  1. Just my observations after having the box on the car for 18+months. Maxidot reads between 50-60mpg most of the time but I'll average 550miles per tank which is more like 45mpg isn't it?
  2. mpg should stay about the same but I don't think maxidot will be accurate with the box attached.
  3. I've had a crd-t and pedal box for well over a year but did get some running issues at +1/+2 when I first fitted them, probably going for too high settings at then same time. Anyway, since this thread I've gradually increased the maps back up and am now running map 2+1 and the pedal box on map4+1 without any problems so far. I had forgotten how much easier the pedal box makes the car to drive, the throttle is more sensitive and responsive with perceived power gains. It'll be really interesting to find out what others think about the two systems together. Biggy7 and Xpower, if you have maxidot could you have a look at your oil temp and let me know if it's higher since you fitted the boxes. My oil temp often went up over 99 after a good run?
  4. I've struggled with the crd-t. It's been on my vrs almost 18 months and did cause hesitation/juddering with maps 3 and 4 after 100+miles. I finally had to settle with map 2 -2, which has been faultless ever since. It's great to have other feedback on the box because maybe I just need to try altering the settings again. Andrew, is it possible that having the jumper on minus 2 is all that 'my engine' will take with the pedal box fitted as well?
  5. I've changed to goodyear eagle F1's asymmetric and found them quieter and much grippier in the wet than the conti sport contacts that came with the car. No difference in tyre wear though. I've got goodyear ultragrip 8 on steels for the winter.
  6. Did a search but couldn't find anything. Has anyone else had a problem with the paint laquer? I've noticed a area about 10cm diameter on the side of the bonnet which has a cracked eggshell look and the laquer has started to peel. I never put anything on the bonnet and it's not from bird mess so hoping Skoda will agree it's a defect. The dealer has taken photos today to send off and thinks it will need a full respray. Has this happened to anyone else?
  7. As long as the buyer is aware and no money changes hands until the finance is paid off I don't see a problem. Some buyers opt to clear the finance themselves and pay the seller the difference.
  8. I've had a dtuk crd-t box fitted to my vrs for 10 months and have been impressed with it. Never had it RR tested so couldn't confirm the claimed figures but it's definitely quicker and no limb mode or running problems if you're sensible with the settings. Great benefit is that you can take it off anytime of course!
  9. A vote for the dogpod in the link above. http://www.hamsterbaskets.co.uk/dogpods150.html I've had one for two years in my estate and use it every day to transport two Rottweilers. It's made to measure and there's room down the sides to open the storage compartments. A bit fiddly to take in and out but it's lightweight in comparison to some others I looked at.
  10. Not meaning to hijack the thread, just say when deliveries mess up it's a real pain especially when you pay extra for 24hr delivery. Think I'll pay and collect next time! I did receive an email response today saying they will consult the warehouse/dispatch team so who knows.
  11. ECP is great value unless you're in my position today, order arrived yesterday missing the brake pads. Still trying to get in contact with them but no reply by phone or email. Not particularly impressed with their customer service dept!
  12. I've had this kit in since September with no problems. Went for 4300K. http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/hid-kits-35w-canbuspro/h1h3h7h1190059006-hid-kits/h1h3h4h7h8h9h11-35w-canbus-pro-hid-conversion-kit-p-453.html Simply went for halfords ultra brilliant H1's for mainbeam, which are still a bit yellow but good output.
  13. Have you looked at dogpods.com? I've got one with a middle partition and a bootbag underneath for our 2 rottweilers . Much cheaper than Barjo etc(£260ish I think?. Good build quality and lightweight.
  14. Hi all, I've just ordered a octavia vrs estate 2.0tdi cr today with maxidot and auto mirror. Dealer couldn't give me a delivery date but I've just found this thread and am now bricking it cos I need the car for a holiday in 15 weeks time! Didn't think about this when I ordered it! Has anyone ordered recently and has an idea on delivery date? :(
  15. Hi all, I'm looking into buying my first Skoda. The Scout 2.0tdi pd appeals because of the raised ride height and 4x4, however, my heart would have me get a VRS 2.0tdi cr. I've not yet test driven either but I thought I'd ask here first My previous car, just sold, was a 2001 passat 1.8t estate (180bhp) Has anyone had experience driving the Scout and a vrs and if so does the 4 wheel drive and pd engine (+/-remap) in the Scout make it anywhere near as enjoyable to drive as the vrs? Tough question I know, some may say pointless! Can anyone help before I book a test drive?
