  1. Thanks, the reg is AJ10 PCO not sure if this was someones on here. I might pop for a look this week and ask the question
  2. Hi, I'm possibly looking for a Fabia estate to fill in on Long distance duty, our other car is a Nissan Leaf. I have spotted a Fabia Scout 1.2tsi 2010 with 65k on the clock for £6k. Firstly would people say this is about right for the age and milage of car? Also having no experience of the 1.2tsi engine how reliable is it and what to look out for? Its the 85ps version. It is a one owner car with Full Skoda history. Many thanks, Jonno
  3. The Skoda website states that £2.8k deposit on a 60ps SE 5dr over 42 mths is £75 p/m at 0%.
  4. Is that a Soul EV I see on your drive? How are you getting on with it?
  5. We traded in a Ford Focus for a Fabia Estate when our first child arrived. It was fantastic for one child. We changed this for a Roomster when number two arrived. Plenty of space in the estate for baby gubbins and reasonable space in back. I would think you'll be fine with the hatch at least to start with. We did get a roofbox for holidays etc. We now have a Nissan Leaf as our main car and an Aygo for the odd long run with our 5 year old and 2 year old! When we change the Leaf might consider an e-Up or a Citigo as our main car. I'm more of the mindset that they're is little point running a big car for the few times a year when you need to fill it to the gunnels for holidays etc, if thats the case for you. The money you'll save by not changing a car you like will more than cover the hire cost of a bigger car for holidays and the like if needed. I remember being a kid in the eighties with all four of us in our family going on holiday in a Mk 1 Ford Fiesta! Cheers,
  6. Yes you can its imaginatively named the e-NV200.
  7. Not sure whether you're on there, but speakev.com has a classified section.
  8. Having got a Nissan Leaf myself I can vouch for how good they are! If they fit your driving profile then they are great fun and cheap to run. What are you replacing them with?
  9. An other for the discerning collector! http://www.gumtree.com/p/skoda/skoda-fabia-1.4-mpi-sparks-or-repair-/1094605962
  10. This could give you a guide price! http://www.gumtree.com/p/skoda/2006-skoda-fabia-1.9td-130bhp-vrs-full-skoda-service-history/1094899080
  11. Y reg Comfort spec FGF... http://www.gumtree.com/p/skoda/skoda-fabia-1.4-5dr-2002/1092502753 Ok, I need to stop looking!
  12. Driving through our village today and saw a Fantasy Green VW T5 Van. The trend is catching!
  13. I have been running a Leaf since November last year. I traded in my Roomster 1.6 Tdi SE for it. In the last year I have done 8,500 miles at an estimated cost of £200 for electricity. Obviously this is offset by the cost of the car, but I have, for longer journeys, used the Nissan 14 day loan of a Petrol / Diesel car. This has worked really well as its helped not to put about 2,000 miles on my car! Some people have been running Leafs for 3 and a bit years now and some in the US have put 100,000 miles on the original battery. If the battery replacement costs are a concern you can 'rent' the battery and buy the car then the battery is nissans problem if it packs up. I would say to anyone considering one to try it before they buy. We had one for 24 hours before we bought ours but I was sold within the first half a mile. It is as quiet and smooth as a limo! If it fits your diving habits I can recommend it. Saying that we are looking to get a second car as our circumstances are beginning to warrant it and I am thinking about a return to Skoda for the second car. A part of me is hankering after a Mk1 Fabia 'My first Skoda'. This has been fueled by Bossfox and his FGF thread although not sure I'm brave enough for that particular shade! If anyone has any questions on the Leaf for someone who has actually ran one then let me know! Cheers
  14. Another one for the collection? http://www.gumtree.com/p/skoda/skoda-fabia-1.4-5-door-%C2%A3799-ono-low-millage/1090895721
  15. I might also be being offered my Dad's 62reg Fabia 1.6tdi Elegance estate at a family rate. So something else to consider.
  16. Hi, I have previously had a Mk1 Fabia Tdi Bohemia which was followed by a Roomster Tdi SE. Having traded that in a year ago for a Nissan Leaf we may soon be in a position where we need a second car. Don't get me wrong, I love the Leaf and it is great for 95% of our needs but as we are looking at a second car it makes sense to get one that can cover the other 5% also, My Mk1 Fabia Estate remains one of the best cars I ever had and as a result I would seriously consider getting another. My question is this, why should I choose a Mk1 Tdi over a Mk2 Tdi or vise versa? I have seen a couple that have caught my eye one being a Mk1 57reg Tdi Bohemia with 64k on the clock for £4.5k or a Mk2 08reg Tdi 3 Spec for £5.5k with slightly less miles. What are the pros and cons of each? Your advice is welcome! Thanks,
  17. Anyone got any experience of Uniroyal MS plus 66?
  18. Thanks for your replies guys! Think I'm going to probably get some. What insurance implications are there re swapping to winters on Steel wheels?
  19. Hi, In light of the predictions of quote 'worst winter in 100 years' and the fact that we live in a semi rural location, can anyone out they with experience tell me if the outlay for winter wheels and tyres is a worthwhile investment. I have found a set on Skodaparts.co.UK for £400 (wheels and tyres) is this a good price? they say 'budget' but not what make of tyre. thanks.
  20. +1 vote for the Roomster. Had a mk1 fabia estate with our first child, with the second on the way changed to Roomster. Did look at Octavia but liked the fact that Roomster is still a smallish car but huge inside, more legroom than Octavia (I'm 6ft2 and my 3 year old cant kick the back of my seat) and more versatile / flexible seating. plus the low windows in the back and Panoramic sunroof make it great for kids. I know the looks are love or hate but they do grow on you!
  21. I do like the look of this, I know that the tech will also be released in the Golf next year as the Golf Bluemotion Twin Power and it is said that it can go into any VAG car using the MQB platform so an Octavia hybrid could be on the cards at some point.
  22. In a town near me there's a 'Butt Hole Lane' no kidding
  23. Well I think I lined them up until they looked right and stuck them down. The front ones had a slight curl in them towards the back so made sure that was flush with the sill. No issues with them so far. Of course I could of measured 0.5mm here or there but call me a nonconformist!
