  1. Try Brentacre ! Did me a cheaper deal than the comparison sites and its for a modified policy.
  2. I really like these, just seem a bit too bright :/ if only there was less green they would be perfect
  3. this was done a couple of years ago http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/126680-early-results-mixing-2-stroke-oil-into-derv/
  4. Hmm well its insurance time for me too, best quote for a normal policy £446, beating my Asda renewal of £474. Found a modified policy on money supermarket for £502, (car not currently modified) Not sure which to go for, or wait till tuesday and ring Brentacre/Adrian Flux/Sky. Insurance runs out Tuesday 17:30 Advice anyone ? Thinking £54 isn't a lot to start on the path to modifying, but could it be cheaper ?
  5. Glad this issue is all sorted out now, and I feel most of the blame for them taking so long to turn up should be on Royal Fail. If they hadn't returned them to Saint claiming they were illegal items then I would have had them months ago, They took his money and failed to provide the service he paid them for, and I doubt he got a refund for it either ! Many Thanks Saint1d
  6. Finally the HID Kit turned up yesterday 4 1/2 months after I paid for them. Can't say I'm impressed and had given up on them turning up, but at least they did eventually.
  7. still waiting...... perhaps I should pop up there and visit with a few buddys.
  8. ahh now it was showing camshaft/crankshaft? sensor when I bought it, and after changing egr valve / timing belt / waterpump / and master cylinder the crank/cam fault had gone.... its been scanned about 4times since and not showing anything.
  9. Still not arrived and no replies to messages......
  10. Hello all, I have an issue with my Fabia vRS, it is intermittent but seems to be getting more frequent, When trying to start the car in warm weather, if its been sat all day in the sun it will sometimes turn over many times before firing, even if I've used the glow plugs a few times, also does the same restarting after a drive with engine still warm, its not showing any fault codes. I've searched on here and can't seem to find anything with a similar problem.... thinking Temp Sensors ? Can anyone help or advise on where to start, don't think its the glow plugs as it was starting fine in -10 ~ -15 in the winter. It starts much better in cold weather than hot ! Please help someone, Many Thanks !
  11. Hi, Don't know what your key is for, but my internals look totally different to yours. However I believe my "quartz thingymajig" says 13.575, maybe this will help you
  12. would also like to know this as I have one broken anyone ? :p
  13. HID kit STILL has not arrived, 3 months after I sent a cheque.
  14. i'm wondering what game that is where the girls got a brick in her hand.
  15. I had a similar issue on my standard vrs, car was all over the place under braking and felt terrible and very unstable., was eventually diagnosed as a faulty master cylinder, putting the braking force mostly into only part of the diagonal circuits. Modern cars have diagonal circuits on brakes - 1,osf/nsr 2,nsf/osr - or whichever way round it is, to give some braking force if one circuit loses pressure. So maybe take your car to an mot test place and ask them to pop it on the rollers and see if its braking evenly.
  16. I would suggest you take it to a decent and well reviewed mapper as any decent one would be able to sort it all out themselves without fobbing you off sending you back to skoda... Try Shark.
  17. Yes thats the correct filter for the SDI, but you would be much better going to a motor factors than ebaying. Got a Allwoods, GSF, Eurocarparts near you, or a TPS ? TPs will provide a genuine part cheaper than the dealer, good prices As I said earlier the correct filter is about £7 from Allwoods.
  18. those look fab Pasty nice to see a bit of diy gets something worthwhile. So the black ones are going spare now ?
  19. Nothing wrong with using diesel cleaner at all, a bit of tlc for the car every so often is essential, giving things a clean and replacing filters is something that should be done regularly. Fuel filters should be changed atleast once a year and they are cheap enough. Maybe more often if your doing the mileage. Also the occasional thrashing will do the world of good and unclog and blast out all sorts of crud thats settled.
  20. Fuel maybe had some contaminents in it or you've disturbed some crud in the tank and its blocked the filter, its worth a try to fix your issue as its an easy job and cheap, and you've not changed it in 4years so its well due. Pop to your local motor factors and get one Mahle or Mann filters are same as original I think, pull the old one out - its the silver looking circular object with pipes bottom left of the engine compartment, just behind the headlight. Take the pipes off and making sure you connect them the same way round andchange it over, good idea to pour a bit of diesel inside to get it going if you have some to hand, if not don't worry it will pull it through but expect to be cranking it over for about 60-90 seconds before it fires. Very easy job, under 5 minutes and only a pair of pliers or mole-grips require to loosen the pipe clips.
