  1. When I was a First Responder Driver at RAF St Mawgan can remember being called out to attend 18mth old with this. Very worrying at time but we managed to cool child down by time ambulance arrived. Parents were understandably panicking who also had to be calmed down. Very hectic 1/2 hour!!!!!
  2. If only, really puts the message across.
  3. My apologies :S Just that working on a holiday site in cornwall we get to see some seriously overloaded vans and hear owners boasting how fast they went on way down it makes you cringe! There should be a weighbridge on the M5 to catch them. I have a van myself so not biased against them.
  4. So you dont keep to the speed limit for caravans then?
  5. Whats the fuss about? Cars have headlights for just this occasion. If youre scared of the dark just drive during the day!
  6. Reluctantly sold my Octavia 4x4 2.0Fsi, no longer needed a large car and wanted something smaller and more economical. Did try a roomster 1.4 but was like driving a MF tractor so opted for ex demo Chevy Cruze 5k under list for now. The Octy did need 4 tyres, repairs to front wing as ladder fell on it! warranty had expired, the ABS light had stayed on a few times even though it had been repaired last year luckily it stayed off. Plus next service is the cam belt biggie, sad to see it go. Think its on sale in walton on thames now.
  7. Had the same bulges on my octy 4x4 only on one wheel didnt seem to get any worse or affect steering.
  8. The REAL 4x4. Used to have 110 mk2,before that series 11a back when I could repair them,(makes my back hurt thinking about it)but fun on days out at tixover quarry.Always had a soft spot for the lightweights but never got one.
  9. Obviously you dont know the freelander 4wd system. If you take the propshaft off either side of the viscous coupling you're left with fwd only. This coupling is prone to seizing causing axle wind up and vibration. As I used mine on road only it was an easy way to get more Mpg and a smoother ride.
  10. Had this on mine removed door trim found leak from metal cover on door, its held on with rivets wasn't compressing the rubber seal. Cleaned it then applied silicone sealer in copious amounts! seemed to work. You will need new clips for the trim the old ones break very easy. As a temp repair till i did this I fixed a 1.5" length of washer tubing just under the trim with duct tape so that any excess drained away. It just makes asmall dent in the seal which reverts back to normal after afew days.
  11. To get better mpg from your freelander if you dont need 4wd remove both propshafts and just run 2wd. Did this on an 06 TD4 and regularly got 45mpg no problem. Stopped axle wind on full lock and ran smoother as well.
  12. Worst pain i had was falling off a stepladder, resulting in a crushed heel then realising ladder had hit octy ft wing as well!
