  1. Stop start doesn't work when towing.
  2. My Yeti has just turned 3 years old, and I had started to suspect that my 4 wheel drive was not working as it should with wheel spin off the line in damp conditions. One morning after it had been parked for a few days it would not start so I put a new battery on it. Now I am convinced the traction is back to how it should be with just a new battery and no fault codes read or reset. While I can not be 100% sure the 4 wheel drive was not working before the new battery I am sure it is now. Could someone confirm or say otherwise that correcting problems should clear fault codes without visiting dealers or investing in diagnostic equipment ourselves.
  3. I swapped a 170 in for a 140 as I wanted DSG which wasn't available with the 170 at the time. I love the DSG gearbox but really miss the extra power of the 170. It might be just mine but the 140 engine is no where near as smooth as the 170 was, there is a lot more engine noise from the 140. If I get another Yeti it would be a 170 with DSG.
  4. No, my Brodit proclip is now in my second Yeti. there were no marks when i removed it from the first one.
  5. http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=854393&pn=prod&brand=Skoda&model=Yeti&year=2011 Mine is a Yeti, but i guess there is a similar one to fit the Octavia. https://www.flickr.com/photos/64994264@N08/15824791533/in/set-72157627523112617 Appologies but the photo thing is beyond me.
  6. I also have Quadlock on the phone and one of their adhesive mounts stuck to a brodit mount on the air vent. It's a tidy solution, in my opinion its a lot smarter than a dedicated phone holder.
  7. I read about this on a Golf forum, i think the general consensus was that it would be a flap swinging open in the ventilation system.
  8. Put a 240v inverter in there, and this one will tell the time as well as make the tea. Swan STM100RADN Radio Teasmade
  9. You won't be able to have your iPod and iPhone connected at the same time, if you want to use the Hands free phone you will be better off putting your music onto the phone.
  10. I will be seriously interested in swapping my Yeti for a Honda if the HRV will come with the 160 Bhp 1.6 diesel with 9 speed twin clutch gear box like honda are putting in the CRV.
  11. I believe the lights are designed to stay on when the sun is low in the sky and behind you. I think the sensor in your rear view mirror has something to do with it.
  12. Does anyone know if these units will be upgradable for "IOS in the car" in the future?
  13. Skoda now have fixed price servicing, so if you have it done at a main dealer it costs no different between a petrol or diesel, or for that matter whether you have a Fabia, Yeti or Superb.
  14. I recently bought an Atera Strada for my mountain bike after reading about them on here, no regrets.
  15. You need to put your foot on the brake to get it into drive from neutral.
  16. I did the same, traded my 170 for a year old 140 with DSG. No regrets.
  17. As the OP is after a 170hp engine the only option is the top of the range Elegance.
  18. MY11 cars built from summer 2010 got Bluetooth audio. MY12 cars built from summer 2011 got folding mirrors but lost auto dimming wing mirrors.
  19. Thanks for the prompt replies. I certainly do enjoy my DSG box, I will do even more not worrying about the clutch slip.
  20. I have recently bought a 2 year old 140 DSG yeti. I find that 1st and second gears seem a lot lower than they were on my previous 170, it very rapidly seems to change up to second gear, then it feels like there is some clutch slippage in second gear while travelling slowly with a cold engine. Is this normal?
  21. I have just swapped my 170 TDi for a 140 with DSG, one of the first things i did was to drive down a hill to see how it behaved regarding engine braking. Whatever gear its in when you release both pedals it remains in providing the engine is revving at a seeable amount but as soon as you touch the brake pedal it will change down a gear or two to give as much engine braking as necessary. As soon as you touch the throttle it will change up again. The gears can be changed as you require just by using the pedals, without braking or throttling sharply.
  22. I seem to remember that you need a phone connected to the car to delete either the phone you have connected or another one.
  23. I haven't noticed this noise in my Yeti, but my Lupo Sport used to put the ventilation into recirculating mode after a fixed period away from the car and used to make a distinct noise when it opened the air vents upon return. I wonder if you have your air recirculating button set in the automatic position?
