  1. I meant to post back, the error did indeed clear when i got in the car the next day. How very odd! But glad it is all sorted. Stanian, as I found out it makes no difference if you get error free ones as the car knows they are leds regardless. To be fair it was very simple to code using the post above and remembering the error won't go away for 24 hours ish.
  2. Hi, Hopefully somone can help... I have replaced my number plates bulbs with leds and went to get the coding changed so the car will stop throwing a hissy fit every time the lights come on. However, after we did this: > Controller 09 - Central Electronics -> 16 - Security Access - enter 31347 -> 10 - Adaptations Change the 2 channels listed below (1)-Leuchte25KZL HA59-Lasttyp 25 - set to: 43 - allgemeine LED (6) Leuchte25KZL HA59 - Dimmwert AB 25 - set to 127 we still got the errors on the dash and the vcds said this: Address 09: Cent. Elect. Labels: 5Q0-937-08X-HV1.clb Control Module Part Number: 5Q0 937 086 AA HW: 5Q0 937 086 AA Component and/or Version: BCM PQ37BOSCH 028 0106 Software Coding: 0F001A42C24722FB07A04082B10C07280000000000000000000000000000 Work Shop Code: WSC 73430 790 00000 ASAM Dataset: EV_BodyContrModul1UDSBosc 013004 (SK37) ROD: EV_BCMBOSCH_013.rod VCID: 79FC61F7F8B8018AFB-802C 1 Fault Found: 12307 - License Plate Light B12CA 01 [009] - Electrical Failure Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 2 Mileage: 44510 km Date: 2016.10.21 Time: 17:59:25 Can anyone help please?
  3. Hi Wakey, if I ordered this for £215, is this everything i need (plus someone to turn it on with VCDS)? Does the handle just fit with no cutting? Thanks, I'm happy to spend the money but fed up of ordering stuff to find, its not everything or it does not work etc...
  4. This is the camera I fitted to the number plate of my wife's Fabia. Was £22 and is great, no problems at night at all (though she a very bright cree reversing bulb). Only reason I would go for the handle one on my octava is so it is more in the middle which satisfies my OCD better! Only thing that is annoying is when you get the camera in the light, the led light is tiny and gives off enough, but a very small amount of light. If you then put an led bulb in the other side, to make them match you have to get the smallest, least powerful one you can and then tape up most of the lens with black insulation tape so the whole is the same size. Otherwise you get a floodlight on one side and almost nothing on the other.
  5. Thanks, though i have to say i really do prefer the idea of buying one kit that is plug and play rather than lots of separates??
  6. If that was for me, I'm keeping the skoda badge as above, got no issues with it at all. No point trying to hide the fact it is a vRS, fairly obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence... But I always stand by my sig!
  7. Is this all I would need for my 16 VRS estate? Plus someone to code of course?
  8. I am removing the Skoda and Octavia on mine leaving just the Badge and vRS. But the idea above is good, on top of that I would say have some wd40 ready to remove any sticky gunk left then a load of polish as depending on age the paint can fade around the badge.. Trust me, that is annoying!! Also I totally love the exhausts on the new vRS!! Maim reason I got the petrol was I couldn't stand the idea of the left one being fake though!!
  9. Thanks to all that helped. I got a screen fitted in about 3 mins and all is well, plug and play! Although it is small it works fine and I actually see no reason to change it. I will look at adding a camera at some point but there is normally someone somewhere that can add things to oem stuff!
  10. Personally on my late 14 tsi I love it. But it is easy to not have it on mine, just put the vrs Mode to D then engage the sport by pulling the gear down and hey presto, all the VRS settings but no sound. I imagine it would sound very out of place on the diesel but on the tsi it gives an almost v8 sound! Never had any vibration or rattling though, that would be very annoying!
  11. Ok thanks, may just wait until I can afford to replace with the Kenwood. I'll get nav as well then. They are doing at my local Skoda dealer for £599 fitted at the mo. Maybe something to consider...
  12. Now that's sorted can a reversing camera be added to the bolero? :-)
  13. Thank you, so the only plug not currently plugged into anything is the proper one! I have managed to get a bolero screen for £130 so hoping it works, but even if I have pay someone £20 to vcds it in, I am still ok money wise! Thanks for all your help. Anyone want to buy an aftermarket screen, slightly used? :-)
  14. I can only see one 'hole' on the back of the standard screen and from the looks of it, that is where the larger of the 3 white plugs would go. The other is the aerial? The black plug I have (not currently connected) is the more of a standard VW connector and black, unless this is the most plug? What am I missing? Is the confusion I face because of an aftermarket loom in the car? Does the DAB go through black one then? In answer to your point VRSANT, the garage is on the other side of the country and going back is not an option. For me, I bought a car with an issue they were upfront about and I got a discount to cover the cost of a replacement screen. I don't feel they have done anything worth complaining about, although in hindsight I should have taken then up on the offer of a replaced screen, especially seen as it appears I will now have to pay for someone to program a replacement in. I also did not realise that in one facelift they had made the system so complicated. In my older VAG cars I have simply replaced the units with better aftermarket ones.. My wife's fabia VRS has a fantastic system that does all the car set up stuff, maxi dot, steering controls, tells me engine revs, ltrs of fuel in the tank, doors open, seatbelts on etc, but also allowed me to add front parking sensors, rear camera, Bluetooth and loads more if I want. All for £250, this was my intention with this car but it has not panned out as the systems are not available for this later type (and shape) of unit yet (well not decent ones anyway as this proves).
