Been a while since I posted on here. Visited a Skoda garage yesterday and they are expecting Facelifted Yeti's in the showroom from January. Asked them to give me a call when they were in and I'll go and have a test drive.

Long time no comments - missing my Yeti - so been waiting for the FL photos to see what's coming soon. Quite like the renders, so looking forward to seeing more photos and pricing as I could quite easily be tempted back from the VW fold.

I used the 'muscavado' kit on my wing mirror and passenger door about a month ago. Bought a 000 sized brush from an art store as the coloured brush was typically huge and I was only filling stone chips. Probably should have used the wire to clean out the hole, but CBA Used the 000 for Muscavado then the supplied brush on the clear. Door looked better than the mirror in the end.

Yesterday I made the hardest decision in 2.5 years when I PX'ed my 170 Yeti for a bigger 4x4 (got £15000 for her too) I've loved owning and driving her over this time and not had a problem - 37000 miles, two services, 2 Windscreens (stone chip on the m25), a set of tyres and averaged 42mpg. The only warranty job was on the white worm on the rear badge and the only other visit to the garage was when I took Yeti up against bigger 4x4's on a serious off road course and splattered the underbody protection plates (they did their job), but proved the Haldex is a brilliant piece of kit even on road tyres. having got a 6 foot tall teenager and a growing family, the lack of space in the back and boot when on holidays or shopping was starting to cause some logistic problems. I had been waiting on Skoda releasing a bigger 4x4 model, but alas this isn't happening in the near future :-( also considered waiting for the new Octavia or up to the Supurb but neather were quite doing it for me. So after lots and lots or research, I've picked a 9 month old VW Touareg SE mk2 as the replacement, so keeping in the VW Family (I had a VW Bora V5 before my 3 Skoda's covering the last 8 years). Many similarities, gained in a few areas and lost the Dynamic Xenon's and rear privacy glass, variable servicing in the proces. Before I go, I want to thank everybody on this Forum for their help and comments over the last 3 years of waiting for and driving my Yeti. I did wonder if my complaint was caused by running the 17 inch rear tyres harder than normal because of the extra load (family of 4 plus luggage)

Just spent a week on holiday in Cumbria and almost every other car spotted was a Yeti - did I miss a convention somewhere or are they the popular choice for use on the little winding roads? Personally, mine behaved all week, loved the little mountain passes and tracks, Sat Nav worked brilliantly finding places to visit and giving me an average of 41 mpg (which Im quite happy with). The only complaint I got was from the backseat where the comment was it was a little uncomfortable over the bumps and could do with more headroom for 6 footers - the first complaint in 2 yeears :-(

Made use of my Park Asist yesterday for about the first time in 12 months when trying to park into a very small slot. Worked a treat and the passengers were all bowled over watching the car park it's self (ok I pressed the peddles) Well worth the extra for that!

Yes, there's a new Range Rover due later this year.

I tend to use the long one with picket across behind the rear seats for bottles of water and to stop my tool bag, warning triangle, golf brollies etc.. Sliding arounds. The bigger one is used to stop my monopod and fold up seat from sliding over the boot. Never used the side one

Love my 170, puts a smile on my face when you give the accelerator a nudge and you leave some hot hatches behind. Just a shame it doesn't come with a DSG as my friends got it in his VW And it goes very well.
