  1. I admire you optimism, but i have seen a car same age as mine and similar spec at a local independent garage for £15500.
  2. we buy any car valuation - £13,000 Before the VW diesel engine scandal broke, we buy any car had valued my car last August at £15250, a month or so later when it all kicked off, they valued my car at £13000 cap guide (private sale) - £13650 - £14250 ford cap guide (trading in) - £12950 - £13750 2 seperate Ford dealers - £12500 I have agreed to trade it in for £14000, against a new Ford Fiesta ST3, Spirit Blue, Style pack, Reverse Sensors, spare wheel. On that price it will settle the remaining finance and there will be a little bit leftover towards deposit on new car. Still a kick in the balls though.
  3. I shouldn't get knocked down on price because of the emissions scandal as my car is ok and has not been recalled.
  4. I am thinking of selling my 2014/14 Octavia VRS TDI CR hatchback manual, i do not have a clue as to what price to advertise it for, there is not a lot of private sales on Autotrader etc, so that's no help, is there a website i can look at to get a fair valuation ?.
  5. I seem to remember reading a post from an MOT tester, can't think of what forum it was though, that when he had checked a VAG diesel cars emissions, the car would not rev past about 2500 rpm. In the old days of rotary and inline pumps, if we had a diesel that had failed it's emission testing, we would wind out the max revs stop screw, so the engine would not Rev as high just for the MOT, everyone did it and the MOT station knew you had done it, still passed it though.
  6. I read this article earlier and wondered if the values of VAG cars had been affected already. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-3247682/Car-valuation-experts-say-emissions-scandal-not-discernible-impact-prices-used-Volkswagen-motors.html I had a valuation from We Buy Any Car early August, then another valuation end of August and the price was only £65 less, i did a fresh valuation today and the valuation was £2,220 less, it may be that they just don't want another VAG group car on their books because owners are trying to get rid now, i tried to ring them to ask why the big drop in price and to tell them that some cars like mine are unaffected, nobody answering the phones.
  7. I checked my 2014 Octy VRS vin number and it is not affected, which surprised me as I have often wondered how they have managed to get the emissions so low on these engines, I doubt I would have taken it in for the recall anyway as I like how it drives now. This should mean my car is worth more when I come to sell it (applying car dealer logic)

  11. Hi, thanks for the info, were the Eibach springs you used the proline version and what was the actual drop in ride height?, i notice in your sig you have listed B6 dampers, how do they compare to the B8's, so either Eibach or H&R ARB's should make a significant improvement in body roll?.
  12. I have had my mk3 vrs 12 months now and it's about time I sort out the "sport" suspension, IMO it is too soft. The upgrades I am thinking of doing is to fit the Bilstein B12 suspension kit, although I did not really want to lower the car as I understand this kit comes with eibach pro springs. The other upgrades would be to fit front and rear anti roll bars, H&R ?, Any advice from someone running this setup or similar would be much appreciated. Regards, Mark
  13. Sorry to everyone who is waiting, i just know i could not have waited that long and gone and bought something else, so it was lucky that i found this one for sale at the dealer.
  14. I got the car from Skoda in Leamington, i did not order it, it was in the showroom.
  15. Anyone got a picture of their Candy White VRS fitted with mud flaps and black Turini's, i am tempted to fit some mud flaps because of all the crap being thrown up, and i have a soft spot for Turini's, i used to have a Renault Clio RS182 with Trophy anthracite Turini's fitted.
  16. I have found that Jpeg pics show up the best and no more than 500x500 pixels in size, i have mine set at 500x300, you can use paint in windows to alter pixel size and convert png to jpeg.
  17. Picked up a new 2014 Octavia VRS CR hatchback in candy white on the 31st March, i originally went in to order a new VRS estate in candy white with a few extras, but was told the delivery time could be 3 - 6 months, however they had a new Candy white VRS CR hatchback in the showroom, with most of the basic options i wanted, colour maxi dot, cruise control, space saver, winter pack(heated seats, washer jets and windscreen), sunset glass, black design pack and boot liner, the other options i wanted was full leather and variable boot floor, but that is for estate only. After agreeing to buy the car i was able to pick it up about 3 hours later that day.
  18. I have had my new Octavia VRS diesel a couple of weeks now, thought i would just say hi.
