  1. I think I saw the same talks >>> http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/261643-18-tsi-excessive-oil-consumption/
  2. If someone drive constant motorway and little braking so the Tyre wear is minimal + motorway driving the Tyre only rolling just all Where braking , acceleration, cornering eats Tyre quickly + road surface as well some road less friction some more . Tyre pressure , car load , Tyre rubber etc .... So for me it is better to have good grip tyre , than to have tyre which last long + but none grip It can be miracle tyre which grips very good and last long Do not know this tyre all tyres with good grip will be softer rubber more harder compound tyre will last longer
  3. Not 1.6 TDI but 1.9 TDI GreenLine Same GreenLine editions 105 Hp how much you getting per tank as these reading ..... say if you fill about 50 ltr how many miles you drive ? before you need to fill up again "before lights come on" for 1.9 TDI works about 600 Miles Maths 50/ 600 = 0.083 per mile x 60 miles = 5 ltr 5 ltr per 60 miles works out 54 mpg How to get this (4.5 x 60) / 5 (yours reading) = 54 mpg (miles per gallon as gallon is 4.5 ltr ) The MDF show > 60 mpg but real consumption less My roads 60% motorway + 30-40% traffic roads If will be motorways only non stop driving 60 + mpg easy with speed max 70 mph more speed more fuel the best speed 60-65 mph rev 1800-1900 rpm this is most economical drive
  4. I have check some else they have laser old stand equipment "manual" not by PC for me it does not matter laser or cameras or else I just want to do alignment Then the man drive my car for test drive and from low speed looks ok say 10-20 mph but if 40 mph or more is noticeable goes more left say 70% left and sometimes 30 % right Anyway then he check with laser and all show 0 looks like ok the alignment but for older cars Then he told lets check spec and on the spec by his system by plate number showing that it is can NOT be 0 i cannt remember now toe 1.2 angle or something where my was 0 he explain that suspension weight etc that why need angle toe anyway I do know this learning now Now Im confused as Kwik Fit have PC which show one alignment the garage check they saying i need toe 1.2 angle Now I am looking for the correct specifications for setting front and back wheel alignment on skoda superb 1.9 TD 2009 Green Line As these check make me crazy paying money my was £74 and need spend hours latter to fix this How much time I spend on this imagine Now learning wheels alignment reading how it must be set and I payed Kwik Fit for this HOW THE HELL THIS CAN BE can you imagine how do I feel
  5. Hi All I am looking for the correct specifications for setting front and back wheel alignment on skoda superb 1.9 TD 2009 Green Line kwickFit have done 4 wheels alignment or say they have try to do : 1 Time the steering was left not centred So I drive again 2 Time they have correct steering, “still not perfect anyway “ but they set all alignment to 0 “””I have checked somewhere else and they told it is not by the spec.””” The car now acts strange as if you left steering it can go left or right depend on road surface It is not anymore strait line . Im not say it is pull one side all the time but … The tyres - 4 new directional I have change old tyres and have problem with fronts as inside tyre was very worn out I think I need alignment to do kwickFit was not far think to go just to check and then bla lba bla yes you need alignment. The car was on the stand I told OK lets do THIS IS WAS BIG MISTAKE “”learned now “” So basically they have done incorrectly as for this car you have angle of toe - it can not be 0 Now do not know what to do request money back or try 3 time with correct spec Cannot understand they have PC with manufacturers data and it is looks correct Skoda superb 3T on the paper maybe different model they choose ?? I remember that skoda 1.9TDI Green Line have lowered suspension by manufacturer maybe they chose incorrect super version ??? But looks like kwickFit specialist only for car older than 20 years ago - AVOID to drive with cars like my The repair man how proud his camera alignment real live 3D on the screen equipment we are the same as dealer THIS IS BEGEST SCAM EVER If you give equipment to not trained man it does not matter how good equipment the man can only work with hammer Can someone help me with this thanks
  6. 2 year parts & labour warranty - How do you know this? How do I prove this 2 Years if on sales invoice stating 6 moth or 6000 miles “”Is it dealer have some contract with Skoda or ….?”” Can you please explain : ) Thanks
  7. Hi, I have replaced 1.9 TDI Cambelt + Water Pump The job have been done by main dealer Skoda + Skoda originals parts The question are: 1 If the belt fail after 10 Month 2 If the belt fail after 10 000 miles Do I have any right for repairs / claims ? on other side of sales invoice it is say 6 month or 6000 miles "Warranty " so What In trying to say that Dealer can not change anything at all and after 6 month it is your problems Like change Camblet but not change say water pump You drive another 20 000 Miles water pump fail How do prove that it has been replaced The point is water pump survive more miles that 1 cambelt change So you can easy do not replace the water pump and the driver will not notice - if it fails out of all warranties as water pump can survive 100 + Miles

  9. Hi, Is it tyre pressure 2.8 Bar normal or 3 bar ? any experience  My car recommended loaded pressure from 2.8 to 3.4 bar ? Winter time I need to add 0.2 bar by the booklet at the momen my tyres pressure 2.6-2.7 Bar Adding 0.2 bar Im reaching 3 bar tyre pressure My tyre Max Load 670 Kg at 340 Psa or 3.4 Bar So in theory I can inflate up to 3.4 bar? This what written on the tyre. Is it not risky to drive 3 bar tyre pressure? Please see attached file: Tyre presure.jpg Regards Inco
  10. Someone out of question My discussion was - THAT DEALER EDGE PROFESIONAL OVERPRICED YESTERDAY I HAVE CALL VW dealer and wanted to buy 4 Litres they EDGE professional from they big tank The price they quoted was 70 Pounds for 4 Litres oil So i think wow this professional oil must have something to be so expensive as on the market you can buy 4 Litres VW 507.00 oil for about 25-30 Pounds So than I start looking more deaper about this EDGE profesional and found that it is have this: a fluorescent signature colouration, when shone under a UV light and the spec for VW 507 So castrol edge5w-30 FST it is the same spec oil but without a fluorescent signature colouration SO WHY PAY MORE IF YOU CAN GET same oil cheaper LIKEcastrol edge5w-30 FST
  11. Nobody knows the difference between :  1 - castrol edge professional Longlife 5W30 VW507.00 2 -castrol edge FST 5W30 VW507.00 I think it is marketing the word professional give better feeling of professional, but it is maybe the same oil from the same specification as Castrol edge FST jus named castrol edge professional BUT THE PRICE MASIVE DIFERENCE
  12. Im looking for Long Life oil - by the service book it must be VW 507.00 The engine TDI PD DPF Where is the diference: castrol edge professional Longlife 5W30 VW507.00 castrol edge FST 5W30 VW507.00 The price: VW dealer for 1 Litre 13-14 Pounds for castrol edge professional 25-38 Pounds for Harfolds or web site 4 litres castrol edge FST 5W30 Do you see the difference 4 x 13 = 52 Pounds and 25/38 half price for Dealer oil but the same spec and today harfolds 38 Pounds for 4 Litre castrol edge FST or eurocarparts with discount 25 Pounds 4 Litre castrol edge FST
  13. Hi, I’m confused with the engine oil marketing We have: 1 castrol edge professional longlife iii 5w-30 ""The dealer oil """ They selling as 1 Litre ? is it better 2 castrol edge5w-30 FST ""HARFOLDS"" 3 quantum longlife iii 5w-30 ""VW replacement for castrol " What the difference between these oils I know the price will be different does the quality as well The biggest question is castrol edge professional DEALER AND HARFOLDS castrol edge5w-30 FST Are they different it is same VW 507.00 Thanks
  14. I know that garage is cheaper - But this is cambelt job so I will not risk for garage: ) Anyway it is will be next year job - as before I think it is need to change at 60k Why Im not driving to garage ( I can save from the service but): 1 If I need to sell my car everyone want to have dealer stamps (more easy to sell) 2 Dealer “I think they must be specialist for they cars“ they are more concentrate for they selling model then other ? or maybe wrong ? 3 Dealer warranties – don’t know in real life. But let’s say if cambelt brakes down after it was replaced. Dealer must take responsibilities for this as qualified mechanics done the job so LEGALY I think we must have quality for the job “we pay higher price for this or Im wrong”
