but NOT Yeti! Is this the same in the area where you live? A nice day to all of you! Elcano

yeti mpg

Hello I wonder if something like the "Poll" available for topics like - Yeti colour, Engine and trim survey - could also be extendend to the mpg issue. Possibly sorting the graph bars, by engines power, traction type, (...but also motorway use) and within the graph, average mileage per gallon, in step of 2 or 5 or whatever) mpg. Everyone could "vote" for the mpg reached driving the Yetis, providing useful information, and building an interesting database that even if not 'scientific' in the true sense and effected by a lot of different variables, could be a sort of benchmark for fuel consumption Would it be possible? would anyone be interested in it? Thank you and Good Evening

yeti mpg

I'm averaging something like 14,4 Km/liter or 40,9 mpg (...assuming the gallon in UK is 4.54 liters) which is in not bad. I'm talking about data measured between a few full refills of the tank. Computer says better figures around 15,5 / 16.5 Km/liter (43,7/46.5 mpg) a modest error. My yeti is a 4x4 140hp diesel, with less than 9.000 Km (5.500 miles) on the clock, and I drive it mainly on a 8 miles leg, on secondary road, but with scarce traffic. It makes me think that in a bumper to bumper traffic jam hour diesel consumption could rise to 10/12 Km/liter (28/33 mpg) returnig to the original question ..the best figure seen..(on the computer) it has been 18,5 km/l (52,2 mpg) light downhill, 6th gear, in favor of wind, light on the pedal. I'll try on the highway, and al post an update! a nice day to all of you!
14. What a Nice place. Your Yeti looks really great in the snow. I've checked a few web cams from the site you suggested and they remainded me of a terrific tour I made (..almost 25 years ago), with some friends from Milan (italy) to Scotland visiting castles and palaces, ...on a Fiat Uno (steering Wheel on the left!) we were without any doubt out of our minds! I wish I could repeat the tour with my Yeti! cheers!
