  1. well i think anything over 1500 is alot... but if your eyes are set on a car then i dont htink the price matters... im currently paying 2500 for my car and i personally think its worth every penny.im sure walkie would agree that when your hearts set on a car then the price of insurance doesnt come in to it really. just shop around tbh cos insurance is just a joke with sum companies.. i was quoted between 2500 to 8000. it may sound stupid but the maxxpower website has alot of good insurance companies for young/lack of experienced drivers.. -ho
  2. its fun... u should enjoy yourself and dont hold yourself back really... it cost about 50 quid everytime ive been down. tbh the only flaw is the on site guns so i would suggest taking your own. it hurts but not exactly painfull... apart from beign shot on the head pointblank (mask only covered the face) and obvs the nuts.... also remember spare clothing... agree with greg.... dont wear to much clothing.. i generally just wear my boxers and the overalls.. and be trigger happy.. it is more fun that way and if uve got good aim then why not. have fun and remember to duck... - ho
  3. alright m8... welcome to briskoda... the car is pretty good. if i needed a family car then it would be first on my list tbh...i think uve made a good purchase and its good to see that your not following my brother and buying the electirc blue take care ho
  4. do you lot no think it looks like the rover city (rubbish)???? me flate m8 has got one for a courtesy car and its horrid... i mean real horrid
  5. alright m8 like people have said. its best to go down to the dealers and take one for a prolonged drive. on my personal experience: the focus, even the 1.6 handles alot better than the fabia. though the steering is vague at best on both. the steering on the focus is very reactive though. u'll find when u turn the steering wheel for about the first cm of steering nothing really happens.... the focus ride was more comfortable but there are more rattles in the interior on the focus. overall the fabia is more solid but the focus was definately more fun in stock mode. the fabia is a good all rounder but it doesnt spark excitement as other cars do. the one thing u will find is that the fabia is alot better on the juice. the 1.6 i was using approx
  6. alright pet.. welcome to briskoda. when u picking the car up? the car is fantastic to drive and i hope u enjoy. take care.. -ho (if u are fit... fancy a mini meet with my vx?)
  7. im up and down the a1 everyday from cramlington to west end of newcastle everyday and the vx is ermm good for that but seriously good luck with the car and safe motoring fella. stay on briskoda.where is that place m8? the auto trader link doesnt say much abotu where it is tbh. -ho (side note.... walkie whats going on with your mr2??? ie ne date of pick up yet and has the fab been sold?)
  8. ive been let out of plenty of junctions by every sort of car. bmw's, mercs, aston martin . tbh the most trouble i have with people steaming down the a1 at 130 and generally being care free are vectra's and mondeo's. there always in a hurry and with their driving style, its proven that they will get more and more frustrated as the drive goes on and its generally the un patient that will lose there rag and road rage. i had a very nice m3 driver the other day move out of the "fast" lane as we were coming off the round about which suprised me very much.infact ever since ive bought the vex, people have been aware of me when im accelerating up to 70 and they move out the way more willingly nowadays. i think its easy to tell what sorta driver a person is gonna be behind a wheel and i would generally just move out the way and let them go by. i would also agree with the fact that suv's are getting more and more annoying. x5's and merc ml's... grrrr so in-conisderate when they drive. (on a side note... i was "baited" for my first race the other day by a bmw 3 series. tinted windows and cheap asiatec (wolfrace) alloys on) i declined as personally i dont see the point on racing on public roads. also (warning snob time) the only thing i would consider racing on a track is the m3, none the other 3 series would keep up,in gear or 0-60. (snob time over) hehehh regards -ho
  9. heya m8... ive noticed u aint been on for a bit as your a fellow north easter. no ones gonna complain about your move....ive personally shifted from the skoda family into the vxl family . theres nothing wrong with volvo's m8.there safe and sturdy and tbh honest if its just for your commute then its perfect. the new c70 cc is lurvely aswell. i hope u stay on briskoda m8. what did u do with the wrc by the way? part ex'd it for the s40 by anychance. if so at what garage... i might go have a look at it. -ho
  10. the 2.0l turbo astra has got the same engine as the vxr. just slightly de-tuned.. i think 200 bhp. so the fabia really had no chance. i think in gear it would be pretty much even stevens as i know the 2.0l turbo vxl engine has quite a bit of torque. 193 ft lbs i believe which kicks in at 1900 rpm. any idea if it was the 170 bhp sri or 200 bhp sri? on a plus note... hehe vxl all the way -ho
  11. alright m8. welcome and enjoy ya stay and the car.
  12. agree with the above........ but soo unfair...f1 car- latest technology-price????? not waging a war but hobnob..... id be willing to bet a free pint(im cheap) that none of the 200 bhp diesels out there (if anyone owns 1) would stand a chance in mid range, 0-60 and v-max against for say my car or a caterham super 7 csr. ie less bhp... and less torque.. theres alot more to a way a car performs in mid range or 0-60 than just bhp or lbs of torque. uve got to conisder aerodynamics, power to weight, gearing, driver skills etc. -ho
