  1. Date of registration: July 2011 Colour: Candy White Options fitted: Armrest. Parking Sensors. Bluetooth and MFSW. Climate Control. šŸ˜¢ FOR SALE: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202002016836217 Spot the Briskoda stickers šŸ˜ šŸ˜Ž
  2. Thank you both for the info. I ordered one from Ebay last night for Ā£10.99 + Ā£5 shipping. Should have tried the dealer first but I was being impatient and pessimistic. Fingers crossed I don't break the glass.
  3. Would appreciate any advice on removing the door mirror trim please?
  4. All this technical talk seems a little irrelevant. Norway is a cold country and the electric vehicle market share there suggests their weather is not an issue. If you're not ready to switch to an EV, that's fine, but please try not to pretend the reason is because you cannot manage without 400 miles of range on a single charge.
  5. Didn't mean to suggest Tesla was the solution but where they lead others are trying to follow. Although I did hear that once land owners figured out the EV charging site applications were for billionaire Elon Musk the rollout slowed dramatically. Wish we could get that interest free loan in England as currently EVs are still super expensive compared to the ICE cars I've owned over the year. If we can.. it would be nice to keep this thread positive about Skoda and their EV future, rather than debating the barriers to EV adoption.
  6. @Roottootemoot I agree the infrastructure does still need to improve but I don't believe it's as immediately inadequate as EV skeptics try to suggest. A number of networks are already offering 150kW chargers. Tesla has even started rolling out their v3 which will add 75 miles in just 5 minutes. I suspect Seat and Skoda might be held back by VW who want their models to come to market first (especially after #dieselgate). @KenONeill When you say "typical", do you have the misfortune to drive multiple 150 mile legs daily? And are you really still using Windows XP or just haven't got round to updating your forum signature? šŸ˜‰
  7. @Roottootemoot I really like the look of the Seat, more than the VW. Fingers crossed Skoda offer us something great.
  8. The newer chargers are already able to add a significant amount of range in just 10 minutes and you do not need to completely fill your battery, which would take a lot longer, just enough to your next stop.
  9. @ettlz You will be waiting a long time for that spec. How often do you drive a 400 mile trip, without stopping for a comfort break?
  10. So I am presuming there will be a Skoda hatchback based on the VW ID platform and with VW and Seat not opting to use existing model names, do you think there will be a Fabia EV or will it have a new name?
  11. @Ash7. Dragging playlists from iTunes on to the SD Card on my Mac. lā€‹ was using iTunesMyWalkman which was suggested in an old thread. I'm using a USB stick plugged into the MDI socket via the adapter cable. The mp3s play fine it just doesn't see the playlists. I don't want to play/shuffle by artist/album.
  12. I'd like to suggest a flaw in your always on "be safe, be seen" approach. If you're dazzling someone aren't you less safe if they can't see your brake lights or the curb/road markings. It's particularly annoying in the rain, there are enough lights being diffracted by the rain drops as it is. "You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves." Seriously Reduced Visibility is less than 100 metres. I suspect most drivers have no idea what 100 metres is though. I've only seen visibility reduced that low in the UK once in the twenty-ish years I've been driving.
  13. Which version of iTunes are you running please? ā€‹I couldn't get the drag and drop method to work in v.12
  14. Why? They don't help you see in the fog, they're there to help others see you when fog reduces visibility to below 100m. It amazes me how many people turn them on in traffic at the slightest hint of fog.
  15. I have the same issue but it's the speedometer needle rather than the rev counter. Noticed it on Saturday evening. My car is a 2011 model too. http://1drv.ms/1NaeAON
  16. Thank you. Never been impressed with the quality of speaker level converters. :( How about the Amundsen?
  17. Anyone know if the standard stereo has RCA/phono outputs please?
  18. If Skoda created an e-up! what would it be called? I might be waiting a while but I'm looking forward to an electric vRS.
  19. I'm not in any rush to replace my 2011 vRS. If they don't offer the DSG auto I'll probably opt for the Monte or SE.
  20. The fluid and labour are both itemised on the invoice. I have done a couple of 100 mile round trip journeys since the service so I guess there's a chance it has kinked post service.
  21. The only angle I don't like my Mk2 from is square on sideways. Right now I like the side of the Mk3 more but I'm not keen on the back. As others have said colour can make a big difference. I do quite like the white http://scotcars.co.uk/news/2014/march/new-skoda-fabia-due-in-2015 Will wait to see what they do for the VRS.
  22. Thanks for the info. I bought my car on the 2nd July 2011 so it's now just out of warranty. I rang the dealer on the 2nd last week though, following the MOT, so does that count? It had it's third year service in May, intentionally ahead of warranty expiration despite relatively low mileage. The maintenance list has a tick against "brake system: carry out visual check for leaks and damage" and "brake fluid change". I can't see anything about the breather pipe and valve mod on the maintenance schedule or invoices for the first, second or third service. I'll ask the dealer. I haven't risked touching the pipe as the guy doing the MOT said he didn't want to risk touching it in case it split. There's nothing nearby to put pressure on it so I've no idea how the kink can have got there.
  23. My first MOT today and it's passed with one "strong advisory". The brake servo hose has a kink in it. I'll ask my dealer to take a look but thought I'd ask if anyone else here has a similar kink in case it's meant to be like that.
