  1. If the doors are all locking but the led is not flashing it probably means one of the doors is not deadlocked this was the issue on mine. If you sit in the car and lock it with the remote you will probably find the door with the deadlock problem as it will open from the inside with the handle and the others won't!
  2. I had a quote from a local Skoda dealer a couple of months ago and it was £417! far to say I wont be going there! lol
  3. My mate had a 51 plate vRS and it had the light headlining!
  4. Yep it's the age, pre 2003 I think has a light headlining and post 2003 has dark, mine is a 2003 with dark headlining!
  5. Finally got a chance to look at this today and it was the power wire in the back of the fuse box and a dodgy crimp connector! A bit of solder and it is now all working as it should and I'm really pleased with it. Wish I had taken the time to look at it before the 7 hour round trip to Nottingham last weekend! Lol
  6. I have mintex discs and pads all round on my vRS and never had a problem with them! :-)
  7. Pleased with the car today as it passed its MOT with no problems at all It's now done 82,900 miles and a massive 4,458 miles since last years MOT! Lol Not a fan of the new look certificate if you can call it that! Lol
  8. Thanks, I will try the wire that goes in to the back of the fuse box first (I think that is the one that supplies the power to the cruse functions on the stalk) as we had to use a crimp connector for that one! lol If that is getting power then I will try the brake/clutch switches next.
  9. Yeh I did think of the brake or clutch switch but didn't scan the can the car after fitting the cruse control! Lol. How easy is it to change the clutch and brake switch? And did you have to clear the fault codes after changing the switch or did the cruise just start working straight away?
  10. Not yet! Lol I have fitted the kit and it has now been activated with vag-com but it doesn't seem to work! I am going to check my wiring again and hope its something simple like the wire in the back of the fuse box but I have not had a chance to take it apart again and check, its dark during the week when I get home from work and I have been to busy at weekends!
  11. Was good to meet everyone today, great turn out for our first Essex meet
  12. I got mine from here last year, they are it cheap and only seem to sell the front ones too? http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/category/Octavia_____2005/Interior_Parts,b.html?sortBy=FeaturedDesc
  13. For those that are having problems with the postcode try this http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=51.589990,0.535765%20%28Southend%20Arterial%20Road,%20Basildon,%20England,%20SS12%209,%20United%20Kingdom%29
  14. I changed my drivers door lock and rear door lock in November part number for the drivers one is 3B2 837 016T and it was £99.68 + VAT from Skoda.
  15. Thanks mate, I have the instructions of how to activate it, should only take a few seconds
  16. Are you still bringing your vagcom? I fitted my cruise control stalk at the weekend and need it activated on the ECU with vagcom - there's a few quid in it for you mate Also what was the final outcome as to if this meet is at the Halfway House or the D1ck Turpin? Think it was the D1ck Turpin Lol not bothered either way though just don't want people to be confused by the title of the thread? Lol
  17. I'm right down in Rayleigh so a bit far and I need to see if mine works first! Lol also im not that confident with wiring the ECU plugs so I got a mate to help as he is an electrical engineer so he did that bit! Lol. To be honest if you take your time and use the instructions supplied and with a bit off help from the guide Mark has done above it will be ok. Took us about 3 hours with tea breaks! Lol
  18. I fitted mine today, quite straight forward in the end although it took a few hours but that included taking our time and lots of tea breaks! Haven't used it yet though as I haven't activated the feature on the ECU yet, waiting to I see someone with vagcom! Lol
  19. That's good to hear, I have used Prestons a couple of times and always been pleased with their service. Also it's good to hear the improvement in the car too
  20. Nope still open, well they were a few weeks ago as I was up there lol
  21. Ordered the whole kit from Skoda, the part number is BEA300003 for the 1.8T and was £69
  22. Thanks, i will print that off and have a read
  23. I live in Rayleigh and hardly ever use Essex Auto Group anymore! They have only been doing Skoda for about 6 months, I only use them if I need parts and if I have the part number! (they have ordered me the wrong bits twice in the past with them looking them up!) I don’t know where you live in Essex but I now use Preston Garages in Writtle, they did my coil pack recall without me even mentioning it to them when I popped in just to order something else! http://new.skoda-auto.com/gbr/findaretailer/Pages/Preston'sGaragesLTD.aspx The staff are nicer and much more knowledgeable! Essex Auto Group might have improved now as they have been doing it for a few months now?
  24. Sounds good, would be good to hear in the flesh! Have you seen this as I see your local? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/220815-essex-meet-halfway-house/page__st__60
  25. Had a quote for mine as its due next year and Skoda dealer quoted me £417 a couple of weeks ago!
