  1. UPDATE: Car is having a new clutch fitted.
  2. Dealer is keeping car in for a week so it seems they have found something amiss. Hopefully it will come back in once piece.
  3. I'll see what they say.... Other than a bit of noise at idle, car is great. Dealer has given me a Rapid Spaceback courtesy car. I must admit I like the Octavia much more. It seems more grown up and smoother all round. Rapid seems a bit bargain basement in comparison.
  4. The engine seems quieter when clutch is pressed in. Its an intermittent issue only noticeable on idle.
  5. My car is in dealership - hopefully they will find out what the sound is.... Any ideas or anyone had similar??
  6. Hi everyone. Its been a long time, but I have come back to skoda. Ive had a Kia, then Audi for the last 5 years, owning two octavias before those. The Audi A1 was today traded in for a 64 plate Skoda Octavia 1.4 140 TsI SE in candy white, Canton, MFSW and cruise control. Its a very smooth ride, and very impressed with the engine. In the A1, the 1.4 tfsi 122 was quite vocal, and there wasnt enough low down power, with noticable turbo lag. The Octavia has no such issue. Still getting used to the car, but its a very easy car to drive. So hi to everyone here! Richard
  7. Hi, id just like to ask, has anyone with canton installed the skoda-kenwood sat nav unit.? Any compatability issues? Thanks
  8. I would go for the Elegance and add just a couple of options you really want but wouldn't go over the top with extras. I specd my Elegance up to the old L&K spec except for the leather. 3 Years later and its not worth any more on a part ex than a standard fit. a loss of about £1K. If you really want all the bells and whistles, go for the L&K, and you'll not lose as much on resale.
  9. Hi to all. I have a 3 year old octavia 1.6FSI and am thinking of replacing it with a new one. Does anyone know if the 1.2TSI is a good bet or should I go for the 1.4TSI? I'm not really after a performance upgrade and do less than 5000 miles a year, with very little motorway drives. I appreciate only Yeti drivers have experienced the 1.2, so how does the actual performance of the 1.4 compare with the 1.6fsi? Any thoughts welcome. Thanks
