My Yeti's (1.2 TSI, 2010, ¨60tkm) chain (+ accessories) has already been changed twice The first time was on warranty and the second time on "a good will". The same reason at the both times, an ugly, rattling noise on some cold start-ups. Maintenance opened the motor and saw that the chain had stretched ... one can now only guess if this same operation is needed once again after the next 30tkm...

Snow is nothing, that is always easy to swipe away....but wait when in the morning you have there a solid thick and incredibly strong layer of ice covering the bumper and sensors, the only thing you can do then is to disable the radars, put that car to some warm place to melt or poor hot water from some bottle over the sensors until the ice has gone...and wipe it then dry so it doesn't get ice layer again, at least for the next couple of hours. Repeat this all in the next morning.

Coldness is relative ...we have here now -22 C and it is going to be even colder tomorrow. Let's see if the little engine can then deliver any warm air in the cabin...

Manual says the following: "If the oil temperature is lower than 50°C or if a fault in the system for checking the oil temperature is present, three lines are displayed instead of the oil temperature."

The back end of the moving part of the sunroof rises up about one inch. This happens when you push up (towards the roof) the back end of the roof knob when it is in position A.

My best result with my 1.2 Yeti is 935km (580 miles) with one tank. Needless to say that this didn't include any motorway driving. Oil tank still full (after 6000km). :yes:

Computer shows ~6.2l/100km for my 1.2DSG on a daily basis when commuting to work. This is ~46mpg if I have converted this correctly. The ride (30km ~ 19miles) consists of 50/kmh (~31mph) and 80km/h (~50 mph) legs. The best day so far has shown only 5.9l/100km, which I think is awesome for this type of a car.

Haven't tried that yet because I like this automatic rain close function of the sunroof and windows, so if unticking this is the only option to disable the automatic closing of the sun shade, then this is unfortunatelly not an option

Thanks 900000, has this relation between the sun shade and a temperature been described somewhere in the owner's manual? Automation makes sense when it deals with something that machine can do better than a man. EPS, ABS etc are good examples of those. However, I don't appreciate that somebody has designed these kind of "Convenience operations" which I don't have any control over. :wonder: It is OK that some smart Skoda engineer has had an idea to add this kind of functionality in the car, but at the same time he should have added an option in the MaxiDot to disable this functionality! It would have taken only couple of lines of code. What is the next hidded "Convenience operation" I will discover in my Yeti....maybe the computer (the descendent of HAL 9000 ) stops the car after every 60min run when it is dark enough, so I have to have a break and not to fall asleep....hmmmm....even this option would make more sense than this compulsory sun shade closing when some arbitrary temperature has been reached. Still love my amazing Yeti, just wondering about these litte quirks I lately have found in our beast.

I would like to leave the sun screen (below the panoramic sliding roof) stay fully open most of the time but for some reason the screen shuts itself during the nights. :wonder: I start every morning my way to work by opening the sun screen. A small thing for sure, but kind of annoying and this unnecessary opening-closing routine also wears out the sun shade mechanism in a long run I am sure. Especially when the winter comes, I wouldn't like to have these little servo motors of the sun shade running unnecessarily when there is -40C (-40F) out there. When leaving work the sun shade is still open (after 8-10 hours), but in the morning it will be closed again (no matter if it has rained or not).

Same situation here! Our Yeti in now only three weeks old and there already are some scratches/marks on the driver's door :wonder: It seems the air gap between the handle and the door is much bigger in the rear doors and because of this the handle never touches the door there.

I am still running in the motor (what an awesome motor experience already so far! :thumbup: ) , therefore I haven't done any kick down accelerations etc, but even with the DSG position D I have a feeling this beats this 12.0 seconds easily. At least it feels so, haven't clocked it yet :p The question is that why would Skoda promise only 12.0 if and when the reality is better? The Manual describes this position S as following: "Shifting up later into a higher gear makes it possible to fully exploit the power potential of the engine." But there are no numerical values anywhere to tell what this means in terms of performance. :wonder:

According to the Yeti specs, Yeti 1.2 with a manual transmission gets from 0 to 62 mph in 11.8 seconds and with a DSG in 12.0 seconds. Would anybody here know if this 12.0 has been achieved with the gearbox selector lever in position D or S? I would guess S gives a bit better result than D but I also would assume even the S can't beat the time done with a manual transmission (11.8s). This all would mean the performance difference between D ("grandma") and S ("sporty") is only 0.2 seconds? :wonder: Why is there this S option available at all?

Onnittelut! / Congrats! My 1.2DSG is now travelling somewhere between the Factory and Hanko free Port in Finland. I would have couple of questions for you :yes: - Do you have the rubber mats included with your Yeti or do they have to be purchased separately? - Do you have any plans to get for the SM an extra anti corrosion treatment to slow down the negative effect caused by the salting of the roads? - What is the brand and model of those 225/50 summer tires your SM was equipped with? I totally agree with you! These kind of delivery problems (or with the consultant language: challenges) can happen to any can manufacturer, but I would expect that the communication from the factory to the dealers shoud be consistent. :wonder: One and the same story for everybody. No need for every dealer to come up with an own (sometimes eveh hilarious) stories. Also the promised delivery times should be much easier to keep. When a new order is entered in in the system, the system should immediately know when it really can be delivered…whatever ERP (Enterprise resource planning ) system these guys have , it should re upgraded to this century.

Our SM has seen the light today! Our dealer just informed us that our monster was born today. :yes: :yes: Only four weeks later than the original date was set! Our SM has this infamous sunroof, therefore it was quite a surprise for me that it took "only" 11 weeks from the order to get it manufactured. Hopefully this means they have sorted out the sunroof problem, what ever it was. It still takes about 3-4 weeks to get the SM home. I very much hope it comes earlier than the week 41 :S (I live in Finland, and we have LHD traffic here). I have read in this forum a lot of complaints on the lacking communication between the dealer and the buyer. In this area my dealer could be awarded with a medal He has been quite good in terms of the keeping us informed. Since early June he has sent us a short status report email once a week. This was his initiative, we never asked for this. A proactive dealer, I didn't know those really exist. The story has been, that so far the factory has not been able to give a verified production week for our SM. The initial production week was the last week of May (probably given automatically by the system), but during the last month a wild guess has been that we should be prepared to look at September (sunroof situation). :( Our dealer is trying to speed up the process (don't know what he really can do there ). ... The SM should have been at home next week if all had happened as expected. :S Well, Skoda is popular so this waiting is just what can't be avoided I guess. Here below you can find the latest statistics of the car market share from May 2010 in Finland. I would be very interested to know how Skoda is doing e.g in UK. Skoda is here now on the third position, not anymore a long way to the pole position if they only can increase the production of the factory, especially Yetis and Superbs. Market share May/2010: 1. Yes, I kept the sunroof, which of course, unfortunatelly made the delivery time far far away. But I didn't know that then (early April) :wonder: P.S. I Ordered Yeti early April and still no production week given! :S
