  1. Strange coincidence...I ordered an Ibiza early October and specified March delivery...and they said "that SHOULD be possible".

  3. I'm interested in the poster's original photo....there seems to be a lot of corrosion going on under that bonnet - the strap, it's connection, the nearby bolt-head. I have a 2013 Citigo (with stop-start) and there is no sign of corrosion anywhere...in fact, in comparison under the bonnet looks like a new car and i don't know why there should be such a difference!
  4. Easy way with no need to remove anything......open bonnet. At each end of the black plastic moulding, there is a gap. Take a torch and look inside....you will see a rectangular drain-hole (one at each side of the car)....these get blocked with debris/leaves and prevent water from draining out behind the front wheel. Take a long pointed object ( a bbq skewer for example) and make sure that these holes are clear.....you should then be able to pour water into the plenum chamber (that's what it's called) and watch it drain out behind each front wheel. Job done. The other way is to remove the black plastic moulding.....but it may be awkward/difficult to replace it properly.

  6. My Citigo is 5 years old and the filler-cap "O-ring" is unblemished....looks like new!
  7. ^^At each end of the plenum chamber there is a drain hole. Look through the gap at either end of the black plastic cover (with a torch if necessary)...but don't try to remove it! If there is debris, it usually collects at these drain-holes....you can clear them with a long, thin object....like a bbq skewer. When clear, you should be able to pour water into the plenum chamber, it will run to either end and drain out behind the front wheels.

    I shouldn't worry too much about the reasoning behind the light oddities...my 2013 Greentech has exactly the same bulbs/filaments working as yours and has just passed it's 2nd MOT. I agree with Hyphons...economy of manufacturing - simpler and quicker to have all countries' cars with the same bulbs.

  10. It's just that a number of places DO charge more as the engine size increases (formula1 autocentres where I go, for example) .....and before they introduced "one price for all models" - so did Skoda UK. So not all that silly an idea.
  11. ....and I don't think that a service on a small £10000 car should cost the same as the same service on a large car costing several times more. Or, is that just me thinking it's a con?
  12. I've never had a PCP...but do know that dealers love them- for exactly the reason you're experiencing ie you become a sort of "captive" customer. In your position, I'd keep your present car.
  13. Take it up with the dealer....if the Black Edition came with the PID as part of it's spec, insist on having one.
  14. Re cambelts/chain...definitely a belt of the long-life variety....shouldn't ever need changing (that's not official Skoda, but off-the record from my dealership's service manager).
  15. "the headlights no longer come on dimly"......when you switch on the sidelights, the headlamps SHOULDN'T come on at all....why would they? If you want the headlamps on (dipped or main-beam), you turn the switch to the next position.
  16. ....and meant to say that I agree with you about the service prices for the larger cars...Citigo owners are subsidising owners of Yetis, Superbs, Octavias etc. No way should a Citigo cost the same (or more) as the bigger motors.
  17. "Fixed" isn't fixed at all...it's the maximum the service dept. can charge...they are free to charge as little as you can negotiate. In my case, the first service (in 2014) was quoted at £135...I said that people on here were getting it for less than £100...and they instantly said "How about £90 then?". The same at the second service...about a third off the original price.
  18. Unfortunately, the fourth year service IS a big'un...irrespective of mileage covered. You might argue (as dealer service people do) that very low mileage cars are in greater need of servicing than higher mileage ones. You could save money by going to a VAG specialist independent servicing place...the labour rates are often half that of main dealers.
  19. My Greentech came with Continental tyres....and I'd have them again. Personally, I wouldn't be interested in changing to "standard" tyres..I don't think I'd notice any minor differences in economy or ride comfort. And, after all, the changes to the car that make it a Greentech, were made with "eco" tyres in the equation.
  20. For a trickle-charger to work via the 12v socket, that socket needs to be "live" all the time....even with the ignition "off" and the key removed. In the Citigo, it's NOT live all the time. If the ignition switch has an "accessories" position (not sure if they do, these days), then you could use the 12v socket for charging BUT would need to leave the key in the ignition all the time!
  21. The reflectors are designed for the standard incandescent bulbs and maximise light output from them. You'll notice that all standard-fit LED DRLs cover a large front-facing surface area...the light you see simply shines outwards. This is why no LED replacement bulb gives a satisfactory result when fitted into the reflector...it's simply not designed for LEDs.

  23. There will have been enough of these PCP returns by now for them to know EXACTLY what should come with the car....so they WILL be looking for it! The idea of buying the cheapest used one is a good one...I'd be doing that.
  24. I suspect that if it was part of the original spec of that car then, it needs to be there....or you will be charged for it. Was it in the spec of the car or was it an option that you paid extra for?
  25. That did cross my mind, too...although my handbook lists fuses 4 and 22 as "daytime running lights" and no separate fuse for the sidelights.
