  1. Well, as uncle Boris said I cant go anywhere I thought I would give it a full clean and polish, and whilst I am at it add some styling to headlights and VRS stripes.
  2. As said previously.. the best bio weapon is not one that kills a small area quickly.. its one that incapacitates a population slowly.. it decimates the economy and the country's ability to defend itself.. its also easier to explain a pandemic than it is a nuclear, chemical or biological explosion.
  3. So if this did originate in the meat markets of china, in live or uncooked food stuffs, then when will the world stop eatung raw or live animals and what sanctions will be imposed on China as a result of this?
  4. Thanks for the reminder about not discussing Non OEM, but as I said I am new to VCDS and OBD and have no idea what an OEM is or how to recognise one.
  5. Is this any use to anyone? Only just started looking at VCDS and OBD2 in general, so still not too sure. But I do know that a markdown from $600 to $77 seems too good to be true. It wont work on a mk3 Octavia, but says it works on prev versions. [Link Removed]
  6. Fitted a Nextbase 422GW to the wife Fabia and a 522GW to the VRS using these along with rear cameras.. Both were really easy and had no issues. Fitted them both to the 12V socket as a piggy back and no issues (unless you count getting the VRS glove box out and back in). They both stay on a short time and then use the motion sensors to come back on should someone hit my car whilst parked. With the fabia having a smaller engine and therefore a smaller battery, I thought the same that this would kill the battery - but it's using very low power and I've had no issues so far, in fact her fabia didn't move from 24th Dec till today (31st Dec) and it turned over nicely. If you need any advice - feel free to PM me.
  7. Same here - after buyng VW stuff twice, I then changed to VW compatible, now I just pick up some blue stuff in a 5l bottle which costs about a fiver - never had an issue.
  8. I hace installed ODBEleven to see what it can do, used my VIN to lookup my car and hey presto its there with all the mods I can do. Although some of the mods are not that intuitive in what they do, this means I would need to credits to enable them and then use credits to revert them. Most of the mods are enabled on the VRS 245, so does ODB Eleven do anything else?
  9. Took delivery of my 245 Challenge on 19th Dec and I didn't even know about this (not read the manual). If you can wifi hotspot via a tether - then I'm buying a cheap android device and plugging it in and setting tether up.. Then you have a constant wifi connection. Couple that with a product like "Find my [Insert name of handset manufacturer]" or Prey ( https://www.preyproject.com/ ) - you have a cheap tracker as well should the missue borrow your car
  10. Anyone know where I can get a single 19" Xtreme rim from - my VRS 245 didn't come with a spare wheel.
  11. Someone being me and the wife. I bought the VRS, and she got the fabia. Well wewere hinting but our friends were not going to buy us them.
  12. Its under the beam so not noticable.
  13. Its this stuff, which my brother had lying around spare. Devil Eye by Finest-Folia Stripe Style Headlight Film for Skoda Octavia 1Z 5E RS Superb I II https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IN0BQXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JE1aEb5YHAWDY
  14. Well, these must be the best pressies ever.. I just couldnt get them under the tree..
  15. Hi all. I just thought I'd pop in to say I am now a fully fledged member of the 245 Owners club, having picked up this sexy little number last thursday (the car I mean, not me).
  16. I thought the 220 was right for me, the Challenge is much better. Not liking the images of the 2020 version though. Might change my mind when I see it in person.
  17. After a long term relationship with my 63 plate Octavia VRS, and the wifes 17 plate Fabia the wife and I are saying goodbye to them. Matching colours was a nice a touch (although she copied me) and she loved driving the sporty VRS. It was so sad to see them go. Although - the sadness is quickly overcome by the arrival of my our twins VRS Challenge 245 PS DSG and Fabia Monte Carlo Already the wife and have forgotten about the Blue twins
  18. Just received an update of 41.2.A.2.199 and it has not made a blind bit of difference. Come on Sony... get a grip
  19. I would like to know which are the best to fit for the driver, so youcould have satnav or Torque running on it.
  20. I called Xperia tech support today (03705237237), they informed me that there is a "bug" in the 7.0 Android OS. When I stated that an S6 Edge running Nougat had connected with no issues, he quickly changed this to "technical issues which the Sony developers were working out". So it looks like Sony have cocked up on this one - as the XZ was released last year you would think they would have a fix in place for this by now. I just hope they come up with a solution quickly - I don't mind using the SD card. but I like to listen to music on the way to work and then continue where I left off when I get there UPDATE - Just tried connecting the Xperia XZ to the USB port and setting it to MDI - I have never done this before on the vRS. It came up with a second AUX option in the sources (Same Icon and everything) but no music could be heard when selecting either. Is this normal? I might have to buy a phone cradle and plug it in via 3.5mm Jack - At least Old School can't fail me where technology has let me down..
  21. I recently bought an Xperia XZ to replace the aging Xperia Z3, it's a nice phone and I can't fault it - until I came to connect it to the mk3 vRS with the Amundsen head unit. I can pair the phone to the bluetooth and make / receive calls on it - which is great, the phone book is fine and works with no issues. The problem arises from playing music through the head unit - It will play, pause and I can control the volume, but I can't see any track listings, or the present track being played, nor can I skip to the next or previous tracks (the buttons on the touch screen are greyed out). This is infuriating me, as a premium phone like that should have no issues. I've read a couple of articles to try and fix this, turning wifi off, running the phone in safe mode, deleting the network (incl bluetooth) connections and reestablishing it - but all seem to do nothing. Does anyone know of any reason this would happen, I've never had issues with any other handset (Xperia Z3, Z3 compact, Alcatel, Samsungs) all seem fine. Any ideas on how I can sort this out - as some tracks on my phone are not that suitable for when the children are in the car
  22. Well - at 16:30 on 25/05/2015 my little Emily was born. Here is her with her big brother http://1drv.ms/1EIYVxh And I have finally completed her bedroom. http://1drv.ms/1Fh814J At least she's sleeping most of the night and not screaming too much. The only downside now is the back of the vRS looks like a stuffed animal parade :(
  23. Thanks to all. Just got back from hospital. No show as yet, not even. Close. Here is what I have to sort out before she turns up. http://1drv.ms/1Re6Uvc
  24. I still have the nursery carpet in the boot. I said this was 2 weeks early. I thought I'd have plenty of time to finish decorating the nursery. As it happens I started yesterday 5 hours before she went in. So I have an unfinished nursery. I'm in for a great week.
  25. I have a 10 yr old lad, this is the first girl. Got an Octavia VRS estate, so pretty much every buggy, pram, stroller and the kitchen sink fit in the boot. I can let you know if the Grace Symbiotic B fits in the wife's Monte Carlo.
