  1. Mine has just played up, same problem as yours by the sound of it. Unlucky for me my warranty ended the end of October. It could cost nearly £100 to diagnose/fix, based on what I have told the stealers. (they've not physically seen the car, just wanted to chat to them first) Black_sheep has commented on a post I put on a few days ago so that might be worth a read. Hope you get it sorted. Best Regards Richie
  2. I have always seen the unveiling of a new Octavia model as a progression, having had the Octavia 2, 2 FL and now 3. However, this is a step back in my view, the headlights are awful and there are no great surprises on the inside. Had the headlights been one unit they would of probably looked quite good. Sadly I'm moving on from Skoda after 12 great years, I have an A3 Sportback on order. Who knows I may come back one day... Regards Richie
  3. Hi All, I have an Elegance 1.4 tsi 2013, I have the High beam assist and the coming home lights function which in the last couple of days have not been working. When driving out 'in the sticks' in total darkness my full beam has not been activating when the function has been armed and also when opening the car in darkness my lights are not coming on, likewise when parking up at night and locking the car the follow me home lights are not working. I now have a warning in the main display which reads: fault - automatic headlight adjustment'. Has anyone had this issue and if so what is it likely to cost if it is a repair job (I'm now out of the warranty by the way!) Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Best Regards Richie
  4. Guys (and girls), My Octavia 1.4 Tsi is due a service - a major (£269) as the car is telling me and letter through the door etc. However, the car is now out of warranty (expired end of October), do I stick with Skoda dealer for service or do I go elsewhere? I must point out that I get rid of this car on 1st March, while I agree that the logbook needs a stamp to show that the car has been looked after etc. I think that there must be a cheaper alternative than £269 - has anyone else been in this situation? Are there VAG approved garages that we can use? Anyone's thoughts would be much appreciated. Best Regards Richie
  5. Hi mate, I had an audible warning the other night (hammering it down with rain and not another car in sight) and my colour display went red with a picture of the back of a car with some arrows - is this stage 2? I don't really want to be seeing stage 3! Regards Richie
  6. I see you have front Assistant, I've just tested mine on 400 miles of European roads last night and is a good little feature, and not many have it either. Regards Richie
  7. I picked my Elegance up yesterday from Canterbury with Bi Xenons (Which I switched myself using the computer and they passed the light test - coz that could have been pricey!!) however, the rear LED fog light failed, although I had arranged for Canterbury Skoda to do it which they said they had done however on closer inspection today its not been done - great! So I'm glad you've posted the above, I can now get down to my local dealer with all the relevant info and get it booked in. Many thanks Richie
  8. Thanks for trying mate, enjoy your new car! Regards Richie
  9. I'm picking mine up from Canterbury on Tuesday, I'm getting a 'Pacific Blue' Elegance Hatch although I've loaded with it with many extras including xenon's, 18 alloys, lane assist etc. I'm getting sensible moving down from my current vrs to an elegance, as i'm buying a house soon and settling back in UK. Enjoy your car. Regards Richie
  10. LadyVienna that would be very kind of you, it is an Elegance Hatchback, Pacific Blue, Xenon's, Golus alloys and a few other bits and bobs. Looking forward to your pics! Regards Richie P.S. I work (and live) in Germany making use of tax free prices for cars and Canterbury is the nearest garage who deal with tax free sales! Thanks again
  11. My car's probably sat next to yours, I pick mine up next Tuesday (22nd). Regards Richie
  12. Thank you for that, I've Xenon's coming with my elegance week after next and wondered how light assistant worked with them. Regards Richie
