  1. I am aware of function of this part, the vast majority of engines do not produce a loud "clicking".This is what i am referring to !!!
  2. I HAVE PUT FORWARD PROBLEMS WITH REAR WIPER MOTOR HERE BEFORE,,,,,,,,,,,,,WASHER FLUID ON WIRING (BOOT) ETC.EVENTUALLY MOTOR GAVE UP COMPLETELY.REPLACED IT YESTERDAY WITH OEM PART.WORKED ON SINGLE WIPE AND INTERMITTENT.ON STARTING IGNITION NEXT TIME , WIPER SWITCH OFF.......WIPER OPERATES ERRATICALLY!!!!!!!!!WHEN IT DOES STOP IT AGAIN OPERATES NORMALLY ON SWITCH >>>>FOR A PERIOD
  3. Ken.................only worked for short period. Now its completely erratic will only run if arm is lifted from screen and then erratically.
  4. Ken..........Many thanks, replaced pipe connection.......dried out connectors with hair-dryer......sprayed WD40 over area.Wiper motor returned to normal .All ok so far. Brendan Keady
  5. Problem.......will not turn off.Removed fuse.Any ideas,switch.....motor.....etc? Octavia 1,4 2004
  6. As a matter of interest, why would anyone want to" hang" items in boot?
  7. Try lifting wiper arm cover , pull off tubing, push on lenght of suitable flexi.pipe (petrol etc) and blow to clear washer pipe. Brendan.
  8. Yes ....bit of a problem to remove switch/holder, you have to get the right "angle"........it will come out. I got new part....about £10 Good luck......Brendan
  9. I would suggest you dont even try a repair........waste of time.I replaced one of these recently after a number of "trial" repairs. Brendan
  10. Hello there...........Bulbholder incorporates switch. Switch is flimsy first of all and is controlled by pressure from side of glove box.First move would be to remove holder/switch and check! Brendan
  11. Annoying noise,at start up and to a lesser degree in driving. Ticking/old car tappet noise.....only varies slightly with engine speed. Advised on another post this could be EGR valve/solinoid?? Anyone any ideas to fix?
  12. From my experience of this exact problem you have both a faulty lock mechanism and wiring fault.I find the voltage readings weird, surely correct reading should be 12V in all cases 24.7V???.I have never solved mirror prob, remote lock, courtest light ,door lock switch and lock indicator light (top of door) .....yes.
  13. problem;battery voltage flattened, radio read SAFE.Now SAFE appears on turning on,with 2 in left bottom corner of display, but 1000 does not appear.Code cannot be inserted.Any suggestions!!!!
  14. Octavia 1 2004 1.4 (60K miles). Has a "ticking" engine sound, louder on starting.I am told this is a common VW/SKODA problem.......EGR valve.Any advice on replacing or is this something you live with. There are no other engine problems.
