  1. Woot! Postie's just been! I have a VCDS! I'm all excited now and want to get right outside and get breaking my car! Thanks again for all your hard work Simon.
  2. Cheers Simon, will keep an eye out for the postie Tuesday/Wednesday!
  3. Simon, Now that I'm in front of my "proper" PC with access to online banking and all that, I'm sending you the difference between what I sent before and £236, so that you can cover the cost of the cable + VAT plus £7 to post it back out to me. You should get it in a few days once my bank wakes up and presses the "OK" button. Hope that actually covers everything, let me know if not. Right, so for me it's now "ball's in your court" (that does sound oddly rude, didn't mean it to come out like that...). You can press ahead with V Tech with everyone who's still in, or you can cancel and send everyone their moolah back. Either way, as long as I get £236 or a VCDS cable, I'm sure I can find somewhere safe to keep a cable, so I don't need a plastic case, I don't read manuals, and I'd download the latest version from Ross Tech so I don't need a CD. Happy to go with whatever you decide from here in, and wouldn't think wrong of you if you decided it's all too much and sent money back to everyone. I think there's a good few still in, so hopefully we're all on track and you'll get this wrapped up. Thanks again for putting up with all this and not just yelling at us to source our own sodding VCDS cables if we're so bloomin' clever!
  4. Gadgetman, I'll also be sending you enough to bring it up to £236, assuming that's right - don't want you paying onward postage.
  5. I think Rusty's comment wasn't really that V-Tech are taking the p**s because of the VAT thing - I think we get that that was your ***kup! I think it's more that once you start to look at what they were offering, it's not actually that much of a discount for the 20-odd you originally seem to have told them you'd place with them, and certainly isn't much of a discount for what was nearly 100 units. Anyway, I can see why you might not want to go back to them and ask for more off (though I don't see that asking just once can hurt when there's final numbers on how many will still go ahead - you never know they might knock enough off for 70-odd units to cover post out from you to us?) Would they post out to individuals for the current price to save you that grief? Just a thought. Can we get to an all-in price including postage just so everyone knows where they stand? I'm reasonably cool with whatever, but I will take a guess that a few people will want to know the cost including getting it delivered to them, and we'll get a bit of fence-sitting until that cost is known. I'm just thinking of how to get people to call it either way so you know how many are still in. Oh, and I hope your nether end is recovering - having that to deal with as well as all this must be pretty horrid. Hope you're not suffering too badly.
  6. Hi gadgetman. Don't beat yourself up on the VAT thing, as many have already said it's so easily done, and we've probably all been there at some point! I hope you're not going to take £27 of people and then absorb postage yourself! That would be pretty c**p for you! VAT on the £195 is £34-odd, so I'm happy to send you that much if need be. However, if you can (if you have the energy!) call round other possible suppliers, and better £195+VAT+postage, that would be great. It does sound a little bit like with nearly £20k or product on order, V-Tech are taking the wee wee a little for a bare cable with nothing other than an invoice. So, if we can't improve on the price of £195+VAT+postage, and we're talking around £240ish delivered to me, count me still in, and let me know how much I need to top up. It's still cheaper than other places in the UK seem to be. I don't mind a couple of weeks wait either, as it will stop me playing with (and therefore probably breaking) my current car before it goes back to the dealer in a few weeks when the new one arrives. Probably best I break a new one where I've got a few years to put it right before the dealer gets it back! Chris
  7. Entirely understandable! Don't let a few detractors get you down - I'm sure most people in the GB are just extremely grateful to you for all your hard work and patience so save us tightwads a few quids! Hope everything went OK for you on Friday, and you're resting and relaxing instead of thinking about this.
  8. Payment sent! Massive thanks to gadgetman for running this GB, and especially for doing it cross-forum!
  9. Hi gadgetman, Am I too late to join this group buy? I'm an occasional user over on Seatcupra.net - I've got a brace of Audis, but my lad's got an Ibiza that I bought him. VCDS might come in handy once the guarantee on his car runs out, and I can try not to break mine by tinkering! If I'm not too late, can you PM me bank details and I can set up a transfer ASAP. Thanks, Chris
