  1. I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to post and offer tips and tricks. I have now sorted the problem. I took all the tracks I had on the 32gb kingston card and put them on a crappy 8gb 7day shop sd card and have never had a problem since. I'm sorry to have doubted that it could be a problem with the top quality card, but clearly it was.
  2. Holding setup for any length of time seems to be doing nothing. Is there any other way to get the firmware version?
  3. I found a 7 day shop 32card I'll copy the same files to it and try that. Thanks again to you all for helping.
  4. Thanks everyone I have one or two slower. Smaller cards so I'll try another. Re the firmware version I've no idea, is there a quick check I can do?
  5. I've tried it all. I only use Kingston class 10 32gb cards and I've tried all the formatting and file structure tips. The bit that confuses me is that it will work fine and read the tracks really quickly and then just kick up the error next time I turn it on. I listened for 3 hours straight on Saturday morning and again on Saturday evening but on Sunday the same card just won't play.
  6. I've read all the help on getting music working on the sd card and have managed to follow and achieve the desired results except that it will take 20 or so insertions and the sd card being repeatedly cleaned or simply put in a pc to get it working again. I can listen to my tunes on the way to work and the card error comes up when it's time to come home. I can take the card indoors pop it in the PC go back to the car and it works straight away. As long as I don't turn the car off for long it normally continues to work, but a long period with it off will result in the error. This means I know the files are the right type and size as they do play, but why the constant errors? Oh and I do use a cleaner card for the slot in the Bolero from time to time to avoid muck being the problem. Any help or suggestions are welcome.
  7. I'd prefer to sell them as a job lot to be honest. Cheers Ady
  8. Rims are undamaged but faces where diamond cut are delaminating on 2 and ok on other 2. Not tyres just wheels. £200 Can post for an extra £40 I'll have to supply pics by email as they're too big to add to the ad.
  9. I can't add the picture. If you drop me a mail address I'll send it to you. Cheers Ady
  10. I bought this with my brand new Octy VRS and still have it in the loft. Ady

  12. No bad smells at all. The first time this happened there was no warning whatsoever and we were very lucky it didn't end badly. I think this Scout may be jinxed, I've only had it since last may done 9k and it's have a new egr cooler, keeps blowing headlight bulbs, brake failure, constants slow punctures thanks to the proteus alloys, I'm pretty sure the DMF is failing and there's something odd with the clutch. I've had 2 previous octavias one with 3 times the mileage of this one that only went as it was written off in an accident neither car gave me any trouble other than wear and tear.
  13. Hi guys, I'm hoping someone else has knowledge of this. I've taken the car to garages who've confirmed the brakes are in perfect working order. When I use cruise control on longer motorway distances say 40 miles or more I get brake fade and the longer the journey the worse the fade is. In normal everyday use the brakes work well enough, but whenever I travel on motorways using cruise I lose braking power. The pedal is normal but response from the car is massively reduced to the point that I nearly failed to stop altogether when entering the services on a trip home from London which was the very first time this occurred. The pads, disks and fluid are all in perfect condition, ABS works as normal I can and have done emergency stops since this started and was successful. Has anyone had this before and identified the cause or able to make suggestions as to what could be behind this problem? Thanks in advance for your help. Ady
  14. Hi VrsStebuzz, thanks for that I'll have a look. They're close enough I'm in Newton Le Willows. Jimbo, let me have your suggestions anyway. I'm always open to suggestion.
  15. Hi all, I did quick search and found the refurbers in the south, but does anyone know of a good place to get my alloys powder coated in the Warrington/St Helens area? I've found a few and heard had things about them all so would love a recommendation or two. Cheers Ady
  16. Hi, this time it was a main dealer yes. They also suggested replacing the air filter with a K+N one. Having spoken to my insurance a remap will mean an increase of £30 per year, but a K+N air filter will mean refusal of insurance. The guy who sorted the EGR cooler was CentralVW at Ellesmere port and they're great and I trust them, but getting my car back to them requires to 40 minute trips for two of us as I need bringing and taking back. I'll be honest the reason I didn't take it to the main dealer who are much much closer to home the first time is I've had problems with them before with my sisters car and simple stuff on mine like supplying the wrong clutch pedal when I ordered a replacement. They also claimed that MK1 Octavias etc don't have water pump issues. Mine at that point had had 4 and my sisters 2 year old fabia was on it's 3rd. I love my Skoda and loved the 2 before it. My sister has had 2 fabias thanks to my love of the brand, but most main dealers are poor to say the least. In my experience!!!!!
  17. The dealer had the car on test and came back to tell me that there's nothing wrong with the mechanicals of my car. It was suggested that a remap may help resolve the problem as it's not a hardware fault. Does anyone have suggestions of who to go to for a remap to 175/180 whichever is the safe top BHP?
  18. Well the dealership had the car on test and found no fault. They took it out for a test drive and even drove another to give them a direct comparison. To cut a short story long no fault found at all and no charge.
  19. Mine too. The EGR cooler has been replaced as it was very broken, but still the problem continues. I get this at all revs and all speeds, but it's really annoying at low speed when moving off. Car's in at the main dealer tomorrow to see if anything shows up.
  20. hi, would you take £40 delivered? Cheers Ady
  21. Ok thanks for the advice. I have 600 miles left on a warranty and want to make sure I get the car sorted before it's too late. Having said that I doubt it'll be covered by the warranty. I have to say I've had VRS and a Ambiente diesel estate before this and neither ever had a serious non mechanic caused problem. I want a scout for a good while and beginning to regret it at the moment, but I'm sure once she's sorted it'll be fine.
  22. I've been told this sounds like it's DPF trying to regen. How much should I expect to pay for a fix?
  23. Hi, I've owned this car for 6 months now and had to have the EGR cooler replaced recently when I took the car in for investigation about this stuttering and mild vibration whilst it's still under the dealer warranty. The problem I have is that no faults show up, but at any speed in any gear on a smooth road it's like driving over the rumble strip. When setting off in 1st gear the car accelerates and then sort of lurches as it drops power or stops accelerating. When I drive more aggressively and shift gear the engine will flat for a few seconds before picking up the revs again. I don't want to keep paying 80 quid for no fault to be found, does anyone have any suggestions? It's done 69,000 miles and is in great condition generally with a good service history.
