I'm looking to buy a 3 or 4 year old Citigo for Mrs Phosphoric. I can't find the difference between cars advertised as 12V or MPI. Can you put me right please?

Similar problem here. When I am loading up my car to go away camping there will be a couple of doors open. After a while the bonging starts. Even closing the doors does not stop it. No idea what it is, I don't think I have a battery problem, always starts on the button.

I've just fixed sis in law's mower, Briggs and Stratton engine. Googled symptons, watched a couple of UTube videos. Took tank and carb off (2bolts). Found carb diaphragm perished as suggested on Google. New part delivered next day for £2.45 from EBay. All sorted, dead easy.

@ Yorkshire, can you explain why turning traction control off in a muddy field is better than auto control? Seems counter-intuitive. I recall reading this somewhere before but have forgotten the reasons. Edit: just found your previous post thanks. It appears the main issue is TC cuts the engine power as well as diverting power to the rear wheels, disabling TC can possibly help in some situations then, worth a go.

True, but my point was about the mechanical construction of the plugs, cheap and poor quality, easily damaged.

I bought a cheap VGA cable recently to connect laptop to TV. The pins were very soft and bent as they didn't line up perfectly with the TV socket.

Just a thought on your original idea to replace the route, redundant now but....... with my new Virgin Media superhub thingy, some folk don't like them and replace with their own router. However the hub still has to be on as it is the modem too. So you would still have had the noise. Good on you with Mint. I now have wife's laptop, my notebook and this desktop all running Mint 13, no windows in the house now. ( Makes it a bit dark!) All 3 networked as well now.

How timely is this thread? Just dragged my 300+ collection of vinyl out of the loft and dusted off my 30 year old Rega Planar 3. Had to repair the turntable after a couple of plays as it went slow. New drive belts and motor suspension belt didn't fix it. Motor and main bearing lubrication also had no effect. Turned out to be a dodgy capacitor in the motor power supply, easy fix in the end. Loving it :love:

16000 miles on the clock. I'm starting to get what I can only describe as a sigh when letting out the clutch in first gear. Only happens about once in ten goes. I suspect there might also be a tiny vibration felt through the clutch pedal but that may be my imagination. The sound is too random at the moment to take to the dealers but I assume it will only get worse. Any thoughts?

Seems awfully complicated to me. We have a programmable roomstat with 6 time zones a day and different settings for weekdays and weekends, works fine. Set to 16C after 9.30PM. We have a cold bedroom as it is in a converted loft space, perhaps not well insulated. So, up there we have an oil filled electric radiator 1kW with built in thermostat. That cuts in sometimes on a really cold night I think that would be ideal for a nursery too.

Mine definitely work independently, often forget to switch them off. On my previous Vauxhall Zafira the mirrors came on with the rear screen heater.

Another one here using a £50 satnav propped up in the dash cubby hole. Twin USB charger in the 12V socket does satnav and phone at the same time. Only problem sometimes is glare on the rare sunny days.

Socks are the pupal stage of wire coat hangers. As the number of socks diminish in my wardrobe the wire coathanger population increases.

No help for OP but for others...... I get just about 30mpg from my 1.8 Tsi 4x4 towing a small van about 1000kg. Normally get up to 40mpg solo on a long run.

Had my first service a couple of weeks ago, variable so came up after 2 years. Few days ago noticed that they had reset the service indicator to fixed, it was counting down from 365 days. Just been back to get the service indicator reset to variable. After 3 days and about 30 miles, the service indicator is showing blank for the days and the mileage. ( Blank equals dotted lines) Is this normal? I expected it to be counting down from 730 days and 18000 miles.

II thought you only got it with the TSI petrol engine?

Sometimes find that Chromium (Linux) doesn't play well with some sites, possibly a Java problem. Load up Firefox and all is well except a tad bloated.

Well, I watched the extended highlights on BBC HD and was quite impressed. I missed the pre-race build up but thought that the race itself was well commented and edited. My big gripe was that www.bbc.co.uk put the result on the front page for all to see with no warning. At least the TV news and radio gave you a warning. I've made an official complaint to BBC and will now change my homepage......to what?

You don't get a warning buzzer or light on the dash anymore. If properly wired up and programmed, you get a bulb failure warning from the trailer lamps. Some modern caravans have LED lamps which can cause a problem as they don't draw much current and the ECU thinks the bulb has blown!
