  1. Just had my injectors replaced too and noticed all the good points above youve mentioned however the regens have become far more aggressive and lasting much longer no warning lights or cutting out but drives like a pig revs to around 1100 rpm and sounds like exhaust got holes in it. Mine has had remap and definately over fuelling so considering dpf delete but cant seem to bring myself to spend the £800 those lovely helpful people at JBS Autos want can anyone suggest anyone else pleaseeeee.
  2. UPDATE ON THE DPF ISSUE Well carried out Bahnstormers instructions to the letter ref fuel the millers reverting the ecu back to oe settings and skoda assist, after explaining to skoda assist (RAC) the nature of the problem and repeatedly saying need a vag technician you may guess it after a 2 hour wait on the delightful A10 they send a non trained VAG technician with no vag fault diagnostic equipment !! However the chap was incredibly helpful and called his colleague who would be working the following morning and to expect me calling back in to rebook the job. Again a fabulously helpful fella turned up and plugged in the trusty VAG 50/52 diagnostic computer went through sequence of checking all fault codes and there was quite a few refering to some additional audio equipment fitted he cleared all faults but one. Anyway we got into the dpf section of the system and LOW AND BEHOLD 31% soot load nowhere near enough to cause the grief i was getting never the less he was happy to force a regen so of we go once vehicle upto running temperature we switch into regen mode, 50/52 tried 3 times to force the regen over a 60 mile journey we made and the ecu was refusing to do what it was being told to. This was a new problem to the tech Dpf not blocked but ECU not responding exactly as my mapper found. Next stop Skoda main dealer with Mr VAG amazing the service u get when walking in with one of these fellas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Car now booked for monday. Now me being me cant leave this, vehicle been in twice and they never even picked a single fault up so what chance have i got now Well now knowing its not a DPF related problem i contact an extremely good electronic diagnostic chap i no now the single fault code that was left has been there since day one as i had a friend who has a cheap hand held diagnostic tool that reads any codes on the ecu i remeber googling the code and it related to a dash pack problem now at this point i dismissed this as an issue mainly as everything functioned perfectly, How easy to overlook something that seems so irrelevant that has turned out to be quite the reverse. After a brief chat with the electronics expert and telling him my problem he states "it can only be 1 of 2 things" a faulty ECU or a problem in the CAN GATEWAY located guess where in the dash pack exactly where the initial fault 6 months earlier had been detected. Bring it down he said were check the config settings. Now after he checked all settings which appeared normal he run a full fault check Guess what the result was negative no fault found. Now im feeling very confused VAG saying it has a communication problem and Andy saying nothing wrong. He uses a different VAG system which he states does everything the 50/52 and 54 does and more i think he refered to it as the VCDS system or something like that. Now the most relevant thing that happened later that night to this story was during the heavy rain we were having i noticed a very strange new occurence with the wipers every time i stopped they went into intermittent mode and as i pulled away they came back full again this had never happened since ownership of the car, Ive since studied the book and read this is a standard feature. Now what shall i do has the VAG systems cleared something and all is ok or should i go to the dreaded dealer tomorrow. My electrician suggested sticking remap straight back on it and see result before inflicting no brain fitters on it. REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE ON THIS ONE BEFORE TOMORROW.
  3. hI been having same problems past 6 months dpf light been on once, Mine is trying to regen on a nigh on daily basis with increased rev total noise change to engine lumpy running but dealer keeps claiming no fault found well have got skoda assist on their to me now hopefully to force a regeneration this prob is being tracked already on a different thread have a quick search through dpf issue and your see ive already had some fantastic advice mainly from Bahnstormer
  4. Excellent advice thanks for the hint. In respect of DPF cant wait to see the back of the thing i just have a few reservations that it is definately whats causing the problem im just surprised the light has only illuminated once indicating the filter cant be that clogged. Do u think even if its 50% saturated that will be enough to stop the remap being efficient to the extent of 20+ bhp ???? Intend on carrying out Bahnstormers instructions to the letter... Thanks again
  5. All read and perfectly understood.Would like to add you as a friend so i can inform you off outcome. Thankyou very much for taking the time to help this really is an excellent site. Lee Ps the dealer whos been looking after the car up to now and been very helpful is , they never supplied the car it came from which is a pain for me to get too as i live in
  6. Re posted on no 23 sorry not useed to this thing yet
  7. mainly work nights other than the herts police run twice a day into stevenage so traffic is minimal most of the time im currently running at a 1000 miles a week many airport runs where i will be exceeding 3000 revs Try to avoid city diesel and supermarket fuel usually bp or total i can be a bit lively on pull offs but equally theres many miles i do cruising at 50/60 mph in top 2 gears Also dont forget the dpf light has only ever illuminated once in 30k over last 6 months Since yesterdays remap average mpg gone through the roof even the tuner was surprised that the amount of fuel he increased it by after the 3rd remap did not produce the slightest puff of black smoke its completely over fueling at moment first thing i intend to do is for him to put it back to yesterdays orriginal settings that can be done in mins as he stores all before and afters he even has facility to remote live tune ecu if vehicle was set up to take the signal. Will post hes web site link in a mo for your future reference http://www.perfect-touch.co.uk/ If i dont reply after u have i must just pop out for 10 mins to pick up the wife one theory i did have if the remap was being done whilst a regen was in operation would this have strangled turbo to extent it appears to have within 40 mins of leaving workshop she was over revving and doing her usual nonsense i actually took it back to him whilst this was happening weirdly whilst vehicle was idling it went back to normal condition but by time i pulled of to top of road the revs were back up and she was having her turn again this then lasted about 30 minutes This post has been edited by roadhawk: Today, 09:43 Back to top Report MultiQuote Reply Edit --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  9. Hi thanks for getting back to me so rapidly the vehicle is used for private hire not a convential taxi it does a 45 mile round trip twice daily with very little traffic i mainly work nights other than the herts police run twice a day into stevenage so traffic is minimal most of the time im currently running at a 1000 miles a week many airport runs where i will be exceeding 3000 revsTry to avoid city diesel and supermarket fuel usually bp or total i can be a bit lively on pull offs but equally theres many miles i do cruising at 50/60 mph in top 2 gears Also dont forget the dpf light has only ever illuminated once in 30k over last 6 months Since yesterdays remap average mpg gone through the roof even the tuner was surprised that the amount of fuel he increased it by after the 3rd remap did not produce the slightest puff of black smoke its completely over fueling at moment first thing i intend to do is for him to put it back to yesterdays orriginal settings that can be done in mins as he stores all before and afters he even has facility to remote live tune ecu if vehicle was set up to take the signal. 10. HI MANNYO THE TUNERS IVE USED HAVE CONFIRMED THEY CAN CUSTOM MAP THE ECU WITHOUT DPF NO PROBLEM THEY HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE ON A 530D BMW AND REMOVED IT BUT THE WORRY IS IN THE CASE OF THE BMW THE DPF HAD CLOGGED SO BAD IT HAD BACKED UP INTO THE TURBO AND BEING VARIABLE VEINED IT COMPLETELY DESTROYED IT SO REALLY NEED TO GET THIS SORTED ASAP WEIRD HOWEVER ONLY EVER HAD DPF LIGHT ON THE ONCE ?????? THE REGEN IT SEEMS TO BE DOING ON A NIGH ON DAILY BASIS IS SO AGGRESIVE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A LIGHT OF SOME SORT WOULD COME ON.
  11. HI BAHNSTORMER JUST BEEN IN TOUCH WITH SUPPLYING DEALER WHO DID IN FACT CARRY OUT ANY SERVICING ISSUES AND UNFORTUNATELY THE 26E6 AND GAS REGULATOR SENSOR WERE BOTH CHANGED IN FEB 09 AT 18580 MILES. NOW BEARING IN MIND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE THE 2ND I OWNED IT AT 22000 MILES WHERE DO U SUGGEST I GO FROM HERE PLEASE ????????????????????????????/
  12. 1 more question if the 26e6 has not been done and being the vehicle has now covered 51k will an upgrade cure the problem or would you say the DPF is now un-usable and needs replacing ??? Will this be a warranty replacement in your opinion as its still whithin the 60k 3 year period.
  13. FANTASTIC ADVICE AND YES MINE WAS ACTUALLY REGISTERED IN MARCH 08 SO BUILD COULD HAVE BEEN 07 AND IN SPRINT YELLOW COULD HAVE SAT ABOUT LINCOLNSHIRE FIRE SERVICE OWNED FROM NEW AND I THINK MAINTAINED ALL THERE VEHICLES AT OWN POLICE GARAGE SO COULD IMAGINE ITS BEEN MISSED. TUNE GUY VERY HELPFUL HAS ACTUALLY SAID BEFORE TAKING IT INTO SKODA HE WILL REVERT BACK TO STANDARD SETTING S AND THEN UPLOAD REMAP AND RETWEAK AFTER DPF SORTED. tHANKS INVAILUABLE

  16. r u sure dpf not covered im still on manufacteurers warranty
  17. Absolutely agree with xman i used 1 man band and had a tensioner snap 4 days after job was done for being over tightened very lucky belt only jumped 6 teeth had it been 7/8 goodbye cylinder head. Was also told if genuine belt and tensioner kit is supplied it carrys the 4 year 60k warranty with it so any damage to engine occuring due to cam belt failer VAG will cover the damage. Patterns do not carry this guarantee apparently.
  18. Hi all very big disappointment today eventually decided on remapping my vrs so found very well recommended tuning/performance centre to do the job. Will start by saying since owning the car from 22k at 2 yrs old ive had an intermittent fault the car will increase idle revs to about 1100 rpm and run like a complete dog lumpy hesitant the engine tone completely changes but once on open road takes of like its found an extra 25 bhp if no open rd available it can remain running rough for 10/30 minutes. Typical response from main dealer no fault found. Anyway 1 night it was particularily bad and the DPF light came on so i followed instructions as per manual and after about 12 miles light went out. Fault still present occuring now usually daily. Next service interval please check DPF you might guess comment NO FAULT FOUND WITH DPF. So have lived with problem for last 6 months car now completed 50k (i do huge mileage) Anyway off she went this morning for remap. Got call after 1st dyno reading car actually producing 178bhp only mod is a k&n panel filter so very pleased to think the 30 bhp additional power should increase to 200 plus !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then came the 2nd call remapped 3 times and can only find an additional 8 bhp he said he pushed everything to the very limit. His conclusion is the DPF is partially blocked not enough to bring up fault codes but enough to not let the turbo produce anymore boost. Since taking the car tonight and parting with £350 hard earned pounds the same ****s happening, now bearing in mind the car had a 50 mile traffic free run this morning before reaching the garage and as the tech man said hes run it on dyno for at least an hour at very high speeds you would assume DPF as clear as it could be. Now before i kick of at the local Skoda dealer tomorrow i would value any advice and reassurance that this is potentially the main cause i dont intend on telling them its been in for remap just that i cannot live with this problem anymore. 1 last thing that may be relevant mpg has never been anything like what is stated on official stats it averages between 39-44 mpg and i dont do much town driving in it. PLEASE ADVISE
  19. Give them a call on 01268 285535 incredibly helpful people.Im still at a very early stage of deciding what to do and im still under manu warranty and considerin my vrs is used as a Private Taxi think the sensible thing to do is for me to wait until warranty expires which is about 6 months away.
  20. Just answered Tom on this question. Spoke to pipecraft in essex today concerning this and yes totally possible he wanted to see original DPF as to how many additional pipes and sensors would need to added to replacement so impossible to price the job for me, but as a guide i used them to link an exhaust after cats were cut out and i was charged £30 for each of the 2 cats he removed. I appreciate this is a far easier job than were discussing but ive taken the decision its well worth exploring, Im with you on destroying a perfectly good piece of engineering.
  21. Hi Tom been a while since you posted this question but had a discussion with a chap today regarding this mod. He runs a company called pipecraft in basildon essex they make complete custom exhaust systems mainly for V8's. Well i rung him to see feasability of making a replacement downpipe instead of cutting up original DPF whilst he said this is not a problem and completely acheivable he found it a much more cost effective way to modify the original. He ran through the process that he had done to a Safira diesel and i must say it was the exact process that you have developed. The customer was delighted with the end result.
  22. Cheers for the advice amazing though how a large multi franchised main dealer could get it so wrong !!! how many people must file the invoice without even checking, were paying these jokers £65 plus an hour which is basically more than a NHS hospital surgeon. VERY FRUSTRATING.
