  1. That's the truth ! Who would even think to comment that the safety car is slow ,hehe
  2. Does anyone know if this is a serviceable item ? The heater appears to have a mind of its own and won't adjust properly - some have said it is likely to be the heater flaps - Where are they located ? Is there a DIY guide on how to resolve/replace. cheers
  3. About 2 years ago the aircon stopped working on mine - I bought a new compressor but the fault remained - had the gas level checked all ok - I eventually found that the wiring to the compressor had corroded and was creating a short - the wire went under the battery casing where water had gathered and caused the problem - Maybe worth an electrical check before paying out for unnecessary .
  4. Use blackcircles as the starting point for cost - last tyres I bought for the vRS and porsche were cheapest from them.
  5. Apologies - didn't see the post until this morning !!
  6. I have used the Kumho, the grip was excellent but the downside was they were worn out after 10/11k miles on the front - the ventus get good reviews and I dont think that the less efficient fuel rating makes any significant difference, some reviews have said that an A rated tyre can save you 80litres of fuel over the lifetime of the tyre - wow !
  7. Apols , can't do this one - will be looking for the Easter bunny
  8. ctek charger/conditioner is worth the investment to improve battery performance
  9. Good to see you guys again - I will use the SE next time so I don't spoil the line up !!
  10. I use Ap's on mine - good result
  11. Ditched mine after having it ripped off several times by speed bumps etc - the perceived benefit is not worth the hassle IMO
  12. good news , easy fix then - winter does kill batteries if they are getting on a bit
  13. My first job would be to remove that bonnet cover - I know they are supossed to protect from stone chips but have you seen what happens to the bonnet paint when dust etc gets under the cover and slowly rubs away when driving and the cover moves slightly - it acts like fine sandpaper
  14. Try endsleigh - I used them for my lad when he first passed - it was cheaper than everywhere else
  15. Agreed - I knew I wouldn't be the only one !! 22nd, I should be able to escape for an hour or two.
  16. Just goes to show that insurance companies make the numbers up. Amongst my cars the mrs is insured as policy holder on 2.7 boxster she is older than 40 has 20 years no claims, drives 3k miles per year, car is on the drive - Tesco quoted just over £1400 - I got her covered by the red telephone for £168 -
  17. when I got home last night the other half had spotted my entry on the calender "skoda doughnuts 12.oo " - she reminded me in her usual way that it was mothers day and I was going no where !! Yes I know you're all thinking I have that thumb print on my head but the option is sharing a doughnut with you guys or facing grief for a week - so I'll be there !! No joking, I will have to miss this one, cheers Ross
  18. my recent experience - I have/had 4 cars on with admiral - VRS SE, 2.7 Boxster, 3.2 Boxster S, 1.9tdi fabia comfort the renewal quote was a little over £1700 - shopping around for a while I got all down to £1038 !! My son's car, the comfort, was £350 with endsleigh - he is 23, 5 yrs ncd, no claims, no convictions - The other cars are now with direct line. Spend the time to look around - I saved enough to nearly cover the road tax on them all.
  19. hehe - the standard 2.7 I have has them as well -
  20. 15th appears ok for now - I will leave the SE at home and bring the boxster S , another steal after the SLK !!
