  1. Hi guys! I have disassembled my front bumper as I am changing one of the front lights. In the operation I saw that my horns are placed on each side underneath the bumper, and I suddenly remembered how weak they sound. My horns have the same tone as a small baby, but the baby screams much louder. I actually wont use the horn, because I think the sound of it is embarassing :p Has anyone experienced the same kind of thing with their horns, and are there any solutions? Maybe I should buy a trailer-horn :p ? Thanks in advance =)
  2. The weirdest thing happened this monday! My car had been parked in the garage for the weekend, and guess what: I couldn't fire it up monday morning :p Had to get jumper-cables and kick-start the battery with my 68 Amazon... Charged the battery the following night, and the next morning the folding mirrors was working again.. Case closed
  3. Hi! My superb 03 has gotten an issue with the mirrors. In the summertime I normally fold in the mirrors when parking in public places, and so I did last monday. But when I turned the knob over to fold out the mirrors again nothing happened, nothing at all. Eventually I went outside and folded out the mirrors manually, but I can feel that they arent locked in position, as they tend to misposition if i drive in windy conditions. I can adjust the mirrors, the heat in them is functional, even the backing-function and the entrance-lightning is OK. Any ideas for what could be the fault anyone ? =) If there excists any schematics for opening the mirrors and the components inside maybe I could use that =)
  4. Hi guys! This summer I have lent my car to my brother, as I have been driving taxi all night and asleep all day. When I now have gotten the car back I see that he has managed to damage a few minor components of the car, he has suddenly not been taking good care of it :( The damage that irritates me the most is the broken "blowout valves" for the blowout in the middle of the backseat (see enclosed picture) http://www.bildr.no/view/1025421 As you see two of the "bolts" are broken, which means that I cant regulate the unit to turn up or down. Are there any suggestions for how I can fix this problem, and if possible where I can buy new components? Thanks in advance, Petter
  5. After a visit at my local dealer they finally found the problem. After looking for three hours they found a cable with its voltage missing. Turned out it was the main voltage for the door-steering unit. They put up a new cable, so the problem is now solved. The other workshop I went to the first time really disappointed me. The first and the last time I'm visiting them:P
  6. Noone with a reasonable answer for me ? :'(
  7. Hi guys! I've been experiencing some trouble with my drivers door on my superb 03 the past few months.. Since I live in Europe the steering-wheel is on the left side. The first thing i felt was that the door wouldn't unlock or lock by the central-locking-system, so I unlocked it manually with the key and have been doing that for the past months.. Just after I couldn't open my door automatically I also saw that I couldn't regulate the left mirror, fold it in or put heat on it.. The entrance-light works fine, and if I choose the left mirror, it also regulates the right mirror like it should do(different than in britain of course:P) My local workshop has been looking at the problem several times, contacted their main office, heard with other workshops(one of the mechanics has been working for the dealer prior) etc. They have tried changing the door-locking-unit, the door-steering-unit, and apparentally checked all cables, both the cables in the door and in the floor. Since I've had the car in for the same problem 5 or 6 times now, and they dont seem to find out what is wrong, I thought I could try to help them by asking you guys.. Is there anyone here that have experienced the same kind of problem, or could give me a clue or two of what to check? Thanks in advance
  8. After a visit on my local garage it turned out it was trouble with the height-sensor on the front bearing arm... Great to have the xenon-problem out of earth, now i just have to sort out the front-door that will only unlock manually:P
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270641102359&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT I just bought theese from ebay, after my originals had gotten stolen and air let out from my tires.. Havent gotten them in the mail yet, but I suspect them in my mailbox soon =)
  10. Maybe I can put in a little question as well. The horn on my superb 03 feels very weird compaired to other cars I've driven.. The sound feels very low.. Pretty high frequency so you need a bit of volume to pump it up.. I need to tune down the volume of my stereo to hear the horn when I use it.. I dont have any error messages in the car that tells me there is anything wrong. Are the horns of the superb built that way? Maybe I will change the original one with a trailer horn in a time:P
  11. Hi! Just got home from a meeting with other entusiast of the Volvo Amazon, and on the way home driving my superb 03 I got stuck by a foreign camper-truck... For a loooong time, the line of cars behind him got up to 300 meters long, a lot of cars. After laying behind him approx 45 km (28 miles) with slooow driving and no signs of letting cars go by him, I got to a dual-lane-road where I could drive by him. As I was "a little ****ed of" I gave him a little concert with my horn, and as I got by him and let go of the horn the airbag fault message came up in my display and the airbag lamp lighted up. I wasn't hammering the steering-wheel, as I was more depressed than ****ed off when driving by him, so I wasn't pushing the steering-wheel so hard. I dont know how the airbag-system is built up, so I dont know how the connectors are made and that stuff.... Guess I have to take the car to my workshop-dealer over the weekend if the lamp doesn't remove itself. Does this sound like an expensive repair? :'(
  12. Hi! Just bought the Steering-Wheel Stalk adaptor CTSSK001 from ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-Skoda-Steering-Wheel-Stalk-Adaptor-CTSSK001-/170521113428?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET ) to connect my Pioneer FH-P80BT to the steering-wheel control in my Superb 03. Pulled out the stereo sunday to take a look, and what I saw was that the connectors for the pioneer-stereo did'nt fit the adaptor, and that there wasn't any way I could connect the adaptor according to the installation manual. According to the schematics I should connect the aftermarket lead to the stereo, that part is ok. Part 3 says I shold connect the stalk adaptor to the multiconnector, and the connector back in the stereo.. But there doesn't excist any entrance for the connector back in my stereo.. If we move to part 4 there doesnt excist any multiconnector from the car to connect in my stereo, what I can find is the blue system remote control cable, and a yellow cable I dont know the function for. Could I try to connect the System remote control cable to the multiconnector, and could the yellow cable help me, or am I really on the wrong track here? I can find a blue and white-striped cable in the multiconnector, so I could try connecting to that one. If this works out part 4 of the installation manual is fixed, but part 3 could be a little harder:P Could anyone help me here? Thanks in advance
  13. Hi! I have some experience with that room:P The remote-control for my diesel-heater fits perfect in that room if you put it in the right way, and so did the remote-control for the stereo I thought. Fail! The room got jammed like hell, and I could neither open it or close it.... The solution was trying to pull up the room right under the arm rest right up. The room is attached with a set of barbs or wickers (I dont know the actual technical term:P) so if you try to pull it right up you might get it loose, worked fine to me and didn't get the feeling that I broke it:P If you get that room up you get a better view of the little room, so maybe that can help you out.. At least it worked for me, was just to pull up the remote from the inside:P Good luck
  14. I recently towed a Volvo Amazon on a trailer with my Super 1,9TDI 131 hp.. Drove almost 600 miles with it, and it impressed me.... With a trailer-weight of probably 1600kg my dieselconsumption was 26 mpg.. No stinky clutch-smell after driving up hills and I kept it running with the other traffic without trailers =)
  15. I have tried to localize the height sensor, but I'm having trouble finding it. Spent some time yesterday trying to localize it, but I didn't find. Maybe there are sitting on different places, the passats and the superbs.. Can anyone take a picture of the sensor and where it is located? It would help me a lot =)
