Must be even smoother than the diesel then...(went for economy - got a lot of motorway driving on the commute or would have seriously gone for the 1.8)....

Same thing here on mine though these are not much of a priority - let me know how the MPG goes as that would be of interest - i'll give you a shout if anything causes concern, so far (touch wood) it's all been ok - just need to read the manual properly to work out all the little details - yours is the artic green isn't it? looked nice on the few pic's i've seen...

Picked up my Scout from Malborough Saturday Morning (cannot complain about the service or the DTD purchasing) - great run down to the south coast and really impressed with the quality of the car and the smoothness of the drive. First time Skoda driver - very influenced by the recommendations of the forum here and not regretted it so far - stepping up from a Mini and the drive does not feel as though I am driving a big tank and the new CR diesel is nice and quiet - no tractor noises so far. Main thing is the pooch has settled into the massive boot (hatchbag lining on the way - again another great recommendation from the forum) and the missus is well chuffed with both the drive and the amount of space. Looking forward to Mondays commute to work for once, hopefully the thumbs up for the car will continue!

Speaking on the phone to the dealer she said they had tried to get as many through production before the July shutdown but it's a bit of a lottery and I was one of the lucky ones ( I ordered Scout , diesel, alicantra & MDI) nothing else too fancy

Ordered Scout 24th April - just got the call it will arrive at the garage tomorrow, pick up a week Saturday

Thanks for the quick responses! Good to know the spare wheel doesn't use up any boot space - will think about the variable boot floor as with a dog i was considering getting a boot liner - it would be in use much more often probably - cheers on the info about the mats aswell Will check out what the maxidot offers, Mind made up, will definitely go for the scout, for the price the stuff you get as standard is impressive enough and most peoples reactions to the car on this site has been favourable

Hi, Looking at buying a new Octavia scout as prices new seem to be nearly matching any second hand ones out there. Just changed jobs and will be driving 60 miles a day so looking at the diesel. Just wondering what options are definitely worth it - considering the variable floor as i have a dog that will be in the back and having the storage space underneath seems handy (plus enabling a flatter area in the boot) though the reception to the variable floors seem mixed. Also considering getting the MDI option for an ipod or does the mp3 input render this redundant? Is there any other options worthy of consideration - how much room does a full spare to a space saver take up? Are the floor mats worth it? Also has anyone had any issues with drivethedeal - they are looking like the cheapest option , though will be looking at going to some local dealers over the weekend to double check Any advice appreciated
