  1. I picked up my new MY17 SE L 75PS Greentech 3 door on Thursday. I'd already downloaded the iPhone app in readiness, but although I could get the Bluetooth to connect at the dealership, the app itself wouldn't connect. Deleting and redownloading it fixed that issue. The nav does seem incredibly basic, but to be honest it does (and displays) everything I would want it to do (I'm not bothered about speed camera displays, etc), though I'm a bit disappointed that you can't seem to save favourite addresses. Also, I've used the nav twice now. Once with music streaming, when it gave voice instructions, and then the second time with the radio playing, where it subdued (not muted) the radio volume to speak voice instructions, but didn't actually speak. Think I'll have a look at the volume settings again. And yes, a user manual would be a bonus.
  2. Yep, I'm up for it. The Caldecotte Arms might be a good venue - massive carpark, easy to find, used to car clubs meeting there, does food, etc... Dale
  3. Hmm, two conflicting replies :S I'm not fitting a plate holder - just aluminium plates in place of plastic ones. RADIOTWO - you've misread what I put: "bosses/plugs/threads", not "bosses plug, and threads" - meaning something already attached to the steel of the tailgate allowing me to screw a numberplate to it without having to drill a hole... Dale
  4. Having missed out on the group buy for Dubmeister 'plates as my V5C has only just arrived and I now need to swap my personal reg onto the car, I'm considering a set of these apparently road legal Dubmeister pressed aluminium numberplates. Now, my original 'plates are stuck on with double sided tape, but I wouldn't want to rely on tape to hold aluminium 'plates on! Behind the numberplates, are there bosses/plugs/threads to enable numberplates to be screwed on instead (like a Ford has, 9" apart, for example)? I don't want to start drilling holes in my tailgate, so if there's no existing mounts, I'll have to stick with boring old perspex 'plates :S Thanks, Dale
  5. I get exactly the same thing! People with Mercs (from experience, unreliable, overpriced, chintzy, look-at-me-I'm-important taxis!) are the worst, but I just store up all the remarks. Some people love telling everyone that there is no way they would ever get in a Skoda - that's really funny when they're broken down in the rain in their non-Skoda, and you pull up, roll the window down, chat for a second and drive away! No point in offering a lift, as they would never get in a Skoda Dale
  6. Just bought an '06 Octavia vRS 2.0T FSi hatch in Corrida Red from Sherlodge, and can't rate them highly enough Dale
  7. That wouldn't happen to be at Wayside Milton Keynes, would it? There was a Mk1 Golf cabrio left out there in exactly the same way a couple of weeks ago... Dale
  8. Just joined the site while I count down to next Saturday when I collect my new toy - '06 Octavia vRS. I've had numerous Skodas over the years - a 120L Five, a 136RiC, a Felicia 1.9D pickup (bought new), a Felicia 1.3LXi, and soon the Octavia. Other toys include a Triumph TR7 FHC which will eventually be getting a Sprint 16v engine on bike carbs and a Megajolt ignition, a pair of Yamaha SRX-6's, and a pair of late 50's/early 60's Agrati Capri scooters to restore/modify.
